Lunations and Long-term Aspects

The New Moon this month on the 12th is in Gemini, your 8th House of sex, death and regeneration, debt, transformations and shared resources, which will bring something new your way in this part of your life.  This is the house that Scorpio rules zodiacally so will be of prime interest to you.  If you birthday is within a day or so of November 14 this lunation will quincunx your Natal Sun, implying a change of course that relates to this area.  While all Scorpios will feel this to some degree, those of you born on or around that date are likely to experience it on a stronger level.  This is likely to be a fairly intense lunation with the Full Moon later in the month an eclipse, adding to it's power.  Of course Scorpios invented the word "intense" so this should feel more comfortable for you than some of the other signs.

The first aspect pattern to note is a Yod or Finger of God with Venus and Saturn forming the base and Neptune at the eye.  Venus is in fellow Water Sign, Cancer and Saturn is in Virgo.  Cancer is your 9th House of beliefs, expectations, higher learning, other cultures, foreign travel, relocation, politics, religion and legal matters.  In other words this House comprises your experiences with those who are different than yourself and thus expand your horizons and belief systems.  Venus' presence there will have a positive effect as the ruler of both money and relationships zodiacally and for Scorpios she also rules your 12th and 7th Houses, which will bring them into play as well.  Virgo is your 11th House of friends, organizations, networking, group interactions generally as well as your hopes, wishes and goals.  The partile, or in the same degree, sextile between Venus and Saturn indicates an opportunity to watch for that brings those two houses together in some manner.  For example, if you were to go on a group tour to a foreign country or engage in an activity with fellow students, those of the same religious or political beliefs, or if you had a goal to achieve that involves the legal system (attorneys, however, are in the 7th House, but since for Scorpios they're also ruled by Venus this will also have some bearing on them.)

Neptune at the eye of the Yod is in Aquarius, your 4th House of home environment which includes your physical abode as well as everyone who shares it with you.  Neptune just went retrograde at the end of May which will tend to fog its energy even further.  Neptune can be delusional, trigger illusions, or render the impression of looking through water; a mirage is another Neptunian effect.  The King of the Deep can also inspire and enlighten, giving you glimpses of another dimension, but you always have to be on guard to not mistake it for reality.  Scorpios typically have a fairly strong sense of discernment so this shouldn't be a problem for you if you maintain an awareness of this potential problem.  On the other hand, visualizing something is the first step to making it happen, so as long as you keep things in their proper place you should be okay.

To determine what the Yod is pointing you toward you need to combine all those energies and see how they relate to your life.  Obviously each house has a variety of areas so you need to do the mix and match routine to determine their meaning for you.  A generic interpretation would be that some philosophical involvement with a group will direct you toward one of your dreams or visions with regard to your home environment.  So bear that Yod in mind as we look at what else is going on, which is a bunch.

Another stand-out of this lunation chart is the fact that Jupiter and Uranus are in partile conjunction at zero degrees Aries.  My first impression of that combination of planets and signs is Zeus wielding a lightning strike.  Aries is your 6th House of work, service, health, pets and anyone working for you, such as contractors remodeling your home and so forth.  It can also relate to anything you're working on.  In ancient times this was also the house of slavery which you may be able to relate all to well to your job.  Both Jupiter and Uranus recently entered  Aries which is going to change the character of their energy significantly compared to when they were in peaceful, dreamy Pisces singing Kumbaya.  Their anthem now is more likely to be The Battle Hymn of the Republic or Another Bites the Dust.  In other words, the effect will be like going from a Zen garden to a battlefield.  And by the way, if your birthday falls within a day or so of October 24 this dynamic duo is quincunx your Natal Sun, implying a sudden or unexpected change of direction in this part of your life.

Furthermore, every planet except Mercury is aspecting this pair in one way or another, some good, some neutral and some potentially not so good.  For starters, your Sign Ruler, Pluto, is squaring them from Capricorn, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, siblings and short journeys which usually comprise your daily running around doing errands and such.  Pluto in a Scorpio's 3rd House will put your thought process on steroids and make you formidable in mental or intellectual duals.  Scorpios born around October 28 will really be feeling this one, which will bring them numerous personal opportunities.  This particular aspect could unearth a sudden idea related to that potentially explosive issue going on in your 6th House that could create a crisis of some sort.

Saturn is opposing them from your house of groups and goals, which will put the brakes on it somewhat.  Whatever it might be probably requires some structure to make it work properly so Saturn will be trying to contain that explosion or lightning strike and tie it down while it wants to expand in all directions.  This element of containment may be very significant in its success, so bear that in mind.  Your ancient sign ruler, Mars, is quincunx the pair, where he's pushing for a change of course or adjustment, also from Virgo, i.e. your house of groups and goals.  Put this in your bag of tricks in dealing with this situation as well.  Don't get stuck in your propensity as a Fixed Sign to not want to change.  Venus is trining them, the one and only harmonious aspect, at least to Jupiter and Uranus.  As you recall, she's in your 9th House of beliefs, ideologies, legal stuff, higher learning and so forth.  This implies that examining anything that relates to the issue at hand that can be traced back to this house can be the key to managing it successfully.

