Lunations and Long-term Aspects

This month the Full Moon occurs on November 2 in Taurus, your 12th House of dreams, inspiration, spirituality, confinement, self-undoing, institutions and hidden enemies, marking the ending, culmination or shifting to a new phase of something in this part of your life.  This is a bit of a woo-woo house that contains things that are hidden, hard to define, intangible and affect us through means other than our conscious senses.  Since a Full Moon is by definition an opposition between the Moon and the Sun, it's worth mentioning that the Sun at this time is in the opposite House, i.e. your 6th, which comprises your work, health, and pets.  Most polar signs have a fairly apparent correlation such as the 3rd which includes our thoughts, ideas, neighbors, siblings, and short journeys and the 9th which covers beliefs, expectations, other cultures, long journeys and relocation.  However, it's a bit harder to understand how the 6th and 12th tie together.

The best way to explain this is to note that the work we do, whether it entails our day job, service performed for others, or anything else that occupies our time and produces something, is the natural extension and outward manifestation of who and what we are at the spiritual level.  Even the scriptures tell us "by their fruits ye shall know them."  Those things that we actively produce ultimately trace back to the inspiration that conceived them, with a brief detour along the way through the 5th House of creativity.  In other words, the vision comes from the 12th, we put our own personal mark on it through the 5th and produce it in the 6th.  Our health and pets are likewise in the 6th, which are also the expression of our innermost self.  In other words, you can tell a lot about a person by their maladies or observing what they keep for pets, whether it's a fussy Persian cat, rottweiler, guppies, or boa constrictor.

Thus, this month can be the time when what has been rattling around emotionally in your 12th House comes to fruition through the 6th whether it's something tangible or possibly the appearance of symptoms related to an illness that reflects your inner turmoil.  The aspects accompanying the Full Moon provide some clue with the most obvious a T-Square created with both the Sun and Moon by Mars transiting your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, siblings and short journeys, as noted earlier.  Mars in your 3rd House will have you brimming with mental activity and ideas, which, of course, is fairly normal behavior for Mercury-ruled Gemini.  Thus, during this transit your brain will essentially be on steroids, perhaps so much so that you have far more ideas than you can possible put into action, creating stress and frustration.  People born under Gemini invented multiplexing, but sometimes you have so many things in work simultaneously that it either drives you (and your family) to distraction or you wind up with numerous unfinished projects.  I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir when I tell you that your mind moves a whole lot quicker than your hands or even your computer and that you continually underestimate the time required to get something done.  Your Sign Ruler, Mercury, is over there with the Sun, further spurring you on in that House of work.  Obviously, to say this will be a busy time is a huge understatement since you're not the type of person who has any moss growing beneath your feet in the first place.

The best thing you can do with all this is to do your very best to prioritize, focus on one thing at a time, and employ help where you can, even if they don't move nearly as fast as you'd like.  You'd rather be busy than bored, but you could easily burn yourself out or rush through things at such a pace that the end result isn't what it should be, ultimately making the entire endeavor a waste of time.  Another caution is being too forceful with those you're working with.  Mars rules your 11th House of others including coworkers and group associations, so being pushy and driven will come naturally and while this may be invisible to you, who only want to get the job done, to others you'll appear to be an ADHD task master.

Another aspect to note, and one that will be in force for several months, is a square between Saturn and Pluto in your 5th and 8th Houses, respectively.  These two bad boy planets in hard aspect have an ax to grind about something and it will be to your advantage to figure out what as quickly as possible so you can take care of business.  Saturn just entered Libra, your 5th House of creativity, ego expression, children, romance, entertainment and speculation which is a bit of a mixed blessing.  Saturn is all about discipline, structure, responsibility, delays, authority and hard lessons, which aren't exactly compatible with a generally happy house like the 5th.  However, this may be exactly what you need as a Gemini to learn to focus and plan to complete tasks in a more methodical and less frantic manner, which could allow you to get a lot more done in the long-run.  Saturn inspires hard work, ambition, and the perseverance it takes to get to the top of the mountain, so this could be very useful in getting your creative projects moving.

