Lunations and Long-term Aspects This month the Full Moon on November 2 occurs in Taurus, your 10th House of career and public image. Since a Full Moon indicates an ending, culmination, or shift to a different phase, you can expect to see something to that effect in that part of your life. Note that your status in the community is also a 10th House element which has multiple meanings. The simplest way to look at "status" is to think in terms of titles and labels. For example, when you graduate from school and become a "graduate," that affects your status. Likewise when you get married or divorced; become a parent or your children leave home; are promoted, lose your job or retire; become a landowner, are elected as a public official, and so forth. Any of these events or activities affect how you're viewed by the public and are included in your 10th House. Thus, as you're pondering how this Full Moon is manifesting in your life, consider any and all of these possibilities. As always, the aspects accompanying the Full Moon further color its influence. First of all, Mars is in Leo and forming a T-square with the Full Moon system, which comprises an opposition between the Sun and Moon. If your birthday is between July 29 - August 4, this will have a rather strong influence as Mars will be conjunct your Natal Sun, imbuing you with a significant amount of personal drive and energy. However, it is tied into the Moon in your 10th House of career and reputation and the Sun in your 4th House of home environment, instituting a tug-o-war between those two opposing venues and your personal ambitions, which may be torn between the two. Those three Houses, i.e. your 1st (personality), 4th (home environment) and 10th (career & public image), are angular Houses that inherently have a lot energy with the fourth being the 7th House of relationships. Consider that they are fundamental areas of you life that have significant and daily meaning with anything occurring within them likely to affect you at a deep and lasting level. Leos already have a temper and with Mars in your 1st House of personality (or especially parked on your Natal Sun), you will be particularly prone to be argumentative and angry, whether or not the cause justifies such a strong reaction. Bear in mind that you could do lasting damage to both your public image and family relationships if you don't keep this tendency under tight control, particularly during the first week of November when the aspect is exact. This is thus not a very favorable time to make emotional decisions, especially if they're based on anger, self-will, or frustrated ambitions. If at all possible, let things ride until you can think things through in a more logical manner or you're likely to regret it later. One thing that may assist your efforts not to react with anger is the fact that Venus is in your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, and short journeys. If you make the effort to be positive and reasonable with your thoughts, Venus will help you to do so. She is making some notable aspects during the Full Moon as well. First of all, she is squaring the North Lunar Node which is in your 6th House of work, health and pets. The North Node typically is activated when something new is coming into your life, the South Node when something is leaving. Since the Nodes are always in opposition, Venus is forming a T-Square with the two of them. This T-Square won't be as unfriendly as the one with Mars, however. Rather, this one, with Venus at the apex, is trying to direct you down new paths that originate with your thought process. If you're getting ready to start a new job or something that relates to your health, then the North Node's purpose is already quite clear. The South Node, however, is in your 12th House of spirituality, inspiration, dreams, confinement, institutions, self-undoing, and hidden enemies. This is a bit of a woo-woo house that defies clear description other than the fact these are conceptual and typically unseen or intangible entities. As the Lunar Nodes sweep in retrograde motion around the Zodiac they continually institute a tug-o-war between polar houses, which always relate to one another in some way. The 6th and 12th are more difficult to correlate than say, the 3rd of thoughts and ideas and the 9th of beliefs and expectations, but nonetheless it is there. The 6th House relates to our work and what we do, which will be the natural outgrowth of who and what we are at the spiritual level. Think of the 6th House as not only your job but also what keeps your occupied and your actions in general. In other words, what you do on a regular basis is going to be a reflection of your spiritual development. As one example, if you have a tendency to sabotage yourself, it's going to reflect in your work. Conversely, if you're an enlightened and inspired individual, this will likewise reflect in your work and actions. As something changes with your higher self, it will manifest in your work and actions. Most people are also aware how our health is also tied into our actions as well as our thoughts and emotions, which derive from our thoughts. Thus, these elements are tied together in a subtle but real manner. With the South Node in your 12th House indicating something is going out, hopefully that will be something negative as opposed to positive, but if it's something you would do better to retain, such as faith, then it will also have an unfavorable affect on your work and health. However, if you've allowed yourself to be trapped or confined by something and you break free, then you can see new horizons open up for your activities. Considering