One more aspect pattern that doesn't have a name that I'm aware of and constitutes a closed energy loop is worth mentioning, particularly since both of your rulers, i.e. Pluto and Mars are two of them with the third planet Mercury.  Of course when you have a closed loop it's like trying to find the beginning of a circle.  If we use the zodiac to determine order, then Mercury, who rules communications and is dignified in Gemini, is first and he's in your 8th House which as noted earlier is Scorpio's zodiacal home base.   Thus, thoughts or information he facilitates will involve other people's money or resources as well as transformations among other things, such as sex and death.  Mercury is quincunx Pluto in your 3rd House of thoughts and ideas, which will give you tremendous mental prowess that will be up there in the formidable range.   Mars wants to move forward, but Mercury will prevail since he's well-positioned in Gemini and Mars is in a sign Mercury rules, making him the boss.  Mercury is also in cahoots with Pluto and those two are demanding a change of course or a few adjustments, but ultimately your sign rulers will be able to get on the same page and move forward in a slightly different but beneficial direction.

The Full Moon on June 26 is also a Lunar Eclipse, giving it additional power.  This one is a member of the 12 South family in the Saros Series and it's general theme is that something you've been struggling with is going to get worse before it gets better, but it WILL get better.  The most prominent feature of this lunation/eclipse chart is a T-square from Hell, being as it has two astrological entities at each of its three corners, i.e. the Sun and Mercury conjunct in Cancer, the Moon and Pluto conjunct in Capricorn and the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction we looked at in laborious detail in Aries.  If you're fairly familiar with astrology you'll recognize that all of these are Cardinal Signs, giving it additional energy which will be distributed through your third, sixth and 9th House.

These, of course, are the same ones for the most part involved in the New Moon, so this is likely to be the continuation of whatever occurred there.  However, the hard aspects involved in a T-square can only be interpreted as various forces working against each other which is further complication by Saturn opposing Jupiter and Uranus, though as noted earlier this may not be a bad thing as he's trying to impose boundaries and structure on Jupiter and Uranus going wild in Aries.  Since Saturn is in your 11th House he can represent your friends or possibly your goals which may be too detailed and rigid with him in Virgo.  Bear that in mind, particularly as those quincunxes come along and try to nudge you in a different direction.

There's another square/quincunx/trine closed loop here as well which involves Mercury, Saturn and Neptune.  By the looks of things, Neptune is providing some inspiration to Mercury as far as your beliefs are concerned, but these won't set too well with your established goals or perhaps a group you're working with.  Nonetheless, a change of course based on these insights or enlightenment will effect a change of course.

Clearly there's a lot going on this month, largely set off by that Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in Aries and further magnified by an eclipse; the other half of the eclipse comes in July since they generally come in pairs.  But as you can see, this month should be anything but boring.

Daily and Short-Term Aspects

June 4:  If you're trying to move toward something that relates to your career, reputation or status, you're likely to encounter an issue that opposes it at home.  Make sure you're not being too idealistic but use that energy for enlightenment and inspiration to find further instructions.

June 6:  Jupiter goes into Aries where he will use his expansive powers in your 6th House of work, service, health and pets.

June 7:  Mars goes into Virgo, bringing his drive and energy to your 11th house of groups, friends, and goals.  An important event is looming that is going to require an adjustment, change of direction or justification for your current position.

June 8:  An unexpected or disruptive event will peak today and drive the activities for the month.  This is likely to relate to your work, health or a project you've pursuing.  Look to someone close to you to help build a plan to achieve your goal.

June 9:  A crisis or challenge related to a relationship and your homelife is looming today.  Make sure you get all the facts, turn up the gain on your radar, and beware of deception or being too idealistic.  Put that Scorpio discernment in high gear.

June 10:  Mercury goes into Gemini, where he operates very efficiently as its ruler.  Spend some time considering what to do about that disruption that came your way and how to solve it.  Remember that you cannot solve a problem without rising to a higher mental level than you were when it occurred.

June 11:  News or information from someone close to you or perhaps a professional you interact with is going to throw an obstacle in your way.  Continue to utilize Mercury to find an answer, realizing that a course change may be required.

June 12:  New Moon as described above.

June 14:  Venus goes into fellow Fire Sign, Leo, today, bringing her blessings to your 10th House of career, reputation and status.  Remember that "status" includes just about anything that involves a title, label, public record, or reputation.  She will also be lending assistance toward solving that major disruption, whatever it might be.  She will enhance your image and ability to rally support as required.

June 15:  Your thought processes will be on astrological steroids today so don't waste all that mental energy.  Find the environment you need to put together the information you need to accomplish your goals.

June 17:  An idea that suggests an adjustment or change of course which affects your reputation or status will arise today.  This could also involve information from a neighbor or sibling that reveals something previously hidden.

June 19:  Transformational changes are afoot that may not be in synch with your current plans.  Look to someone in your household or you home itself for some inspiration.

June 21:  Summer solstice today as the Sun enters Cancer, your 9th House of beliefs, expectations, higher learning, legal matters and so forth.  You will have an entirely different take on an intense situation which will change your view of things and how to deal with it.

June 23:  Seeing your situation in a different way will result from examining your beliefs.  Be sure to confront anything you may be doing that is making it worse instead of better.

June 24:  A transformational change will introduce a conflict with your current plans or situation.  Look for inspiration on how to adapt through someone in your household or spending time at home, perhaps working in the yard or garden.

June 25:  Mercury goes into Cancer, facilitating increased mental activity with regard to your beliefs or anything going on that involves your 9th House as defined earlier.  Another disturbance or disruption is possible as you further examine your situation.  Deep thought, examining all the information, and sharpening your discernment will bring the answers.

June 26:  Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn as described above.

June 27:  Spend some time today bouncing your thoughts off your existing beliefs.  Maybe you've picked up some new knowledge along the way that will affect your view of the world.  A change of course with your goals may be required, but inspiration is out there to guide the way.
