What you like about each other: Virgo's organization and attention to detail, practicality, subdued emotions and logic. Aries' enthusiasm, spontaneity, energy and optimism.

What drives you crazy: Too neat/too sloppy, worry too much/worry too little, too emotional/unemotional, too noisy/too quiet, Virgo criticism, Aries temper.

This is a somewhat unlikely mix, but it can work if the Ram will realize that it's much easier to run up the side of a mountain (a.k.a. Earth sign) as opposed to into it. Aries are natural leaders but the resistance they can get from a Virgo could make them crazy. Don't get me wrong, Virgo's are hard workers. After all, they reside in the 6th House of work, health and pets. But the Virgo dilemma is that they want to do everything exactly right and sometimes they never get started because they're too intimidated by what it will take to do it perfectly. I know someone that has been trying to repaint the inside of their house for years but her Virgo husband never has time because he wants to do it "right." "Right" means sanding down all the rough spots in the walls, masking the woodwork and windows, taking the doors off the hinges and of course the Herculean task of picking a color you won't get tired of for at least ten years. Virgos get tired before they even start, thinking about everything they need to do.

The point I'm trying to make is that the Ram is going to have to get the task started and then nudge the Virgo into helping. It won't matter if it's something that needs to get done around the house or if they're in business together, Aries will have to take the lead and also make sure the Virgo gets lots of praise and encouragement for the great job they're doing. Virgos are more self-critical than anyone and they need reassurance that their work is good enough. If they get enough positive reinforcement they may, with time, be able to let go of some of that perfectionism. And the Ram could definitely be the one to accomplish this, unless the Virgo negativity becomes more than s/he can stand.

Rams need lots of praise, even more than the other Fire signs, and since Virgo's specialty is criticism, this isn't exactly a match made in heaven. Virgos are one of those people that just take doing a good job for granted. If you do anything wrong, you'll hear about it and if you do a really superior job they may acknowledge it, but giving praise as a matter of course just ain't gonna happen anytime soon. So the Ram is going to have to prompt Virgo with such statement as, "Didn't I do a great job fixing the car, honey?" or "Aren't you proud of me for winning the Pulitzer Prize?" and then learn to be satisfied with "Of course, I am, darling," as opposed to the gushing and spewing of compliments that they really want to hear. Aries also have an emotional need to be reminded frequently that you still love them while Virgo is one of those that's inclined to say, "I told you once and if I change my mind I'll let you know."

So this couple will have its challenges, but they could work well together if each will learn to understand the other and make the effort necessary to nurture the relationship. This is one combination that really requires that both parties be deeply in love with each other to make it work. Otherwise it has the potential to become rather unpleasant if those incompatible traits clash.
