Lunations and Long-term Aspects

The New Moon this month is on the 12th in your Sign of Gemini.  If that's your birthday or it's a day one way or the other this is going to reverberate throughout the year as part of your Solar Return.  Gemini's don't like to be bored and believe me, if this lunation echoes over the next twelve months  it will be anything but boring.  For one thing this lunation contains a Yod or Finger of God which typically points toward a new direction.  The planets involved include Venus and Saturn at the base in Cancer and Virgo, respectively.  Cancer is your 2nd House of finances, possessions, income, needs and pleasures and since Venus rules the 2nd House of the zodiac her placement here for you should be quite beneficial.  Saturn is in your 4th House of home environment and Saturn's presence implies that you're building or restructuring something there.  These two form a sextile, an aspect that denotes an opportunity with the implications good for finding an opportunity to either generate your income from home or perhaps simply doing some remodeling or redecorating.  Nice!  The eye of the Yod is Neptune in Aquarius, your 9th House of higher learning, beliefs, expectations, legal matters, politics, religion, other cultures, foreign travel and relocation.  This is the focus of that home/income opportunity, so you should be able to do the math from there.

However, this is in some ways the least of what's going on with this New Moon.

Making a lot more noise than the Yod is a partile, or in the same degree, conjunction between Jupiter and Uranus, which have both recently moved into Aries.  These two are going to display an entirely different type of energy than they did in peaceful, dreamy Pisces.  Instead of singing Kumbaya, these two are now going to be chanting "We will, we will rock you!"  And they mean it.  Think of it like Bruce Willis and Russell Crowe going from a Zen garden to a battlefield.   The archetypes of Jupiter and Uranus alone conjure up images of Zeus wielding thunderbolts.  Aries is your 11th House of friends, organizations, group interactions, goals, hopes and wishes so you can expect to see some major action there.  And just think, for this they're only at zero degrees Aries!  They won't be conjunct forever, but as far as this month's concerned they are and like I said earlier, some of this is going to follow you all year in your solar return!  If you're wondering how that's going to play out, consider ordering one of our Solar Return charts for a preview.  :-)

As if this dynamic duo isn't volatile enough, every other planet besides Mercury is in the game as well.  Thus, whatever this events or series of events or actions happens to be, it's going to affect multiple areas of your life.  For starters, Pluto in Capricorn is squaring them.  Capricorn is your 8th House of transformations which is further strengthened by Pluto's presence there, the king of transformations and god of the Underworld.  This has some implications that whatever that explosive event that affects others as well as your goals happens to be, maybe you're the one precipitating it due to some major transformation.  It could just as easily be the opposite, that something occurs within an organization or with one of your goals that effects a transformation since the energy goes both ways; only you will know.  Following Pluto is Saturn, who's also party to the Yod and opposing the Jupiter - Uranus pair.  This could represent a situation or person related to your home who is opposing that situation, trying to contain the explosion, and possibly trying to hold you back from rushing into the fire, so to speak.

Next in line is Mars who's quincunx the pair, also from Virgo a.k.a. your home environment.  Mars wants you to take action, make some adjustments or a course change as a result of that big event, and go forward accordingly.  His drive for action combined with Saturn's reticence can work to your advantage if you take your time, put together a viable plan, and don't move forward impulsively but in a cautious and practical way.  However, this approach doesn't work when you're dealing with spontaneous combustion, so you'll have to figure out which is best.  Last but not least in Venus in Cancer who's in a nice, harmonious trine with Jupiter and Uranus.  She, as you may recall, is in your 2nd House of finances, possessions, income, needs and pleasures and nicely placed there in accidental dignity as ruler of the 2nd House zodiacally.

One final aspect pattern that doesn't have a clever name but represents a closed loop of energies with three planets connected via a square, trine and quincunx.  Mercury is by far the most influential planet in this trio that also includes Mars and Pluto.  Since Mercury is in one of the signs he rules, i.e. Gemini, he has dignity there and Mars is in Virgo, his other domain, so essentially he can largely tell Mars what to do.   For example, Mars may want to move forward or stir up some contention at home, but Mercury will step in and throw some obstacles in the way.  He'll work with Pluto to find a change of course which will probably involve more transformational activity on your part or perhaps, depending on the circumstances, come up with some investors.  Pluto, in turn, will make Mars happy that something is moving forward, even if it's not what Mars originally wanted.  So that do-loop is going to be playing in the background of everything else.

The Full Moon on June 26 is in Capricorn and is also a Lunar Eclipse.  As noted earlier, Capricorn is you 8th House of transformations, sex, death, debt and shared resources.  If your birthday is within a day or so of May 26 this will have even more punch as far as effecting a change of course in some part of your life.  In looking at the lunation/eclipse chart the aspect that stands out the most can best be described as a "T-Square from Hell."  The Sun - Moon eclipse is at the base and reinforced by Mercury conjunct the Sun and Pluto conjunct the Moon.  The apex comprises that Jupiter - Uranus couple we already had to deal with for the New Moon, so it doesn't look like you'll be rid of that Jupiter - Uranus event, whatever it is, anytime soon.

