What you like about each other: Both are conservative on a fundamental level. Virgo natural charm and the capability they exude will be attractive to Scorpio. Virgo will like the Scorpion mystique and emotional intensity, that might be able to penetrate the Earth sign control.
What drives you crazy: Scorpio obsessions and scheming, which goes into an intangible sphere that is foreign to Virgo's practical nature.
This is one of those sextile patterns that theoretically "works." In this case, I’m not so sure. Anything is possible, I suppose, if they can keep a positive attitude and their negative traits under control, which, of course would make any relationship work. That is called pure, unadulterated L-O-V-E and is not only rare but hard to sustain, particularly when there are some traits that could really aggravate the other to the point where they get on each other’s nerves on a regular basis. For example, the way they walk or breathe.
Virgo is ruled by Mercury and Scorpio by Pluto. While these planets are about the same size and aren’t exactly arch-enemies, they don’t necessarily blend well, either. One is the fastest in its journey around the Sun, the other the slowest, at least that we know of. But then I’m not sure anything blends well with Pluto. Mars does in its own way, but those two together generally mean death and destruction. Communication skills are Mercury’s bailiwick as well as various other things like the mechanical and electronic world, which especially becomes apparent when Mercury goes retrograde and all those things run amuck. Since Virgos are perfectionists, no doubt Mercury has something to do with that as well, possibly the concept of things being done correctly and working well together. At any rate, that is Virgo’s obsession.
But then obsession is really Pluto’s realm. No one can obsess like a Scorpio and once they get on to something that bothers them they’re going to grind away at it until the entire planet is one gigantic dust bunny circling the Sun. Usually something stops them before then, but in principle it’s certainly possible.
Scorpio is a Water sign, meaning they’re ruled by emotion, i.e. will go with their gut feeling rather than their brain every time, and their emotions run exceptionally deep. In spite of that lethal tail of theirs, they can get their feelings hurt easier than you would expect and when that happens look out. For whatever reason, perhaps because Pluto takes over 280 years to circle the Sun, they tend to procrastinate. And here we have the catalyst for problems because if there’s anything Virgo will gritch about ‘til the cows come home it’s not getting something done on time and done right.
So let’s look at that as an equation. Scorpio Procrastination + Virgo Criticism = Scorpio Tail Lashing + Virgo Tongue Lashing = Scorpio Obsessing on Virgo Faults + Frugal, Detail-oriented Virgo Working on Do-It-Yourself Divorce papers.
Do the math and decide for yourself on this one.
