Libra - Pisces

What you like about each other:  Both have a gentle nature that will make them very comfortable together.  Libra likes to talk and Pisces is a good listener.

What drives you crazy:  Pisces emotions and Libra's forensic approach to conflicts, Libra's inability to confront their own.

On the surface it would appear that these two basically gentle souls would get along quite well, and indeed they can.  There's a healthy Cardinal-Mutable mix, which will usually assure no power struggles.  Venus is a rather pleasant ruling planet, though it can sometimes predispose its subjects to overindulgence.  Libra resides in the 7th house of relationships, which involves partnerships and serious relationships such as marriage (love affairs are covered by the 5th House).  Thus, Libra is all about relationships and is extremely lost without one.  They love people generally, like to talk and cannot stand contention.  If they're involved with discord of any kind, even as an observer, they will do everything in their power to resolve it.  As an Air sign, their logic is sound and their communication skills well-developed.  They do not take sides and will do their best to be fair to all parties, listen to everyone's story and then try to get everyone to agree to a solution.  This all sounds very benevolent and like the kind of person everyone would love to have in their family and workplace, right?  Wrong.  The catch is that sometimes they are viewed as two-faced since they do such a good job of assimilating others' viewpoints.  Some folks expect you to takes sides, or more specifically side with them, and don't give a flip about the other side of the argument.  When poor Libra winds up in that unfortunate position you can expect a real train wreck on all sides.  And someone who's very likely to precipitate that scenario is Pisces.

Pisces lives in the 12th house of the subconscious, hidden elements, inner struggles, anxiety, care and limitations.  As if that's not taxing enough, they're a Water sign and totally immersed in their feelings.  Thus, if a Pisces is involved in a disagreement they will usually be emotionally involved and take it very personally.  Then Libra comes along and tries very hard to be logical and objective.  Sounds great except this can be interpreted as opposition by the Pisces.   Fish believe if you can understand someone's viewpoint then you agree with it and if it's contrary to their interest, whatever that may be, then Libra is against them as well.  Remember that Pisces is ruled by Neptune, which is totally lacking in any logical vibes whatsoever.   This is the planet of fantasy, illusion, imagination, intuition, and if afflicted, delusion.  These people run with gut feelings as a matter of course and are logically challenged. 

What I'm getting at with all this background is that these two very nice people could get into a very major disagreement all because the Fish feels persecuted if Libra doesn't take sides, which a Libra is totally wont to do.  These peace-loving, 7th House folks want justice and fairness for all.  And when someone expects them to take sides, then the Libra is the one in apoplectic shock.  And as good as Libras are at throwing logic at problems, if they're emotionally involved in something themselves, then their logic circuits start blowing breakers.  Libras are rarely speechless except when they're dealing with their own emotions.  How can you be fair to someone who's attacking you?  Yet they'll try, and get into this core value versus ego do-loop that shuts them down entirely, a rare occurrence for an Air sign.

Do not think for a moment that I'm saying these two should stay as far apart as possible.  There are a few signs where that is probably true, but not necessarily this one.  If anyone is in touch with their emotions, it's Pisces and if there's anyone in touch with logic, it's Libra, so clearly these two can learn a lot from each other.  Forewarned is forearmed and they simply need to realize there are some fundamental differences between them that all those other common traits could mask.  And that logic/emotion interface can be a pretty uncomfortable place to be.
