Lunations and Long-term Aspects The Full Moon on April 6 is in Libra, your 6th house of work, health, service and pets. Saturn has been retrograde in your sign for quite a while so it's highly likely that there is a lot going on in this part of your life. This lunation should bring an ending, culmination, or shift to a new phase, so watch for it. The Sun is in Aries, your 12th house of angels and demons for this occasion so something from that part of your life is likely to manifest as well. For those of you unfamiliar with the "angels and demons" reference, this house includes enlightenment, inspiration, dreams, spirituality, collective consciousness, transcendence, institutions, seclusion, confinement, hidden enemies and self-undoing. There is an ongoing aspect coming upon you that is going to last until late December which you should be aware of so as it recognize its effects and use them constructively. This involves a square between Uranus and Pluto, two outer planets which move rather slowly and are retrograde several months a year. Uranus is in Aries, your 12th house, as defined above. As the planet of upsets, disturbances, innovation, technology, explosions, breaking away, rebellion, freedom, surprises and unexpected events this will stir up this part of your life for quite a while to come. Uranus is unpredictable by nature but not necessarily bad by any means. While he doesn't have any trouble blowing his way through a wall or two, especially while he's in Aries, he can often bring you just what you need but without introduction or any frills. For example, if you've confined yourself in any manner expect those walls to come down suddenly and without warning and expose the blinding light of day. Pluto, while his energy is entirely different, can work together quite effectively with Uranus' work in your 12th house to expose anything that needs attention because it wasn't properly resolved. Pluto is in fellow Earth Sign, Capricorn, your 9th house of higher learning, beliefs, expectations, philosophy of life, other cultures, relocation, long-distance travel and legal matters as well as religion and politics, as if this house didn't already contain enough. If there is anything in this part of your life which has a few gremlins hidden away Pluto will dig them out and expose them, perhaps with a vengeance. You may find that your political or religious beliefs or philosophy of life undergoes a major transformation during this transit. Things you've ignored or buried will demand attention and resolution. Combining these two influences will have a deep and lasting effect on you and your view of the world. Lessons and insights will be deeply set within your essence and you may feel as if you're a different person, at the least more enlightened, that you were before, perhaps because you had this persistent blind spot which needed to be eradicated. As a Fixed Sign, especially if you also have Mercury in Taurus along with your Sun, you are not well-disposed to change. Your motto may well be "Change is Bad" or as we used to say when I was at NASA "Mutatio Malus," our perverted Latin interpretation of the same phrase. Thus, if there is something stuck in your spiritual or philosophical craw, this transit is going to smack you on the back and get rid of it, in spite of any resistance you may put forth. Also associated with this lunation is a T-square which comprises your sign ruler, Venus in Gemini, at the apex with support coming from Mars retrograde in Virgo and Neptune who is now comfortably established in his home sign of Pisces. Gemini is your 2nd house of income, possessions, finances, comforts and pleasures and the house Taurus rules in the natural zodiac. Venus in this house will thus enhance and embellish this part of your life. You may feel a bit lazy and unmotivated and more inclined toward relaxation, good food, and various other indulgences. Heaven help you if you're trying to start a diet because it's going to be a struggle. Mars retrograde in Virgo, your 5th house of ego development, children, romance, entertainment, creativity and speculation, isn't helping much with drive and energy. This will further work against any efforts directed toward accomplishing something. Neptune in Pisces, your 11th house of friends, groups, organizations, networking and goals is in much the same fix given the dreamy nature of this planet/sign combination. This placement implies that the people who reside in the astrological house are probably not helping the situation any but rather enticing you away from something you should be doing instead, whatever it might be. Normally you would think these three things working together should be a good thing but given that they're a T-square it may not have the favorable results you would expect with a grand trine. You may well encounter a few problems due to you lack of ambition, especially if it involves such things as deadlines such as your income tax return, if you're in the USA. You may also overlook an opportunity or something else beneficial simply because you don't have the motivation to act upon it. Remember that windows of opportunity do eventually close and that procrastination can be your greatest enemy and the down side of your laid-back nature. In this case, Uranus may actually come to your rescue. Something may actually come along that spurs you toward that financial benefit Venus is waving in front of your face and you may get enough gumption to step away from your favorite TV show long enough to change directions and do what needs to be done. Thus, if you feel an impulse to do something, take heed and act accordingly or you may be sorry later. The New Moon on April 21 is in your sign and will be right on your natal Sun for those of you born within a day or so of that day. In fact, you are likely to have this New Moon as part of your Solar Return and thus with you all year which will tend to open any number of new doors for you in the coming months. If you've been stuck in a rut, this should help you dig your way out once and for all. By this time Mars has gone direct which will further energize your motivation which has been idling in neutral for several months. If you have a creative project you want to go after or something involving your children, romance or some other pursuit this is a great time to take action. Mercury and Uranus are conjunct in Aries, your 12th house, which are likely to provide the boot in the rear you may need to get going through a surprise of some sort, though this could even come in the form of a dream of flash of insight or inspiration which sets you off. Certainly not a bad thing! Neptune may still be a bit of a distraction by providing a bit too much inspiration and will require conscious balance. Keep your goals realistic while allowing the inspiration to flow. Just don't spend all your time daydreaming as opposed to taking action. |