Pluto is in your 8th House of transformations, sex, death & regeneration, shared resources, debt, and yes, as you'd expect, taxes.  Pluto rules the Zodiacal 8th House (Scorpio) so he is very much in his element in this house.  Transformations are those times in life when we encounter something that changes us forever such that we can never go back to where and what we were before.  These experiences teach us about life and ourselves, our reaction to them key to the direction they take us.  For example, if a natural disaster strikes an area there will be individuals who will rise to the occasion helping others and getting things back in order while others will be traumatized and entirely nonfunctional.  Every Sign has one particularly trait that can be of help during such times as covered in the section on "Who Ya Gonna Call?"  Everyone will be changed and affected in some manner, but whether it is beneficial or results in years of panty-wringing and therapy is entirely up to the individual.  Thus, transformational experiences can go either way but will always give a strong indication of who and what you are.

Pluto will be in Capricorn for a long, long time so this is going to be a work in progress for literally years.  During this time you can expect to encounter many profound situations that will affect you deeply.  Opportunities to grow as a person will abound.  Another thing Pluto does exceptionally well is to unearth old issues that have been buried so they can be properly resolved, somewhat like that roto-rooter backhoe tearing up your yard to find that broken sewer line.  Which brings us back to that square with Saturn.  During the next few months while that square is in effect it's highly likely that it will have a transformational result with respect to your creative, self-identity, and how you see the world.

Another aspect to note is another T-Square, this one involving Venus and the Lunar Nodes, which are significators of life changes with the North Node representative of something new coming in and the South Node representative of something leaving or fading away.  Venus is much friendlier than Mars, Pluto or Saturn, so this is likely to be much less onerous than those others, plus she's in your 5th House of creativity along with Saturn.  This aspect has a financial flavor related to a creative work or some other speculation.  Realize that there is likely to be a risk involved that it may cost you more money than it generates so proceed with caution.  At any rate it's unlikely that you'll be able to finance the endeavor yourself, so if you get involved with a partner or investor, make sure everything is in writing.

Venus is also tied in with Neptune and the asteroid, Chiron, both of which are in your 9th House of beliefs, expectations, higher learning, legal matters, other cultures and long-distance travel, implying that your creative work will have something to do with inspiration coming from one of those venues.  Also note that the 9th includes religion and politics, so they could be your source as well.  Venus is also quincunx Uranus in your 10th House of career, reputation, status, and public image indicating a sudden and unexpected change of course or direction, which is also likely to be related to a creative work.  Uranus is sextile the North Node, further reinforcing the concept that something new and transformational is coming into your life that will affect your status, career or public image.  All in all it sounds like some interesting times ahead.  And thus shines the Full Moon.

The New Moon on November 16 occurs in Scorpio, your 6th House of work, health and pets as described above.  This certainly fits in well with the implications from the Full Moon that some new major project is coming your way.  One caution implicit in this lunation is the fact that it's squaring both Neptune and Chiron, which indicates a potential conflict over there in the 9th House.  This could be legal problems, cultural problems, or some other challenge holding you back in what could be a hurtful, disappointing, or damaging way.  However, this is not necessarily a red flag for the entire endeavor as there are several positive aspects as well, simply indicating this will be a mixed bag.

On the positive side, Saturn is sextile Mercury, indicating that news, information or ideas from someone close to you will provide an opportunity , perhaps how you come onto it in the first place; as always it's not so much what we know but whom we know.  There is also a nice Sextile Pattern creating a nice opportunity loop between the North Node, Uranus and the New Moon, further indicating something new and unexpected is coming into your life that will create opportunities careerwise or that will enhance your public image.  There might not be any money in it up front, which could create a problem, but other than that it looks like something the Universe is handing to you that you should consider very carefully.  Thus, both the Full and New Moon this month hold some interesting potential that will give you plenty to think about.
