"I don't award five stars lightly, but this series earned them easily."
--Amazon Reviewer
Review of Steven Forrest's "The Book Of Neptune"

"If you feel as if you've lost your footing, are sinking in quicksand or adrift on a large body of water with no land in sight, there's a good chance that Neptune is involved.
If that's the case, I can't recommend this book highly enough." --Whobeda

Natural House: 1st Natural House: 7th Natural House: 2nd
The 1st house includes your personality, the face you show to the world and how you "dawn" on people.  A Full Moon in your 1st house often brings about a change in behavior; perhaps you'll give up a bad habit or start pursuing something that takes you to a new level.  Recent experiences that have affected you could cause a subtle change to your persona and thus cause others to see you in a different way.    Influences of the 7th house include close relationships such as your significant other, close friends and relatives, business partners, business professionals, cliental, competitors and open enemies.  Someone new is likely to come into your life at this time who fits one or more of these areas.  This could be someone entirely new or someone with whom you've had a more casual relationship in the past. A new situation may arise with an existing relationship.  Influences of the 2nd house include your income, possessions, needs, comforts and pleasures.  This house contains what you value, those things that mean the most, both physically and emotionally.  A Full Moon in this house suggests an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase of something in this part of your life.  For example, you may decide that enjoying life is more important than working so hard just for the money.

FULL MOON #1

This month is another one with a "blue moon", since there are two full moons. Thus, the messed up lunations this year continue, thanks to the exaggerated ego of various Roman emperors who had to have more days in their respective namesake months, messing up our calendar forevermore. There is no love lost between me and them for other reasons as well, largely that they are the ones that laid the foundation for religions to eschew astrology because they didn't want the common people to have it; they wanted to maintain control, including over how much knowledge was dispensed, which they wanted to vet. Heaven forbid if anyone got it directly from the cosmos besides them! Okay, sorry, rant over.

The Full Moon on March 1 is in Virgo, with the Sun and Neptune in Pisces opposing. Pisces, being a dreamy, emotional sign, is definitely quite different that precise, ground-based and practical Virgo. This opposition, which occurs with every Full Moon, anyway, is tilted in Pisces favor even more thanks to Neptune, Pisces's modern ruler, cozied up with the Sun. Mercury is in debility and fall in Pisces, so he's off in Lalaland, and not helping the Moon, probably because he's annoyed she's in his favorite sign while he treads water, his soggy nature undoubtedly fogging your thought processes, though with luck you might come across an inspired idea or two. Mercury and Venus are conjunct, which makes for a pretty sight as evening stars after sunset. Venus, unlike Mercury, is thrilled to be in Pisces, the sign where she's exalted, her compelling, attractive forces at their very best.

Thus, this cosmic convention in Pisces is leaning a lot toward a dreamy, idealistic, and perhaps delusional influence which the Moon by her lonesome in Virgo certainly won't mediate. Rather, the typical definition of a Full Moon, i.e. "ending. culmination, or shift to a new phase" is likely, with that shift likely to be toward a time to chill out, which is actually a pretty good idea as the planetary parade will go into Aries in the coming weeks, ramping things up considerably, especially as they get together with Uranus. Saturn, however, is trying to lend some assistance, which might help you keep your wits about you at work or with those things for which you're responsible, at least.

On the positive side, inspiration is quite profuse, which can be useful for spiritual growth and dealing with subconscious issues, with a little help from Pluto and Jupiter, to virtually change your past by seeing it differently. Mars, the planet that rules action, is squaring Venus and Mercury, reminding you that acting upon some inclinations when you're not dealing with a full deck is often ill-advised. Hopefully, Saturn will help you see the practical side of things as help you avoid bad decisions based on delusions as well.

NEW MOON

The New Moon on 17 March will bring another blast of Piscean energy, but it will be a bit closer to the normal amount with only Neptune accompanying the lunation. Venus and Mercury are still conjunct, and still lovely evening stars in close proximity to one another in the early evening sky, but have moved into Aries, where their behavior will be entirely different. Venus isn't particularly happy now, being in the sign of her debility, and Mercury will be letting fly with all sorts of spontaneous and impulsive thoughts and comments now that he's out of Pisces. The planets is Aries (Venus, Mercury and Uranus) are messing with the planets in Pisces (Sun, Moon, and Neptune) such that a variety of annoyances and friction can be expected which will include disruptions, disturbances, misunderstandings, and potential screw-ups related to love or money, which are going to cause a few arguments.

Impulsive action will be a strong temptation, perhaps largely because of all those annoyances that get you fired up enough that you want to do something, even if it's wrong. Jupiter is ramping up the lunations influence with a heavy dose of Scorpio passion, which may not be in your favor. This is a time to call upon past experience and the admonitions of older and/or wiser friends to keep you from doing anything you'll regret.

