December 2006 Forecast

Key Events:

Full Moon 12/04/2006

New Moon 12/20/2006

Saturn Retrograde 12/06/2006

Virgos start out the month with your ruling planet, Mercury, in your Natural 3rd House of intellect and mental activity.  This means that you will be even sharper than usual, including your exceptional memory, at least until December 8th.  Mars is also there, however, until the 6th, which might make you more irritable that usual (face it, you're not the most easy-going person on the block), especially with people who are a little too slow, too lazy or too stupid (which for you is 90% of the population).  Just remember that it IS the Christmas season and you really should at least TRY to be nice.  If you get really restless or bored, which is pretty likely, pick up a word puzzle book, Sudoku, a crossword puzzle or even a jigsaw puzzle.  You'll find you do even better than usual and that the mental action is relaxing.  Those around you will also appreciate the quiet.

The Full Moon occurs in Gemini, your Natural 10th House of reputation and community standing, on December 4th.  This could highlight something relative to your career such as a recent accomplishment or other contribution.  This will be particularly likely if your birthday is around the last few days of August and first week of September.  You know you deserve it, workaholic that you are, so no matter how small the kudos are, be grateful and accept it graciously.  That means no muttering, "So how much will my raise be this year?" as you shake the boss' hand.

There is quite a bit of action in Sagittarius, your Natural 4th House, which rules your home environment.  Pluto has been there for quite sometime now and has probably caused a problem here and there, whether it was bad plumbing, cockroach invasions, nasty-grams from your landlord or homeowner association and so forth.  No, he's not going away anytime soon, but the good news is that he is no longer alone and the current visitors will bring some positive energy that way.

The Sun, for example, which has been there since November 23.  This will highlight this area, which isn't much of a surprise since it's the holidays, unless you're really into the Scrooge role this year.  Jupiter is also there and he is generally quite lucky.  He tends to expand any influence, usually in a good way.  You're safe for now, because he moves slowly and will be there a while, but when he's in conjunction with Pluto, about a year from now, beware of giant cockroaches.  Venus is there as well until December 11, and she's also a benefic planet.  You know, all that Goddess of Love stuff, and she's also favorably inclined toward your possessions, so be sure to tell Santa what you want.  Mars moves in on the 6th, which could intensify male-female relationships for a few days until Venus moves on, but not necessarily in a bad way.  The New Moon on the 20th will add some further emphasis on this area, but unfortunately it will be quite close to Pluto, so keep the bug spray handy and check that Christmas tree for unwelcome stowaways.

As Mercury and the Sun join Venus in Capricorn later in the month you will see some pleasant emphasis on 5th House issues which include your children (if you have any), your lovelife (if you have one), and your creativity (if you have any).  Now will be a good time for you to express some long-overdue appreciation to those you really care a lot about but don't tell them as often as you should.

Saturn goes retrograde in your 12th House, which affects your subconscious, on December 6th.  This happens every year so it's nothing particularly new.  Each year it will occur in a different House, however, so it will be experienced slightly differently each time so you never entirely get used to it.  What it does is isolate something that needs to be reworked and lets your subconscious work on it for several months, in this case until at least the first day of spring, i.e. April 21.  At that time you may have a slight revelation regarding what it's been working on.  If you can't figure it out then, by July it will be obvious and you'll feel slightly older and much wiser.  There's nothing much you can do about it, but if you feel a little bummed out from time to time and don't know why, this will probably be the reason.  Just let Saturn do his thing and await the outcome when the weather warms up.  You can't do anything about it, something that Virgos hate, but it's pretty hard to argue with a planet.

This month you need to sit back and relax and enjoy all the pleasant activities going on with your family.  It should be a very friendly and memorable holiday season so take lots of pictures to enjoy later.  Next month many of those planets will move into Capricorn, your 5th House, which should also mean pleasant times, so at least for now, look favorably toward the stars and give it one of those beautiful Virgo smiles.
