February 2007 Forecast

Key Events:

Full Moon 2/01/2007

New Moon 2/17/2007

Mercury Retrograde 2/14/2007

The Full Moon in Leo on February 1st falls in your Natural 3rd House of mental activity, neighbors and short journeys.  This is home base for Gemini in the Universal House scheme so it should be quite favorable for you, especially for Twins born May 28 - June 3, give or take a day or two.  Expect to be particularly quick thinking and perceptive immediately following that event and put the mental stimulation and information you gather to good use.  This will give you at least a temporary breath of fresh air, considering that Saturn is still retrograde in that same general neighborhood.  This phenomenon was discussed last month, so to avoid needless repetition, which I know bores you, check it out.  The nutshell version is your thought processes in general are being affected but will return to normal plus some in a few months.  Most Geminis could use a little stability so this is actually a good thing.

The New Moon on February 17 is in Aquarius, your Natural 9th House of higher education, foreign/long distance travel and legal matters.  This could usher in some new or different happenings in one or more of these areas.  Note that lunations occur in polar signs and houses, which relate to each other in one way or another.  In this case the Full Moon, which often signals a conclusion of some sort, is in your mental activity house and the New Moon, which often heralds a new phase or beginning, is in your higher education and legal house.  Perhaps you'll decide to go back to school, initiate legal action of some sort or go on a trip abroad.  In many cases something that has been in-work but seemingly delayed for no logical reason will suddenly get the go-ahead as soon as a lunation occurs in the relevant house.

Your ruling planet, Mercury, is also in you Natural 9th House and will enhance communications and data gathering in this area.  At least for a while.  Come February 14, this will grind to a screeching halt when your buddy, Mercury, goes into one of his famous retrograde (RX) cycles, which will last until March 8.  Note this falls right before that New Moon on the 17th, so whatever you decide to initiate with the New Moon probably will be figuratively stuck in the mud until after March 8.  Mercury RX is no fun for anyone, but especially for Geminis and Virgos, whom he rules.  This will mess with your head in more than one way that will be very frustrating, but you've been there before and you can thank your lucky stars that it only lasts for three weeks.  For comparison, Saturn is up to his RX'ing tricks over the period of several months.

Also hanging out in Aquarius is Neptune.  Neptune is one of those outer planets that moves very slowly so he has been there for quite some time and will not be leaving anytime soon.  Neptune affects your ideals and dreams, tending toward being somewhat unrealistic at times as well.  If some of your 9th House activities are colored with a bit of fantasy that you don't entirely understand, being the logical person that Geminis usually are, that is your explanation.  Now, doesn't that make you feel better?  Knowing the reason usually helps sort unusual behavior into a slightly more comfortable mold.  If your friends look at your funny, just tell them you're really not going crazy (though Neptune can do that, too), it's just planetary transits.  I'm sure they'll understand.

Mars is transiting your Natural 8th House of sex, death, transformation and other people's money until the 26th, which will throw some extra energy and perhaps even a touch of aggression into this area.  Your libido is likely to be high during this time and you'll have some extra drive and ambition toward the other areas as well.  If you're trying to borrow money this will make you pursue it with a lot of assertion.  Just don't get too pushy with the folks at the bank or mortgage company or you're likely to wind up with a 10th House lesson regarding who's really in charge of the world.

This month should be a good one for your career and reputation, even if your mental processes are bouncing around a bit because of Mercury's antics.  Venus is in your Natural 10th House until the 21st which should cast you in a favorable light to your boss and other authority figures you may encounter along the way (unless you get too pushy at the bank).  Uranus has been in this neighborhood for a while now and has probably been instituting various changes and unexpected happenings.  With Venus there as well any disruptions should ultimately turn out to be favorable in nature.  This is especially likely to occur around February 6 - 8 when those two planets will be in conjunction.  The Sun moves into Pisces on February 19th, which will give this house added emphasis as well, so be prepared, something is likely to happen relative to your career or community status.

If there's one area of your life that seems to be undergoing major changes these days it is probably your relationships.  These are not necessarily of the romantic variety, though they could be.  However, any one-on-one type interactions fall in this same area.  Jupiter has been transiting Sagittarius since last November and chances are you've seen various developments relative to the people close to you in either a personal or business sense.  Jupiter is a benefic planet that usually brings good fortune and also expands what he encounters along the way.  This could motivate you to examine your criteria for a good relationship or move forward on one.  This is the good news.

The bad news is that long before Jupiter made his entrance, Pluto was already lurking in your 7th House.  Pluto, who is still probably pissed off because of his demotion last year to dwarf planet, is more than likely going through your relationships like a rototiller in a graveyard, exhuming all sorts of old, decomposed elements and dropping them on your front porch.  Any of you who have ever had a cat can also compare this to when they'll leave a dead rat on your doorstep as a present.  The good news is that ultimately this all comes out to your benefit, somewhat like lancing a boil.  All that crap needs to come out before it can heal properly.  So once you've dealt with past baggage that is holding you back, you'll undergo a figurative transformation that will prepare you to move on in a very positive way.  Jupiter may move things along a little quicker by helping you to understand what you need to let die so you can find new life in your relationships.  Trust the Universe that when all is said and done that you'll be in better shape in your relationships than you've been in the past.  Easier said than done, I know, but you really don't have much choice in the matter since the planets go where they go with little regard to whether we like it or not.

Knowing that Geminis don't like to be bored, rest assured this month will not be dull.  It will have peaks and valleys, but stay focused on the positive and make sure you look far enough down the road to see if you're going in the right direction or not.  If so, carry on; if not, now's a good time to figure out where you should be.