You probably noticed already that this lunation occurs on St. Patrick's Day, a quasi-holiday for many, which often brings celebrations that involve alcohol. If you're one who plans to party, bear these cautions in mind since there are numerous things about these aspects that could make bar room brawls even more likely than usual. The square between Saturn and unhappy Venus also doesn't look good if you happen to get pulled over by one of your city's finest on the way home, so be sure to make use of a designated driver, Uber, or whatever other alternative you may have as opposed to setting yourself up for some serious trouble.

FULL MOON #2

This lunation occurs on the 31st in most of the western hemisphere, though it will be on the 1st of April in those on the other side of the International Dateline, just like the one in January. At least after this month things will settle down into the usual pattern of one Full and one New Moon each month for the remainder of the year.

This lunation doesn't look very friendly for a variety of reasons. First of all, by now the Sun has gone into Aries, which brings a burst of energy many cannot handle well. I'm not going to go into a history lesson, but let's just say that there are numerous violent events which have occurred under an Aries Sun. Furthermore, at this point Mercury is retrograde, which tends to honk things up as well (more on that below). Just as a reminder, starting a new activity under Mercury RX tends to bring nothing but frustration due to needing to be redone later and seldom comes to fruition. With Mercury conjunct the Sun, this throws that ill-thought-out, impulsive energy into the lunation. Since Full Moons tend to bring an ending, make sure it's not an ugly or premature one. The Moon in Libra, which dislikes contention, is going to have her work cut out for her.

The Sun-Moon opposition also forms a T-square with Saturn and Mars in Capricorn. Both of those planets have rather bad reputations as malefics. Furthermore, Mars is exalted in that sign and Saturn is in dignity, so both are strong. I like to think that this influence may put the brakes on anything that might be unpleasant or even violent. A T-square indicates tension, so this Easter weekend could be interesting. The sextile between Jupiter, who tends to ramp up anything he touches, and Pluto, who loves power and control, could be troublesome as well. Meanwhile, Venus has gone into Taurus where she's in dignity as its ruler, so she could help out a little, though she is unaspected. Actually, that makes her stronger since she's not blending her energy with any other planets, so we can always hope that will have a calming effect. Generally, however, I wouldn't be surprised if this Full Moon stirs things up a bit, as if the world needs any help these days.

OTHER COSMIC EVENTS

This month two planets station retrograde, Jupiter, and Mercury. Jupiter stations on 8 March in Scorpio, trining the Pisces Sun and part of a sextile pattern with Pluto at the apex in Capricorn. This is a generally friendly aspect pattern that denotes an easy energy exchange. Jupiter retrograde typically relates to ethics issues, according to Erin Sullivan, author of "Retrograde Planets: Traversing the Inner Landscape", which is not an easy read but worth the effort. Generally speaking retrograde planets internalize their energy rather than express it opening. Since Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius (traditionally he also rules Pisces), which is the 9th house that includes philosophy, legal matters, other cultures, long-distance travel, higher educations, and relocation, these matters will come under review. The link with Pluto bespeaks unearthing corruption while the Sun brings the light of day to bear, but with some level of compassion. However, there could be some clashes, however, between compassion and the law or other philosophical matters. Edicts from those in authority are likely to be harsh and decisive as well as unexpected or sudden. Any court decisions at this time should be interesting and somewhat unpredictable. If your birthday is right around September 16, this station will sextile your natal Sun, bringing an opportunity your way in one of these areas. The station occurs in Scorpio, your 3rd house, which includes thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors, and local travel, so these are areas to ponder.

Mercury stations retrograde 22 March in Aries. Thus, his cozy relationship with Venus will begin to separate. As always, remember that this is not the time to start a new project or buy anything with moving parts or electronics, especially major appliances or, heaven forbid, an automobile. As I write I am once again having trouble with a refrigerator I bought several years ago. The one I had went out during Mercury RX and I lived out of an ice chest as long as I could stand, buying this one a day or two after Mercury went direct. This turned out to be a big lesson in respecting the shadow period, but going without a fridge is no fun. Anyway, it ran okay for a while, but the icemaker was so noisy it sounded like it was haunted and the handle to the freezer had a tendency to get loose and fall off. Now, it's having repeated problems where an ice dam forms and cuts off cool air from the freezer to the refrigerator. Even if I were inclined to just give in and buy a new one, we're already in the shadow period of this retrograde, so it's likely the replacement would likewise be another POS. If you've ever had trouble with an automobile or appliance where each one you bought didn't function properly, it's highly likely this is why, that the original was purchased when Mercury was RX or in shadow, it acted up during those same times, and thus replacements were likewise affected.

The chart for Mercury RX indicates some changes of course based on logic, perhaps due to action taken previously that wasn't, such as under the influence of that New Moon. With Mercury stationing conjunct Venus, love or money issues come to mind, which now come back to bite you. Taking action in a responsible manner will take some extra discipline, especially if you're determined to do what you want. After what has been a long winter for many of us, impatience to get moving again could get the better of you, but chances are it won't do you any good to jump the gun. If your birthday is right around September 9, the station is quincunx your natal Sun, which suggests a change of direction or potential for a Catch-22 situation. Aries is your 8th house of transformations, so this change of direction is likely to be significant.
