This month your Sign Ruler, the Sun, is in Libra, your Natural 3rd House of intellect, local environment, siblings and neighbors until October 24, when he slips into Scorpio.  This is an excellent time to concentrate on anything that requires serious mental activity of any kind as well as a good time to spend some time visiting with neighbors or socializing with immediate family.  Sometime during this month the Sun will also sextile your Natal Sun, which should put some opportunities in your way, if you're paying attention.  The New Moon on October 11 also occurs in Libra, yielding further impetus for something new.

Venus and Saturn are hanging out in Virgo, your Natural 2nd House of possessions, pleasures and financial matters.  Venus will be there from October 9 until November 9, so you have a month to take advantage of this favorable placement.  Saturn entered that territory early in September and will be there for a couple years.  While their influences are quite different, in this particular House both can be very beneficial.  Venus should indicate comfort in this area, though there is the possibility of complacency, which is probably not a good thing, particularly if this area of your life requires some attention.  If you're financially set, this could indicate a time when you can sit back and enjoy it, or even indulge in something new.  If money is not a problem, then you probably can ignore all this, but if you have challenges in this area, like most people these days, now is a favorable time to do something about it.  Saturn will instill discipline, restrictions and responsibility, which can be very helpful if you need these qualities with respect to your possession or finances.  Leos love luxury and if you have champagne taste on a beer budget, I'd give you dollars to donuts that you have problems there to address.

The good news is that there is a lot going on this month that should be helpful in doing just that.  Venus is interacting with several planets, in come cases more than one simultaneously, which should help you understand and be proactive in solving a few things.  The first week of the month, Venus is actually still in Leo and shedding her blessings on your personality and appearance.  During this time, however, she is trining Pluto over there in your Natural 5th House of creativity, children and love affairs.  Other 5th House issues include entertainment, gambling, the stock market and fun in general.  This aspect will probably unearth various issues from your past relative to one or more of these things, whether you want to remember them or not.  You may have an entirely different perspective on them now than before, which is part of the lesson.  If you handled anything in one of these areas incorrectly, now is the time to confront it, admit it, and, if necessary or possible, rectify it.  At the very least, find the lessons learned so as not to repeat any past mistakes.  As they say, Good decisions come from experience and experience comes from bad decisions.  Root out those bad decisions from your past and turn them into experience so you can avoid unpleasant reruns in the future.  Proper handling of this aspect will help set a firm foundation for the remainder of the month.

From October 1 - 24 Jupiter will be squaring Uranus.  Jokes aside, Jupiter is in your 5th House, the elements of which were mentioned above.  This planetary "Big Guy" tends to expand and increase whatever he touches, so one area he could assist with could be your creativity.  He could also make you want to do nothing but play all month, and if you can afford it, more power to you and have fun.  Considering the fact that he's been camped out in this vicinity since November 2006, there's also the possibility you haven't been taking life very seriously during that time.  However, while in hard aspect to Uranus, who's hanging out in your Natural 8th House of shared resources, intimate relationships and transformations, the Universe is probably trying to tell you that the party's over.  Uranus is all about unexpected events, surprises and upsets or, at the very least, change.  Thus, something is likely to get your attention this month that will have a strong, transformational effect on how you see your world.

Once Venus moves into Virgo on the 9th, the financial picture may start to get your attention.  Saturn may have already given you a swift kick or two the past month and Venus could soften these blows somewhat, though this might not be a good thing.  Midmonth, i.e. from the 13th - 17th, Venus and Saturn will be in a cosmic bear hug, more commonly known as a conjunction.  While these energies are combined it will be a favorable time to do some serious planning.  Assess your possessions and finances with the future in mind, then use that Virgo critical eye for detail to figure out exactly where you are or what you need to do to make it reality.  This is where that creativity boost mentioned earlier can be of help.  Think outside the box regarding how you can put yourself on solid ground.  Further assistance will be rendered about this same time when Venus sextiles Mercury Retrograde.  Mercury RX gets a lot of bad press, but in this case the introspection will be helpful, especially from scheming Scorpio.  Creative, clever or even sly ideas are likely, so take serious note.  Further assisting with these potential opportunities will be Mars, providing a hidden energy boost from your Natural 12th House of inspiration.

Before I go any further, a reminder is in order that Mercury RX will be in effect from October 12 until November 3.  This is a time to rethink and redo things and is useful for those type of activities.  This is NOT the time to buy anything that involves communications, such as cell phones, computers, or TVs, or mechanical components, such as autos or major appliances.  If you do so, you are likely to have nothing but trouble with this item for the duration of ownership.  This is particularly important to you affluent Leos who may be using that 2nd House Venus transit to go indulge yourself in a bunch of new stuff.  One word of advice--Don't.  At least not during those dates, or you'll live to regret it.  I kid you not.

That said, let's move on to Mars.  Mars is currently in Cancer, a Water Sign where his usual fire and energy are somewhat dampened.  He's making a few connections this month as well that will throw a bit of drive and assertion your way.  The first half of the month he'll be assisting Saturn's discipline and structure with some inspiration relative to your possessions or finances, which should help overcome any complacency from Venus.  He'll also give an extra boost to your introspections with Mercury RX.  This could very well be your ace in the hole for actually motivating you to move forward.  This impetus won't be as strong as it would be if he were placed elsewhere, such as a Fire or Air Sign, but it's certainly better than nothing.

At the end of the month Venus, Uranus and Jupiter will form a T-square, which may be uncomfortable, but nonetheless motivating to make some positive changes.  T-squares tend to put us in a situation where we must make a decision of some sort.  Considering the fact that both Venus and Jupiter are considered benefic planets, this should have a very positive outcome.  Uranus is usually considered a bit of a bad actor, but since he's also associated with change, there's a good chance that it will be a good one.  The Full Moon on the 25th occurs in Taurus, your Natural 10th House of career and reputation, which could indicate closure to something in this area or that it's time to move on to something new, which could add a little more punch to your financial picture.

Another conclusion to October that spills into November is a sextile between Jupiter and Neptune.  Neptune is one of those long-term visitors and he's been camped out in your Natural 7th House of relationships for quite a while now.  He can provide us with inspiration and fond dreams, but also delude us into confusing such things with reality or imposing too much idealism of our expectations.  A sextile usually indicates an opportunity of some sort, so this aspect between expansive Jupiter and dreamy Neptune could prove very interesting.  It could bode for a new romantic interest of some type, which would certainly be fun and exciting, but be sure to keep your eyes wide open so as not to be taken in by your fondest hopes.  This is a positive aspect, so should be pleasant, but Neptune isn't the most trustworthy planet in the solar system.
