Lunations and Long-term Aspects The New Moon this month on the 12th occurs in fellow Air Sign, Gemini, your 5th House of ego development, creativity, entertainment, children, romance and speculation, which will bring something new into this part of your life. Since the Sun is transiting this Sign until the 21st, it will bring emphasis generally to this part of your life. The New Moon will be particularly noticeable if your birthday is within a few days of February 10. There's quite a bit going on with this lunation chart which promises to make this a rather exciting and interesting month. Whatever it may turn out to be, it won't be boring. First of all, there's a Yod or Finger of God that comprises Venus and Saturn in partile (or same degree) sextile at the base. Venus is in Cancer, your 6th House of work, service, health and pets and Saturn is in Virgo, your 8th House of sex, death and regeneration, debt, shared resources, and transformations. Since a sextile implies a chance or opportunity which in this case will involve a transformational experience that involves your job, income from it, or health in some way. Neptune is at the eye in your Sign of Aquarius, which will be right on your Natal Sun if your birthday is within a day or so of February 17. Neptune's ideal manifestation is transcendence, though he can also cause delusions, illusions, deception and confusion. Thus, tying these planets and houses together it looks like a transformational experience or something to do with debt or sex that relates to your work or health could take you in a direction that may not be in your best interest if it doesn't represent reality. On the other hand, this could be taking you to one of your dreams, but just make sure you're seeing things as they really are and not how you'd like them to be. Mars is opposing Neptune and may be trying to push you in the opposite direction. Also take note that Mars in the 8th House can something to be aware of so you can be more careful than usual. This placement can result in accidents, injuries and various other unpleasant events so absolutely do not take up skydiving or some other extreme sport during this transit and if you're already involved in such activities, I'd avoid them until he leaves, which will be July 30. Don't take safety for granted during this time. Really. Another stand-out on this lunation chart is a partile conjunction in Aries of Jupiter and Uranus. This is quite a volatile combination and they're in your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, siblings, and short journeys, which usually comprise your daily trips to work, running errands, and so forth. Jupiter is about expansion and exaggeration and Uranus represents unexpected events, sudden change, disruptions, breaking away, rebellion and unconventional views. Both planets recently entered Aries which is an entirely different environment than their previous residence in peaceful and passive Pisces. In other words, instead of singing Kumbaya these two will now be singing either The Battle Hymn of the Republic or Another One Bites the Dust. This ingress can easily be compared to going from a Zen garden to a battlefield. The Jupiter/Uranus combination tends to remind me of a lightning strike wielded by Zeus. In your 3rd House this could be anything from the brainstorm of the century that ultimately makes you rich to an explosive encounter with a neighbor or sibling. It also implies that you should be careful going to work and running your errands so as not to take any unnecessary chances. The conjunction is further exacerbated by the fact that every planet except Mercury is aspecting it in one way or another. First of all, Pluto in Capricorn, your 12th House of enlightenment, dreams, spirituality, institutions, seclusion, hidden enemies and self-undoing, is squaring that dynamic duo. Squares create a crisis, challenge or obstacle and Pluto's involvement suggests a power trip, dirt from the past, or someone trying to control you which is likely to set off that explosion in the 3rd House. Saturn is throwing an opposition at them from Virgo, your 8th House of transformation, sex, debt, and so forth. Saturn imposes boundaries, structure, responsibility, and can also represent an authority figure trying to contain the situation, whatever it might be. He also can represent hard lessons if you refuse to listen. Next in line is Mars, also in your 8th House, who's quincunx that explosion waiting to happen. Remember that not all explosion are bad, but they need to be contained or they can be. A quincunx indicates a change of course, adjustment, or sometimes a Catch-22, damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. This event in your 3rd house, mental or otherwise, is going to facilitate a few course course changes that will have a transformational effect or perhaps influence some other part of your life that resides in the 8th house such as debt. Sex is usually placed there as well, though it used to be in the 5th with romance and entertainment. Apparently it migrated to the 8th with the Freudian era. Last but far from least of those interacting with Zeus and his lightning bolt is Venus who's in Cancer, your 6th House of work, health, service and pets. Her presence will be enhancing this area for the first half of the month until she moves into Leo, at which time she'll be working with your close relationships. This implies that if it's a mental brainstorm you're dealing with that it will have a beneficial and possibly even monetary effect on your job or health. If it's something related to your siblings or neighbors or perhaps commuting, then it may relate to obtaining some assistance or support from the workplace. At any rate, she's the only overtly positive aspect interacting with the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction so make sure to look for it as it may be the main friend you have in this situation, whatever it might be. One last thing bears addressing for the New Moon and that's a closed loop of energy between Mercury, Mars and Pluto. Mercury is the strongest member of this triad, partly because he's in Gemini, a sign he rules, and Mars is also in a sign he rules, which creates a situation where Mars will defer to Mercury. This is your 5th House of creativity as well where mental energy is definitely a good thing. Mars may be stirring things up in your 8th House of transformations but Mercury is doing what he can to control the situation. He and Pluto are effecting a change of course based on something related to your deepest spiritual perceptions which will ultimately mitigate any impulsiveness that could cause more