Lunations and Long-term Aspects The New Moon on the 12th occurs in Gemini, your 2nd house of finances, income, possessions, needs and pleasures. Since Taurus rules the zodiacal 2nd House, this is a part of life that in inherent in your makeup; look for something new to come your way in this part of your life. This lunation has numerous accompanying aspects which will add to its intensity. As a Fixed Sign Taurus isn't very receptive or well-pleased with change or surprises but there looks as if there could be plenty coming on the horizon so brace yourself. The aspect that sets the tone and perhaps the alarm for this lunation is that partile conjunction between Jupiter and Uranus in Aries. Both planets recently made the move to the new sign which is going to change the energy significantly compared to when they were in peaceful, dreamy Pisces. Not so anymore. Aries, home of the warrior and direct, impulsive energy, is going to react entirely differently. No more singing Kumbaya, folks, now it's going to be The Battle Hymn of the Republic or Another One Bites the Dust. Jupiter is a benefic planet who generally brings good luck and expansion but Uranus brings disruptions, disturbances, unexpected events, surprises, rebellion, breaking free, and rapid change. On the positive side, he also rules innovation, but don't forget he also rules explosions. Trust me, things will be anything but boring under this transit. From mid-august until mid-March 2011 he'll slip back into Pisces for a spell due to retrograde motion, but once he comes back it will be to stay for several years. That said, let's take a look at what this conjunction is up to with this New Moon. First of all Aries is your 12th House of spirituality, enlightenment, inspiration, dreams, institutions, hidden enemies, confinement, seclusion and self-undoing, a.k.a. the "woo-woo" House. As one of the most stable and practical Earth Signs this is probably already giving your the willies when you think of major, unexpected events occurring in this part of your life. This is not to say they'll all be unpleasant, but they'll take you by surprise nonetheless. Uranus is entirely unpredictable. Whatever you expect will come out differently. This planetary pair is also interacting with every other planet except Mercury as well as the Sun and Moon which of course aren't planets, though in the astrological world we tend to get sloppy and refer to them as such. The only ones who usually complain are those with heavy Virgo leanings, but I like to throw that out there once in a while to let people know that I do recognize that faux pas and in the past it used to annoy me until I got over it. Okay, I'm digressing, but since you're also one of the most patient signs I'm sure you can deal with it. All right. Uranus and Jupiter are squaring Pluto in fellow Earth Sign, Capricorn, your 9th House of beliefs, expectations, religion, politics, other cultures, higher learning, legal matters, long distance travel and relocation. Thus, something in this part of your life which is unresolved is going to get stirred up in an unexpected way and create a challenge of some description. Considering that spirituality lies in the "woo-woo" house and religion lies in the 9th, a conflict between these two areas are one potential outcome. Remember also that the 12th is the house of hidden enemies and self-undoing with the main thing to bear in mind that you need to watch your back as well as your own actions that could be self-defeating. Fortunately you probably aren't impulsive, unless you have strong Aries influences in your Natal Chart because another possibility would be an act of rebellion or breaking away on your part that has legal implications. Another manifestation could be a disruption related to an institution such as a prison or hospital creates an incident that impacts your plans to travel abroad. Or, conversely, you're on vacation in a foreign country and get mugged. Whatever it represents, it's going to reverberate through other parts of your life because this is only one of the planets aspecting that volatile couple. Saturn in Virgo, your 5th House of creativity, children, ego development, romance, entertainment and speculation, is opposing the pair. Saturn has just come out of retrograde in this house where he's been ruminating on something in this part of your life that needs to be restructured. This aspect could jump-start that action or conversely hinder it. Saturn in the 5th is not a pleasant placement. If you've been overburdened with responsibilities in this part of your life, perhaps by your children or a bad romance, you may be inclined to break away at any cost. Or perhaps all of a sudden you have a breakthrough to pursue one of your long-held dreams, but responsibilities are holding you back. With the 5th also the house of speculation, make sure to maintain your usual conservative approach there as well or at least make sure you do extensive research before taking some massive risk. Next in line is Mars, a malefic planet like Saturn, who's also in Virgo. Saturn and Mars in one House are seldom going to have a pleasing effect. However, the result can be beneficial if their message is for you to put some structure behind something and then move on it. In this particular house that could relate to romance, your creative endeavors, children, or perhaps a speculation. Mars inclines you to action which is sometimes aggressive; if you're generally passive, it may attract it from someone else. Mars is quincunx Jupiter and Uranus, an aspect that indicates the need for a change of course or adjustment. Thus, whatever unexpected event transpires indicates a change of direction. Your Sign Ruler, Venus, is making a nice, friendly trine to that pair from her position in Cancer, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, siblings