A T-square is comprised of hard aspects that are going to present numerous challenges and obstacles if not an outright crisis of sorts.  Your finances or possessions or perhaps your needs will be involved along with your core being, that part of you that can change given the right lessons and circumstances where you become a different person, never to go back where you were before.  With the Moon and Pluto conjunct in your house of transformation you can bet there will be emotional involvement which is highly likely to involve your past and any old, lurking issues that were never properly resolved way-back-when.  That Jupiter - Uranus "bomb" relative to your goals or organizational activities will be at the apex and thus stirring things up on both sides.  Saturn is trying to contain the explosion and put the pieces in order if not back together in your home environment, but all this does is add more tension.

There's another closed loop with this one offering some background music like last time, however.  Different planets this time, i.e. Mercury, Saturn and Neptune.  Mercury is now in Cancer so doesn't have the power he did before.  The information and ideas he has to provide relative to your financial situation apparently aren't setting to well with your home environment or someone in it.  Neptune is mediating this time by offering some inspiration from fellow Air Sign, Aquarius, your 9th House once more that comprises all those things that were at the eye of the Yod for the New Moon such as your beliefs, expectations, religion, higher learning, relocation, foreign travel and so forth.  Whatever insights or enlightenment Neptune can provide will help make the needed adjustments for things to not fall entirely apart on the homefront during this transition period.

Daily and Short-term Aspects

June 4:  Moving forward with some new ideas or actions that involve your neighbors or siblings are likely to conflict with your beliefs, expectations, religious or political views, you education or something else residing in your 9th House.  If you've been too idealistic in one of those areas you're likely to encounter an "Aha!" moment that will indicate otherwise.

June 6:  Jupiter goes into Aries today which will kick up the energy there by a notch or two.

June 7:  Mars goes into Virgo, stirring up the action on the homefront.  This could cause arguments or simply energize you to get a few things done around the house.  It's up to you how you use this energy in a positive way.  It will also light the fuse of that bomb ticking in your house of organizations or goals.

June 8:  If that "bomb" hasn't gone off by now, it should today.  Seek inspiration with regard to how you'll need to restructure things at home to accommodate it.

June 9:  Information you receive at a spiritual level may not agree with your religious beliefs or some other ideology you've been buying into.

June 10:  Mercury goes into your sign, Gemini, bringing his mental energy to you right at a time when you can certainly use it.  This will provide plenty of ideas regarding the opportunities that await due to that figurative bomb.

June 11:  Others in your household may not be too thrilled with your ideas.  Be prepared to present your case in a logical, organized and practical way, even if the idea itself isn't.

June 12:  New Moon in your sign as described above.

June 14:  Venus goes into Leo, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, siblings and short journeys, which typically include your daily commute and running errands around home.  This should have a favorable affect on these parts of your life and help them to go smoothly.  It may also help you with any thoughts and ideas you're putting together that pertain to money, especially in the context of that situation you're dealing with.

June 15:  An argument or some other event at home will have a lasting effect on you, perhaps by digging up something from the past of a similar nature that was never properly resolved.  Old baggage is heavy.  Deal with it and move on.

June 17:  If that baggage has to do with one of your siblings, this is an excellent time to address it and get it out of the way.  You will be perceived in a favorable way and your attitude will be conducive to a peaceful resolution.

June 19:  If you wind up in the spotlight somehow today, it's likely to cause a few issues at home.  This may simply disrupt some existing plans or schedule, but it will cause you to look at it more carefully for viability.  Gemini's typically tend to take on too many projects and scramble from project to project like a hummingbird on a hibiscus bush.  Look at your schedule realistically and determine what makes sense.

June 21 - 23:  Summer solstice today as the Sun goes into Cancer.  This also brings the Sun into your 2nd House of finances and possessions which may have the effect of a astrological auditor.  If there are financial implications in that Jupiter - Uranus situation, they may try to bite you at this time.

June 24:  Your thoughts and ideas versus those of others in your household are not likely to be in agreement.  Try to make it as impersonal and logical as possible, unless you're dealing with a Water Sign.  In that case, trying to understand their feelings and emotions will yield better results.  Good luck.

June 25:  Mercury goes into Cancer, bringing communication skills, data, and ideas to your house of money and income.  Conflicts between your big project and your finances are likely to arise, perhaps unexpectedly.  Look to past experience for ways to solve them or perhaps an investor.

June 26:  Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn as described above.

June 27:  News or information should be forthcoming relative to that financial situation.  If something from your past is coming back to bite you, such as bad credit, you may find some workarounds by examining whether your views are too idealistic.  An authority figure or older friend or relative may be able to provide some inspiration and insights.
