February 2007 Forecast

Key Events:

Full Moon 2/01/2007

New Moon 2/17/2007

Mercury Retrograde 2/14/2007

Lunations this month seem to emphasize the work - home polarity.  In today's world this is a common dilemma and February is likely to bring your attention to it in some manner.  The Full Moon on February 1 occurs in your Natural 10th House of career, reputation and community status.  Full Moons often signal the culmination or completion so if you've been working on a work or career-related project lately, perhaps it's time to finish it up.

However, you still have retrograde (RX) Saturn in this same House.  When Saturn goes RX it usually generates deep introspection at the subconscious level relative to some element of the subject House.  You probably are not even aware that these ruminations are going on other than to possibly feel a bit restless or unsatisfied in that area.  This will go on until April 20 or so when Saturn will once again assume direct motion.  At this time you'll recognize what has been bothering you and whatever course of action you devise should be on it's way to completion by the end of July, when Saturn once again reaches the position where he was when the RX period began.

The majority of astrological action is currently in Aquarius, your Natural 4th House, which governs your home environment, past and present.  The Sun will be there until February 19, which always tends to throw literal and figurative light on a few things related to the subject house.  Sometimes this is a very favorable period and others it highlights areas that need attention and subsequent "fixing."  Neptune is there as well, which may not be a good thing.  While Neptune can encourage our dreams and idealism, he can also shove us toward various forms of disillusionment and cause us to view life through a very distorted lens.  No matter what he does, reality is usually not included.  While it's nice to think of having the ideal home, chances are it's not and probably needs some work.  Make sure that you address any problems in that area in a fully rational, logical manner.  This is not always easy with people that are very close to you and especially when you're a water sign that has strong emotions.  Especially make sure that you're not delusional, in denial or refusing to see a problem that could be right under your nose.

Mercury is also in Aquarius, which facilitates communications and data exchanges, which is good.  At least it is until February 14, when the little booger goes retrograde again.  IMHO that is a pretty crappy Valentine.  As you may or may not recall, Mercury RX affects everyone.  Of course those ruled by him or have heavy influences in their chart are hit a bit harder because their mental processes are affected, but everyone else feels it in the world at large.  Computers, TVs, cell phones, cars, cable services, traffic signals, appliances and just about anything else electronic or mechanical that affects communications, data or information transfer that you can think of go psycho.

In a nutshell, it is not a fun time.  Plus all the Virgos and Geminis you know are in a bad mood or ditzi as hell, adding to the confusion.  So brace yourself, here it comes again.  In the event that any of the aforementioned items crater, do NOT replace it before March 8 unless you absolutely have to.  And if you do, make sure you have an airtight warranty because you're going to need it.  If you have not already mailed your tax return by February 14, I also recommend holding off until March 8.  If there is one thing that Mercury RX is good for, and believe or not there is at least one, that is to redo, rewrite, revise and edit.  So go over that 1040 and all associated forms with a fine tooth comb before sending it to your friends at the IRS.

The New Moon on the 17th is also in this house.  Even as Full Moons usually indicate culmination of a phase of some activity, New Moons S usually herald the beginning of a new one.  All this emphasis in this area is likely to get your attention in some manner that will trigger your resolve to do something differently.  Think about it and use it to your advantage.  If your birthday falls between November 19 - 24 that New Moon will square your Natal Sun and possibly force the issue.  So that's the scoop on your Natural 4th House.  The good, the bad and the ugly.

Mars, former ruler of Scorpio, is in your Natural 3rd House which rules your mental processes.  As you probably already know, Mars brings a lot of energy, drive and ambition to this area.  Misused it can become aggression.  Use it in a positive way because you certainly have a lot to think about this month, but aggression may not be what you need to solve it.

In the good news department, Venus, Goddess of Love, is transiting your Natural 5th House until February 21. This House rules your children, lovelife, creativity, entertainment and hobbies.  Having Venus there is definitely a good thing.  Take advantage of it and enjoy it for what it's worth.  It might even give you a refuge of sorts for that first week that Mercury is misbehaving.  Uranus, planet of change, surprises, unexpected events, upsets and considerable ridicule because of his name, is also in your 5th House.  While he often causes disruptions we don't like, not all change or surprises are bad and with Venus along side him and in fellow water sign, Pisces, which trines Scorpio, any changes or surprises should be good ones.  On the 21st Venus moves into your 6th House of work, health and pets in the small animal department, which should also bring favorable events.

And then there's Pluto, your ruling planet, or should I say the recently-demoted-to-dwarf planet.  He is still pissed off about that, I'm sure, and any astrologer can tell you that as Pluto's influence goes it is one case in which size definitely doesn't matter.  He may be small and slow but he can grind away on something you'd just as soon ignore until you would rather suck a lit road flare than deal with his influence one more day.  While as far as I know no one has ever died from a Pluto transit, there are times when you wish you could.  You're actually somewhat lucky in that he's slogging along in your 2nd House of possessions, non-sexual pleasures and indulgences.  This will make you think long and hard about how important these things are to you and provide the opportunity to revise those opinions.  Like the proverbial bull in a china shop, Pluto will make a considerable mess that forces you to decide what to keep and what to ditch.  Your priorities will probably undergo an adjustment but when all is said and done you'll be better off.  Currently Jupiter is also in that same neighborhood, however, and has been since November, which should bring some good fortune your way.

All in all it should be an interesting month with a lot of focus on your home and career.  Use that mental energy wisely and enjoy your Venus transit as much as possible, which I'm sure is well within the capability of any Scorpio.
