Moon will often predispose a person to a considerable desire for extensive
travel. They will dream of it, plan for it, spend lots of money
they don't have on it, and cherish every moment of it. They'll
take lots of pictures and when they get home get enlargements of their
favorites, buy cheap frames and put them everywhere so they can relive
their experience multiple times. Being an exchange student is very
likely and a fascination with other cultures may drive their entire
mission in life. These are the folks that spend their life savings
or more on that brief trip to the International Space Station.
To these folks such an experience is beyond price!
Academia will feel SO good to these folks and learning will be a pleasure. What other more "normal" folks find boring, Sag Moon people will thrive upon. They'll even read the encyclopedia for pleasure, I kid you not. Intellectually they'll be a notch or two above average and know it. Their dreams and aspirations will be larger than life and they'll achieve them an amazing percentage of the time simply because they don't realize that what they want is impossible. If they're stuck in a mundane, heaven forbid, "normal" life, they'll be tremendously unhappy. They were made for bigger and better things and they know it.
They'll be fascinated by foreign and ancient cultures as well as world religions and what makes them tick. Their dream job may be archeology, Egyptology or some other exotic discipline. They may absolutely thrive on a career in the military and being stationed abroad or perhaps as a foreign missionary. In today's world, a desirable career could also be something like Space Law. After all, who has claim to the Moon? Or Mars? Does whoever gets there first have the right to put a military base there? Why or why not? What do you mean they can't build the Deathstar? Who owns outerspace or has the right to legislate its use? Oh, yes, these are the things these folks love.
Being a professional student has tremendous appeal. None of this "let me out of this place as soon as I've achieved the minimum credits" business for them. Learning is an adventure, albeit escape, that brings tremendous satisfaction. More than likely they'll take longer than usual to get through college and have credits to spare in a wide array of disciplines. Multiple majors or minors are also likely.
Depending on the Moon's House placement variations could occur. In the 1st, especially on the Ascendant, it will most likely incorporate all of the above and be the prime focus of their life. In the 2nd House, maybe they'll simply furnish their home or collect exotic pieces from around the world. In the 3rd, maybe learning a new language and becoming a specialist in a specific culture is enough. In the 4th, living abroad might be the dream of a lifetime; in the 5th, maybe they'll adopt children from a foreign land or be attracted to someone from a different culture or collect exotic art. In the 6th, they're likely to seek a job involving foreign travel, such as an import/export business; in the 7th, cross-cultural marriage or other partnership. In the 8th, again romantic attraction to those from abroad, an interest in extinct civilizations or foreign investments. In the 9th, which is Sag's native Zodiacal domain, again, all of the above; in the 10th, a career addressing these areas or possibly as a preacher or missionary; in the 11th, extensive association with foreigners, academia or the law. In the 12th, well this gets a bit weird, but more than likely all the Sagittarian affinities, whether foreign travel or visiting a law library or someplace like Washington, D.C., could result in a very profound, déjà-vu or spiritual experience to which the person would feel exceptionally drawn without knowing why.
Sagittarius is a Fire Sign and thus never boring. They're dynamic, slightly ADHD, and very bright. Regardless of their Sun Sign or Rising, they'll have interesting dreams, aspirations, and heart's desires that may never be fulfilled if they don't have a tremendous amount of courage, self-confidence and self-esteem to make them happen. They'll be different and most people will not relate to them at all. They may feel lonely, but never inferior, only that everyone else is out of step and missing a lot.
When your Moon Progresses into Sagittarius an interest in all the above is likely. Someone who has never had any desire whatsoever to leave their home town may go on an excursion abroad, perhaps for months. The study of law may become a fetish or they may go back to school. Whatever the effect, depending on the House placement, they should enjoy and exploit it because it will only last two to two and a half years, and not return for as long as two decades. And this is the stuff that memories and dreams are made of.
As Goethe so profoundly stated (though no one has ever been able to document it, it sounds like something he would say), "Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative and creation, there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. Begin it now!"
