Lunations and Long Term Aspects This month's New Moon is on the 9th in Leo, your 12th House of dreams, enlightenment, inspiration, spirituality, confinement, institutions, hidden enemies and self-undoing. This is what I typically refer to as the "woo-woo" house as it includes all sorts of weird stuff, including your angels and demons. Watch for something new in this part of your life, though it could be quite subtle as this house tends to be at times. The New Moon system which comprises the Sun and Moon are not aspecting any planets this time, leaving them to operate strictly with a Leo flavor which can be somewhat ego-centric. Mercury and Neptune are likely peregrine, or unaspected and doing their own thing. The other six planets, however, are hanging out in a Cardinal T-square which is likely to generate some action worth noting. In other words, all are in a Cardinal Sign, which tend to make things happen. First of all we have Jupiter and Uranus in Aries, your 8th House of sex, death, transformations, shared resources and debt. Both are retrograde which internalizes their energy, especially Jupiter who goes into "navel contemplation mode" or pondering events and situations that involve philosophical themes such as ethics or morals. Uranus is all about the unexpected, surprises, disruptions and so forth, so this is likely to bring about something out of the blue which creates a situation with deep implications, the conclusion of which will cause you to see life differently than you did before. This may not be as dramatic as it may sound, though it could be. Opposing this action is a rolling stellium comprising Saturn, Venus and Mars in Libra, your 2nd House of values, income, finances, possessions, needs and pleasures. Thanks to Saturn you may be more aware of your responsibilities in this area than you were a few months ago, which will give you a different view of whatever that surprise or disruption happens to be. Venus in this house is typically quite nice and will bring good things your way. Mars can bring drive but it can also bring a figurative attack on your wallet. Mars and Venus conjunct in the house that comprises your needs and pleasures also has obvious sexual overtones which matches up in an interesting way with the planets in your 8th House of sex. This looks like a time when such things will be on your mind, so be prepared so that you handle it properly, if you know what I mean. Further setting off this T-square is good ol' "size doesn't matter" Pluto who's in the 5th House of children and romance; ancient astrologers put sex in this house because it related to fun, romance and children whereas when Freud came along it got bumped into the 8th. As most adults know there are two types of sex (at least) so you can decide which house it belongs in, perhaps on an experience by experience basis. In other words, recreational sex would be in the 5th and intense, soul-changing sex would be the 8th. You decide. But I digress. In summary, this T-square has Mars and Venus, icons of the genders, conjunct in your house of needs and pleasures, Pluto in your house of romance, and surprises and moral issues lurking in your 8th of sex and transformations. There's not much more to say on that one other than I'll leave it up to you to do the math. And then there's the Full Moon on August 24 which occurs in Pisces, your polar sign and 7th House of relationships. My, oh, my, does this look like an interesting month or what? The same T-square described above is in effect but it's now being held together simply by Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter, all slow-moving outer planets which will be in this configuration for a while. Note that you may be the only sign out there who doesn't want this aspect pattern to end; you definitely got lucky with its placement, no pun intended. The other planets are a bit more active with this lunation rather than contributing to the primary action as they did for the New Moon. Watch for some surprises with your relationships which are going to result in a change of course at a personal level. As an Earth Sign, you're practical and responsible by nature, so don't let that slide as you encounter what could be emotional situations. If you have any old unresolved issues related to sex or other 5th House matters this is definitely a time to get them cleared up. It definitely looks to be an interesting month. Bon chance! Daily and Short Term Aspects August 2: A moral dilemma related to the past could crop up today. Consider "why this, why now?" and see what you can learn from it. August 3: Taking action to obtain something you want or need may present a few challenges. For example, you may find something you've been wanting for a long time, yet can't quite afford it. The real question is how badly you really need it or whether it's simply to feed your ego. August 4: Don't rely on your charm, especially regarding something at work, since it's likely to be an illusion. Find another course of action. August 6: Venus enters Libra, a sign she rules, giving her full reign in your 2nd House of needs, pleasures, finances and possessions. August 7: Expect the unexpected today on all fronts. August 8: Your needs and/or wants will come face-to-face with responsibility or some other restriction or boundary. August 9: New Moon today as described above. Whatever you're thinking of doing, don't neglect considering whether or not it's ethical and what the consequences might be. Look to your past for clues. August 10: Deep ruminations on the past and how to resolve it into a lesson for the present will occupy your thoughts today. August 13: Uranus backs into Pisces, your 7th House of relationships, so watch for a few surprises. Remember that this includes not only your significant other but close friends and relatives, business associates, professionals with whom you interact on a one-on-one basis such as your accountant or broker, and competitors. August 16: Moral restrictions with their pros and cons will be before you again. August 20: Inspiration and enlightenment are possible today and you may think you've found the answer to your dreams. A strong attraction to someone is possible so be prepared for anything. Mercury, your sign ruler, goes retrograde today, which may lend you to a lot of confusion. Until September 11 when he goes direct again is a favorable time for rethinking, re-doing, editing, reconsidering and so forth but not moving forward on something new. Also remember not to buy anything electronic or mechanical during this time. August 21: Boundaries, restrictions, responsibilities and obligations may be in your face today, particularly as they relate to something in your past. August 22: The Sun enters Virgo, bringing focus and emphasis to your personal development. Unexpected insights may nudge you in a different direction than you've been heading. August 24: Full Moon today as described above. More adjustments, perhaps due to ethics issues, are likely. August 25: This is a favorable day for you to get a grip on the past or anything that's been bothering you or holding you back. Learn everything you can from it and then go forward accordingly. |
