Event Chart (Whole Sign Houses)

Clearly this chart, show at right, is not a friendly chart which displays similar characteristics to the one for Tuscaloosa but doesn't quite form a Grand Square or Cross though multiple oppositions and squares are present with Cardinal angles and an 8th House Sun.

Event Chart (Placidus)

Using the Placidus house system (left), the Aries planets shift to the 6^th house which includes the working class and farmers as well as healthcare, all greatly affected by this disaster.  Pluto shifts to the 3^rd house indicating fundamental destruction with regard to communications, schools and roads.  The Moon, Chiron and Neptune now in the 5^th suggest the involvement of children.  Saturn in the 12th suggests the burden placed on local hospitals and other institutions as well as implying a "hidden enemy."  The Sun is now in the 7th, slightly less ominous than the 8th.

Like Tuscaloosa, Birmingham had other factors which brought this violent storm to its door.   Birmingham was incorporated on December 19, 1871; it’s unknown what time the city was actually incorporated, so a noon chart is used and shown below as a sunrise chart with the Sun on the Ascendant.  The bi-wheel to the right with the transits for the day and time of the tornado show numerous clashes between the charts.  Venus as the Goddess of War appropriately placed in Aries is in partile conjunction with Birmingham's Moon.  In addition, a plethora of warning squares reinforce a T-square between Warrior Venus and the Moon coupled with a Saturn - Saturn square and transiting Pluto conjunct Saturn.  Another partile aspect, transiting Jupiter conjunct Birmingham's Neptune, forms a Triangle of Potential with the Lunar Nodes, contributing another powerful life-changing aspect.