that friendly Venus is in the driver's seat, this should be something of a positive nature. Also connected with the North node is Uranus, planet of sudden change, the unexpected, and breaking free. These two are connected by sextile, which usually denotes an opportunity and with Uranus in your 8th House of transformations, intimate relationships, shared resources, sex, death and regeneration, look for some way you can change your thinking in a significant way and thus open up new doors. Venus is also trine Neptune and the asteroid, Chiron. This influence is dreamy and romantic, possibly to the point of being far too idealistic to be within the scope of reality. If you're an artist of some sort, this can be a very inspired time, but with these connections in your 7th House of relationships, it's more likely to reflect in that part of your life. If you recall the earlier explanation about angular houses and recall that the 7th is one of them, you can see how this area of your life is also being affected by the Full Moon, again possibly indicating an ending, culmination, or shifting to a new phase. The trine to Chiron can bring the resolution of a past hurt or disappointment, largely through having kind and compassionate thoughts in lieu of nursing the wounds brought on by damaged relationships and their offences. Forgiveness and a shifting of consciousness would be easily facilitated by these aspects, so if you are hanging onto old hurts, now would be an excellent time to make a concerted effort to let them go. This alone could constitute the transformation necessary to open up new doors of opportunity. One final hard aspect to be aware of with this lunation involved a square between Saturn and Pluto, two astrological "bad boys" who can institute experiences in the "hard lessons of life" category as necessary. If we take the hint and do the right thing, these won't be as painful, but if you hang on to old negative patterns of behavior sooner or later one or both of these will let you have it with a full frontal assault. In this case, Saturn has just entered Libra, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors and short journeys, the same house occupied by Venus. Saturn is the author of hard lessons. He insists upon structure, responsibility, and meeting your obligations as well as instituting delays while he makes sure we fully understand what needs to be done. Saturn will be in Libra until October 2012 with a brief stint back into Virgo during his next retrograde period, so you have plenty of time to restructure your thinking. Saturn's influence can be dark and heavy, promoting depression as he rubs your nose in past mistakes and their consequences with the magnitude directly proportionate to how badly you screwed up. If you believe in Hell or Purgatory, then consider that Saturn has a similar effect. If you haven't made any major mistakes, then his visit will be less onerous. Even if you find yourself thinking that you have died and gone to hell, rest assured that the future need not be a repeat of the past, provided you make the needed changes. Pluto has recently entered Capricorn (again), your 6th House of work, which is also where the North Node is located, implying something new coming in this area. Pluto, the Zodiacal roto-rooter, is actually about letting go of something old and worn out that no longer serves you to make room for something fresh and new, a concept that is very much in synch with the North Node. His digging can be uncomfortable and even painful, however, as he dredges through your past exposing various rotting skeletons. However, this allows you to resolve and rectify the past and move forward. Thus, with Pluto and Saturn working together over the next month or so, it will jump start the process of exposing old unresolved issues, taking care of business, then using any discomfort associated with the resolution to motivate a change in your thinking patterns that got you there in the first place. Remember, if you keep on doing what you've always done, you'll keep on getting what you've always got. If your life is satisfactory, you're happy as a clam, and all is well, then this transit will be little more than a minor housecleaning. However, if your life is a bit of a train wreck, this period will guide you in such a way to get back on a new track. The New Moon on November 16 occurs in Scorpio, your 4th House of home environment, indicating something new coming into this part of your life. This could be a person, a new home, or something else that affects your home in some way, perhaps even a major purchase that will change it in some way. Mars is still in your 1st House, this time in a degree that will have the strongest affect on those of you born within a day or so of August 6. Mars is square Venus, indicating the potential for arguments or confrontations with a female member of your household or perhaps financial issues that keep you from doing something you want. The Saturn - Pluto square is still in effect, as it will be until at least March 2010. Saturn is sextile Mercury, which provides an opportunity to communicate effectively such as in a heart to heart talk with your children, a romantic interest, or even with yourself. In view of everything else going on at this time, this dialog between your thoughts and your ego could be very useful for progressing. This could also pertain to any speculations you have, if you need to rework your portfolio. There's a Sextile Pattern, a highly fortuitous closed energy loop, that is circulating positive vibes between the New Moon, the North Node's function to bring something new into your