The House where all the action is for Virgos this month is your Natural 6th, which governs your work, health and pets. If these sounds like areas that are among your favorites it's because Virgo is the Ruler of the Universal 6th House and yes, you do indeed excel in these areas. You're among the hardest working, most health-conscious, animal loving people on the planet. These areas will be highlighted by the Sun until the 19th, when Ol' Sol moves into Pisces. There is probably quite a bit going on there for you this month. Activities related to your job are probably quite busy and you may be receiving some well-deserved credit for all your hard work. Even though such accolades and attention may embarrass you from time to time, you still enjoy being appreciated and noticed, at least once in a while. Since Virgos tend to take reasonably good care of themselves and usually have cabinets well-stocked with vitamins, herbs and minerals, your health is probably fairly good as well. If perchance you ate a bit too much over the holidays and ought to dump some weight, now is a good time, not only because of the Sun but also because of the New Moon, which occurs in Aquarius on February 17th. So if you need to diet, Get ready, Set, Go! Just about the time when you might be getting bored with it the New Moon should give you a well-timed shot in the arm, or perhaps kick in the butt, whichever is the more apropos, and help you stick with it until you reach your goal weight. Knowing Virgos, you might worry too much about eating EXACTLY the right amount of calories, carbs, fats and fiber and beat yourself up when you don't get it exactly right. Being a perfectionist, don't be too hard on yourself if you mess up every now and then, the overall trend is what counts. Neptune is also in your 6th House, which may be a bit of a detriment. He tends to make you a touch too idealistic, dreamy or perhaps even disillusioned. In the context of a diet this could mean anything from being too anal about what you eat to the opposite extreme of thinking that cheating really won't matter, especially if you eat it when no one is looking. You'd do well to channel this energy to fantasies of how great you'll look when you're done and then stick to your diet plan in a reasonable way. In the work context, the effects are similar. Don't be too hard on coworkers, expecting them to be as hardworking, detail-oriented and perfectionistic as you are. Unless they're fellow Virgos, that just ain't gonna happen. And don't be too self-effacing about your good work, either, thinking that surely everyone will notice what a great job you're doing. No, bosses tend more to think "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" and may not even notice what a fantastic employee you are until something goes wrong. And go wrong it might. I hate to tell you this, but your ruling planet, Mercury, is up to its usual tricks again. He, too, is in your 6th, and while this will enhance your communication and data efforts until Valentine's Day, from that point until March 8th things will probably suck like a day old calf because he's going retrograde (RX) again. So half of February and the first week of March is probably going to be filled with one frustration after another. You get frustrated enough with the world's imperfections as it is, but when Mercury RX puts it in total disarray, your bitch-n-worry factor goes up an order of magnitude. If misery loves company, which I suspect applies especially to Virgos, you can rest assured that the rest of the world will be suffering along with you in one way or another. For one thing they're going to have to put up with YOU, who will be in a horrific mood and far from charming to be around. But on top of that, all those disruptions and problems that are characteristic of Mercury RX will be disseminated in a homogenous manner, much like the manure spreaders I remember seeing when I lived out in the country. Some of the typical hassles we'll all be prey to include breakdowns of communications of all kinds as well as anything electronic or mechanical. This includes computers, cars, traffic signals, cell phones, radios, TVs, your internet or cable service, major and minor appliances and so forth. My Palm Pilot went psycho the last Mercury RX and has never recovered. If something dies and it doesn't need to be replaced right away, wait until after March 8 to do so. If you absolutely cannot wait, be sure to get the best, most air-tight warranty possible because you'll probably need it. If it's your car that dies, it would probably pay off in the long run to rent one until March 8 other than get stuck with a lemon that will haunt you for years. Believe it or not, Mercury RX is good for something and that is to redo, rewrite, revise or edit something you've been working on. If you don't get your tax return off before the 14th, you should do exactly that until March 8th or you may be asking for trouble. I would definitely avoid doing taxes during the RX period unless you're simply rechecking your figures, which would be typical of a Virgo anyway. To start working on them at that time would require a masochistic streak, or a genuine interest in meeting someone who actually works for the IRS. The good news for the month is that Venus will be transiting your Natural 7th House of relationships until the 21st, so that takes the edge off of one week of Mercury RX at least. This may make Valentine's Day really special for you and help you forget at least momentarily what that other planet is up to. Uranus is also in your 7th and since he's another slow mover, he'll be there for a while. He's the planet of change, unexpected events, upsets and surprises. While planners like Virgos don't like surprises as a rule, with Venus in the same neighborhood maybe this month at least the surprises will be good ones. Mars is in your Natural 5th House until the 26th which covers your children, lovelife, creativity and hobbies. This will give you a bit of extra energy in this area, but make sure you channel it in a positive way or it might simply make you aggressive and more prone to temper fits, especially after RX-Day on the 14th. Learn to count to ten in at least five languages or take up a sport of some kind where you can vent some of the energy in a constructive fashion. Jupiter and Pluto are still in your Natural 4th House, which governs your home environment. Jupiter, who has been in Sagittarius since right after Thanksgiving, should bring some luck and good fortune your way. This is probably clearly needed since you've been subjected to Pluto's scrutiny for longer than memory serves. Pluto, who spends approximately 20 years in each sign, is almost out of Sagittarius but not quite, so will be there for another year or so. If there is anything hidden or buried that needs to be exhumed, Pluto will do it, and in this House that could include anything from family secrets to your plumbing. Unexplainable, obnoxious things could be happening to your home or anything associated with it. Hidden things like wiring or plumbing could go haywire or you may find yourself with uninvited guests like cockroaches, ants or even worse. Not fun, but at least now you know why. The good news is that anything that is unearthed probably needed to be so it could be repaired properly. If the general atmosphere in your home isn't what it should be, it will probably be under Plutonian perusal as well. But the end result is much like lancing a boil and will allow healing to take place so that you're in better shape when all is said and done. All in all it will be a busy and probably hectic month but it looks like things on the relationship scene are good until at least the 14th and it's a good time to go on a diet. Concentrate on that with your usual focus and attention to detail and you'll be fine. |
