Lunations and Long-term Aspects The New Moon on the 11th is also a Solar Eclipse which occurs in Cancer, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, siblings, and short journeys. A New Moon typically brings something new into your life and being an eclipse this is even more likely, especially if your birthday is within a few days of May 10th. This one is the solar counterpart for the lunar version last month, both members of the 12 South family of the Saros Series. The theme of this family is that something that you've been struggling with for quite a while will at first get worse and then clear. While Lunar Eclipses usually work at a more subtle level that affects you internally, Solar Eclipses are more likely to bring experiences and events. Eclipses are unique in the astrological sense in that their effects can sometimes be seen three months before they actually happen or linger as long as 11.5 months after; time is not necessarily linear in space. Take note that the week leading up to an eclipse tends to be an unstable time when anything you initiate is unlikely to come out as planned. After the eclipse things will return more to normal, yet its influence can linger as its message plays out. That said, let's see what else is going on from the aspects accompanying it. The most obvious aspect pattern is a T-Square which comprises Saturn, Pluto and the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction. Saturn is in Virgo, your 5th House of ego development, self-expression, creativity, children, romance, entertainment and speculations, suggesting the need for restructuring something in that part of your life. If you're working too hard, maybe it's time to take a break. There's also the matter of Saturn retracing its path through the territory where he was retrograde for several months the first part of the year. While RX he stirs things up in your subconscious which need attention and when he goes direct it's time to "gitter done." So at this point you should be aware that something needs to be done regarding this part of your life. Pluto is in fellow Earth Sign, Capricorn, your 9th House of beliefs, expectations, higher learning, legal matters, foreign travel and cultures, relocation, religion and politics to name a few. This is where you philosophy of life resides and Pluto's presence implies that this is undergoing a major overhaul. The Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in Aries conjures up images of Zeus wielding his thunderbolts. Being in your 12th House there's no telling how this could play out. This is where your spirituality resides along with such things as enlightenment, inspiration, dreams, confinement, hidden enemies, seclusion, and self-undoing. Your angels and demons call this home and it can include your fondest fantasies and worst nightmares. Jupiter and Uranus in this domain can often bring a windfall, but in this house there's no telling other than it will probably take you by surprise. In a nutshell it appears that you may need to reassess the level of responsibility you have and restructure it in some way. If you have too much to find time to relax and enjoy yourself, you need to let some of it go; conversely if you've been goofing off and shirking your obligations and falling into the Peter Pan syndrome of not wanting to grow up, then it's time to rectify that as well. Clearly renovating your philosophy of life, expanding your education or investigating various religions or political views are called for as well. And perhaps that Uranus/Jupiter couple will set off a figurative explosion that will get your attention and drive you in the right direction or perhaps it will be the major "Aha!" that comes after you do the necessary remodeling of your life. The T-Square is clearly the most serious aspect to deal with, but there are other aspects as well which have a more optimistic flavor. The Sun/Moon is sextile Mars, also in Virgo, indicating an opportunity to take action with respect to whatever the eclipse brings your way in your 3rd House. Venus, your Sign Ruler, is also in Virgo, bringing her blessings to this part of your life. With three very diverse planets in that neighborhood you should experience quite a variety of options and impressions. Venus is trining Pluto which implies a positive influence that relates to your 5th House of "Fun" and your 9th comprising your philosophy of life. She is also quincunx the Jupiter/Uranus pair, indicating a change of direction or adjustment that relates to something in your 5th, whether it's entertainment, children or romance, and the sudden flash of inspiration in your 12th. Venus is also opposing Neptune in your 10th, which has some interesting implications as well. If you've been unfocused or in a fog with regard to your career Neptune's presence in Aquarius could be the culprit. Under Neptune's influence is pretty similar to being under the influence of various other things, some of which are illegal. Venus could be trying to tell you there are more productive ways to enjoy yourself or, conversely, if you're the workaholic type, that you need to escape from time to time. Saturn is quincunx Neptune, implying adjustments or a course change that goes along the same lines. Mercury is in Leo, your 4th House of home environment, which will facilitate communications there. He's quincunx Pluto, which will also help with redefining your view of the world and trining the Jupiter/Uranus pair as well which will help you take whatever flash occurs in that woo-woo house and apply it to your daily life, particularly at home. Thus, as the eclipse in your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors and siblings implies, much of what this eclipse does for you in going to be on the mental and spiritual plane, at least as far as any growth is concerned. The Full Moon on July 25 is in Aquarius, your 10th House of career, status, and reputation. This fits in very well with the eclipse if you decide that you need to change careers, either in the sense of actually having one or in shifting to one that allows you more down time. The T-Square is there, knowing that the needed changes aren't going to happen overnight, especially