work or health situation and Uranus in your 8th House of transformations. This can provide a significant burst of energy to make any positive changes. Throwing in the South Node creates a Triangle of Potential with the New Moon, another favorable aspect pattern, making whatever is dawning in your home environment key to making those changes in your life's direction. The New Moon is squaring Neptune and Chiron, both of which are in your 7th House of relationships as previously noted. This provides a warning against being too idealistic or acting like a martyr by nursing old wounds, which will keep you from making the changes necessary to pursue new and more profitable avenues. Clearly these lunations indicate the potential for challenges ahead, commensurate with whatever dirt or destruction you may have left behind. If this is not the case, then you have little if anything to worry about with these influences providing a few nudges to clean up what little might be there in order to maintain a toil-free and productive course. Short-term Aspects November 1: Arguments or disagreements on the homefront are likely unless you purposely direct that energy in a productive way. This is an excellent time to make sure that everything is operating properly and preparing your home for either winter or summer, depending on the hemisphere in which you live. November 2: Full Moon today as described above. November 3: Neptune comes out of retrograde and goes direct, allowing a clearer albeit idealistic view of those close to you. It will also allow you to employ a greater sense of compassion and understanding. November 5 - 7: Clear focus relative to your home environment will be possible during this period. If your home need improvement in any way, you will be able to identify what needs to be done. Thoughts regarding remodeling in a literal and figurative sense are likely. On the 7th Venus goes into Scorpio, enhancing the emotional climate of your home. November 8: Events or conversations will clearly reveal the need for changes. These need to start in the most fundamental areas, i.e. your thoughts, where you can begin resolving issues from the past that relate to your work and health. Ideas regarding how to improve your relationship with someone in your household can be developed for use in the days to come. Past events may bite you or create an annoyance or tension. It will be beneficial to try to think in a more positive manner and avoid being judgmental. Doing so will open the way for resolving something from the past. November 10 - 11: An event or incident at home will provide the situation to put your thoughts to work regarding how to improve one or more relationships. These conversations have the positive potential to effect transformational change upon all relevant parties. Any misperceptions or delusions need to be dispelled, whatever it takes. November 14: An emphasis on love and caring can effect more transformational change. Seeing things as they really are (or were) from all viewpoints can provide the understanding needed for a change of heart. November 15: Mercury goes into Sagittarius today, facilitating communications with your children, romantic interests, gathering data relative to your speculations, and self-analysis/understanding. Dark and heavy thoughts relative to past mistakes are likely. Your energy level will be low and discouragement likely. Remember that you can't change the past, but you can understand it well enough not to repeat it. November 16: New Moon today as described above. November 19 - 21: Interactions with the opposite sex are likely to be tense, particularly with those within your household. You may also want something quite badly that you can't afford and have a difficult time resisting the temptation to get it regardless. Annoyances and irritations at home will unearth old issues and thought patterns; use them as a reminder of things that need to change rather than falling into old self-defeating habits. November 23: Philosophical differences between you and someone in your household will spell conflict today. Keep an eye on your ego and how it may have gotten you into past situations that did not end well. November 24 - 25: Find some time during this period to get away and think about those things in your life that are causing difficulties at this time. Getting in touch with yourself objectively and identifying any thought patterns that require restructuring is favored which can help you get on course for positive change. Transforming how you see others in your household and family to a more objective and nonjudgmental view is a key step in this process. November 26: Another positive day for conversations with yourself and discovering how others see you. Ponder old situations that didn't turn out as you liked and change places with the other party for a new perspective. Focus on fairness and you'll make considerable progress, but avoid being too idealistic. November 29: Expanding upon a relationship is favored today by honestly communicating your true feelings. Avoid being too forceful or aggressive or getting riled up over past events that need to be resolved. Be assertive but avoid blaming or attacking if you want to make progress with the relationship and not just feed your ego. November 30: Transformational change regarding how you see the world or a specific situation is possible, provided you are entirely honest with yourself and don't get tangled up in your ego. Otherwise, an unexpected event may occur to get your attention and provide the needed perspective. Find out what to expect this coming year with a personalized Solar Return Report.