problems. And that only brings us to intermission, folks, because wait until you see what's going on with the Full Moon on June 26. This lunation also comprises a Lunar Eclipse, giving it additional punch. This will occur in Capricorn, which is likely to flush out even more information pertaining to what's going on in that 12th House. For example, if it's a hidden enemy or you're sabotaging yourself, it's likely to become apparent. Dreams, enlightenment, inspiration and institutions also reside in this domain so it includes a wide variety of things to choose from. And yes, choose is the correct word because you have more power than you may realize with regard to using the astrological energy that's out there. Use it or it will use you. Pluto in your 12th House is a favorable time to delve deeply into your own spirituality, take up yoga, and seek enlightenment. If you have any self-defeating habits there's no better time to get them under control. Meanwhile, back at the eclipse, the most obvious aspect associated with this lunation/eclipse is what can best be described as the "T-Square from Hell." This triple-whammy of hard aspects has two astrological entities at each corner, including the Sun - Moon opposition at the base. Compound that with Mercury conjunct the Sun, Pluto conjunct the Moon and all of them squaring the Jupiter - Uranus conjunction we've already talked about in vast detail above. This implies that whatever that event is, or perhaps a series of them, related or not, is not going away anytime soon. The conflict here will be between something to do with your work or health, that hazy landscape of the 12th as defined above, and then whatever Jupiter and Uranus are up to in your house of thoughts, ideas, neighbors and siblings. Furthermore, Saturn is opposing Jupiter and Uranus, undoubtedly trying to impose some order or structure on the situation. Another closed energy loop is here as well, this time involving Mercury, Saturn and Neptune. Mercury doesn't have the same amount of influence he did on the last one, but it implies that ideas may come from work that inspire you with how to contain the situation. The companion Solar Eclipse to this one comes in July. One thing to note about this eclipse is that it's a member of the 12 South family of the Saros Series for which the general theme is that anything you've been dealing with lately that has been a challenge is going to get worse before it gets better, but it WILL get better and ultimately clear. Remember that while you're slogging through the various events of this month. Short-term Aspects June 4: If someone you're close to starts something, make sure you're seeing things clearly and not operating under the premise of cutting off your nose to spite your face. As a Fixed Sign you don't like to change your mind, but be aware that it only makes it worse if you're wrong when you have to eat it later. June 6: Jupiter goes into Aries today, bringing his expansive energy to a very energetic and sometimes impetuous sign. June 7: Mars goes into Virgo, bringing his energy and drive to your 8th House of transformations and various other goodies. Remember what I said earlier about this increasing your risk in various areas so from now until the end of July don't take any unnecessary chances. Mark your calendar as such. Now! That explosive event, brainstorm or whatever is at the doors, so brace yourself. June 8: If that big event or brainstorm hasn't happened yet, today is a good bet. Ideas or conversations in your home environment can provide data on how to contain it. June 9: Thoughts or ideas you or someone in your household come up with today may be looking at things through rose-colored glasses. No matter how good it may sound, give it a reality check. Maybe even two or three. June 10: Mercury goes into Gemini today, a sign he rules which allows him to operate at full-throttle. This is also going to give you plenty of ideas and information regarding that situation you're dealing with, so put him to work. Gather data, talk to people, and do everything you can to understand the situation so you can identify the best way to handle it. June 11: Arguments, especially at home, are likely today. Do your best to depersonalize the facts and not get too riled up. This is also a day to be particularly careful with any household chores, yardwork, or other activities such as driving or sports. The chances of getting hurt or having an accident are higher than usual so be careful! June 12: New Moon today as described above. June 14: Venus goes into Leo, your 7th House of close relationships, which should have a beneficial effect on that part of your life. Look to those close to you for some good information and ideas regarding that "situation." June 15: This is another day to watch your back. Don't do anything foolish and don't be surprised if someone you thought you could trust turns on you. Inspiration or enlightenment at a deep level is also possible. If you know anyone in the hospital, this is a favorable time to pay them a visit. June 17: A change of direction with a relationship is likely. Be as open minded as you can, which may not be too easy with the Sun in your house of ego. June 19: Expect a conflict between what you want to do versus what you should do. Failure to recognize the situation for what it is may result in a hard lesson. You'll be particularly inclined toward self-delusion today. Wade through the fog and think consequences. June 21: Summer solstice today as the Sun goes into Cancer, bringing emphasis to work and your health. Expect the unexpected today, especially at work. June 23: Expect a lot of mental activity at work today. No matter how good your ideas may be, however, they may not be received very well. June 24: Your thoughts today may turn to past issues with your children or romantic interests that didn't end well. New insights may generate regrets or guilt which could have a transformational effect on how you see future events of a similar nature. June 25: Mercury goes into Cancer, facilitating communications including thoughts, ideas and conversations at work. Expect the unexpected again, this time in the way of conversations or information. You're likely to effortlessly uncover previously hidden information so if you have research to do it's a very favorable time. June 26: Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse today as described above. June 27: More information is likely to come forward that may not be very enchanting. The topic is likely to be work, health or someone who's not your friend whom you thought was. Be prepared to make a few adjustments to how you view the world. |