for a Fixed Sign such as Taurus. One thing is slightly different with it, however, in that Saturn has gone into Libra, your 6th House of work, which also will help you assume more responsibility on the job or perhaps let some go, depending on which side of the scale you are. Neptune and Mercury are in opposition which subtly suggests that someone at home is telling you one thing while Neptune's influence continues to drawn you in the other direction. Neptune is being addressed by both Saturn and Mars, however, in case he's been the culprit in any way with his propensity for illusions, delusions and deception. Pluto and the Sun are quincunx, further indicating a change of course with regard to your beliefs about your home life. There are also two Triangles of Potential with the Full Moon. These occur when a third planet gets between two others in opposition and is situated such that it's trine one and sextile the other. This puts the mediating planet is favorable aspect to the opposing planets and able to handle the situation in what should be a favorable way. Both of these have their sextile base in the same locale so the two of them overlap, indicating overlap in their application as well. This base comprises the Full Moon herself and the Uranus/Jupiter conjunction. This likewise implies a big "Aha!" moment at the spiritual level as you take an emotional look at your status. From there, this sextile addresses Saturn on one hand and the Sun on the other. The involvement of Saturn indicates a willingness to take on more responsibility on the job and work to improve your status, even if a part of you really wants to be free and unencumbered. The sextile also addressed the Sun, which is obviously opposite the Moon since we're talking about a Full Moon. This implies that this time Jupiter and Uranus are in charge of tipping the balance so your head and heart can get on the same page. Daily and Short-term Aspects July 1: Creative thoughts are highly likely and you'll want to act on them, whether it's through self-expression, speculation, time with your kids, hobbies or love interest, or simply enjoying yourself. July 5: Uranus goes retrograde until December 5. This will make his energy even more erratic than it is already. July 8: The realization that you need to change a few things in order to express yourself in a more tangible way will help you focus more clearly on a career or status goal than you have in the past. Daydreams are great as long as you don't live there all the time, so if that's the case it's time to move in on one and define it more clearly. July 9: Mercury enters Leo, bringing his thinking and communication skills to your home environment where you can discuss your latest impressions of where you want to go with your life. July 10: Venus goes into Virgo, bringing her blessings to your 5th House of creativity, children, lovers, entertainment, speculation and so forth. Expect a possible explosion of innovative ideas and insights and the clarity of thought to start putting your thoughts and ideas into action. July 11: New Moon/Solar Eclipse as described above. July 13: Another excellent day for brainstorming on both the future and the past. Ponder your current philosophy of life and ways it may be flawed in some way that's been holding you back from your full potential or causing your priorities to be off-target. July 20: Start thinking of how you can take the steps required to move in a new direction with your career, status or reputation. July 21: Saturn enters Libra, bringing his self-discipline to your 6th House of work, health and pets. Put it to good use. July 22: The Sun enters Leo, bringing light and emphasis to your home environment, past, present and future. Think of ways that you can make home and work more compatible. July 23: Jupiter goes retrograde until mid-November. This typically brings your attention to ethics issues of some sort. An "Aha!" moment is likely today as well as you see something you'd missed before. July 24: Another good day to be thinking about who and what you are and where you're heading with your life. Ponder the roots of your current view of the world, its origins, and their validity or lack thereof. July 25: Full Moon in Aquarius as described above. July 26: This has the potential to be a very significant day due to the fact that at least five major aspects will be exact sometime during the day. Start out by confronting any delusions or misperceptions you've been carrying around. If you doubt your ability, explore where that impression has come from and what you've done to rectify it. Bulls can tend to be lazy and take the course of least resistance. You love your luxuries and comforts, however, so unless you're living on a major inheritance or have some other means of support you're going to have to work for them. As you meditate on these things you're likely to have at least one and perhaps several revelations that will point you toward a new course of action. Make sure that it's valid and not an illusion or wishful thinking. July 27: Mercury goes into Virgo which will assist your creative thoughts as well as facilitate communications with your children and romantic interests. It will be a positive influence for speculative ventures also. Creative and innovative ideas on an inspired nature are very likely. July 30: Mars enters Libra, bringing his drive and ambition to your house of work, service, health and pets. Put some creative thought into what your core beliefs really are and be willing to make some major adjustments as you ponder any incorrect impressions you may have picked up along the way. However, expect some opposition to moving forward toward more responsibility when you still really want to break away. July 31: This may be a day when you have to fully confront the need to make some changes. If you're ready to put your plan into action this is an excellent day to do so because the potential for being structured, focused and energetic about attaining your goals is high. However, if you're burying your head in the sand and resisting what you need to do, you may find yourself under attack in some way. It's your choice how you'll use this energy. |