and short journeys. If nothing else this aspect should help you maintain a positive attitude during this time should it prove to be a challenge. This will also enable you to understand the deeper meaning behind any occurrences so you can integrate them into your life and character as the Universe intends. Also included in this lunation is a Yod or Finger of God comprised of Venus and Saturn at the base and Neptune at the eye. This aspect suggests a change of course as well since it includes two quincunxes and a sextile, which typically denotes an opportunity. The opportunity will derive from those positive thoughts or possibly thoughts about money together with that structuring activity mentioned earlier. Neptune is in Aquarius, your 10th House of career, reputation, public image and status. Neptune influences your imagination and provides inspiration though sometimes it doesn't quite interface with reality. Nonetheless, this reinforces the other aspects that imply pursuing something you've been dreaming of. Mars is opposing Neptune which implies some resistance or hesitance perhaps due to those responsibilities. A closed loop between Mercury, Mars and Pluto provides information that will provide a few obstacles, but examining your past beliefs or resolving some old issue will allow you to make the needed adjustments. And then we have the Full Moon in Capricorn on June 26 which is also a Lunar Eclipse, giving it increased punch in your 9th House of beliefs and so forth. This lunation comprises what can best be described as the "T-Square from Hell." Instead of being composed of three planets, there are six with two in each corner. Okay, two of them are the Sun and Moon which aren't planets but you know what I mean. The Moon is conjunct Pluto, not only calling but possibly screaming for resolution with regard to something buried before its time. The Sun and Mercury are conjunct in Cancer, providing you with clear thoughts and information, which should be useful considering the apex is Jupiter and Uranus again, still conjunct in Aries. Thus, this looks a lot like a continuation of whatever got started with the New Moon a few weeks before. There's a closed loop again, this time between Mercury, Saturn and Neptune, which implies your ideas will bump up against your responsibilities, but again using some inspiration and your imagination will provide the adjustments necessary to make it happen. Daily and Short-term Aspects June 4: If you've been unfocused with regard to your career or perhaps pursuing a pipe dream, you may get some opposition from someone or something related to your home. June 6: Jupiter goes into Aries, bringing his expansion, optimism and philosophical vibes to your dreams or imagination. June 7: Mars goes into Virgo, bringing energy and drive to your creativity, children, romantic endeavors or perhaps any speculation you're considering. An adjustment or change of course is indicated due to an unexpected event, sudden brainstorm, or other form of enlightenment. June 8: That unexpected event is due today so keep your eyes open for what it might be. However, it's fairly likely it will be hard to miss. Thinking about how to pull a creative idea together to make it happen is favored. June 9: Be sure you can tell the difference between inspiration and delusion. Trust but verify. June 10: Mercury goes into Gemini, one of his home signs, which will be useful for your thoughts that relate to your possessions, finances and income or determining how best to meet your needs, which is likely to also involve that unexpected event or brainstorm in some way. June 11: Home finances could present an obstacle or challenge today. June 12: New Moon in Gemini as described in laborious detail above. June 14: Your Sign Ruler, Venus, goes into Leo, your 4th House of home environment which should have a beneficial effect on that part of your life. Relationships at home should be pleasant and supportive regarding any unexpected developments. June 15: Taking action on a creative idea, speculation, romantic interest or something related to your children is favored. This could involve a trip abroad, relocation, religion, or academia in some way. June 17: An adjustment or course change is indicated that will relate to your household and beliefs in some way. Perhaps you'll simply see them in a different way than before. June 19: You may have a rather tense confrontation with your finances today that relates to what you're trying to accomplish. June 21: Summer solstice today as the Sun enters Cancer, which will enhance your mental abilities and highlight activities related to your neighbors and siblings. It will also stir up some issues related to that disruption, brainstorm or unexpected event you're dealing with. June 23: Take a hard look at reality versus your imagination and make sure you're seeing things clearly and considering all the facts. June 24: Give serious thought as objectively as possible to meeting your responsibilities while still following your dreams. Where there's a will there's a way. June 25: Mercury goes into Cancer, further enhancing your thinking abilities and ramping up the activities in your neighborhood whether its events with your neighbors or simply running lots of errands. There are bound to be lots of disruptions and unexpected situations that eat up your time. Take a few moments to relax in the evening and wax philosophical so you can put it all into the proper perspective. June 26: Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse as noted above. June 27: If there's anything from your past holding you back this is a favorable time to give it some thought. If there is something you need to organize and bring to fruition that will pave the way to your dream job or career, now is the time to make the necessary adjustments to make it so. |
