Lunations and Long Term Aspects This month's New Moon on the 12th falls in fellow Mutable Sign, Gemini, your 10th House of career, reputation, status and public image. This is where anything about you that's public occurs whether it's getting married, divorced, getting a business license, going bankrupt, being promoted or fired, becoming a parent (especially for the first time), having your last child leave home, graduating from college and so forth. If it involves a title, label or might show up in the newspaper or public record, that's your 10th House. Thus, a New Moon implies that something new is coming your way in this part of your life. There are a couple very interesting stand-outs on this lunation chart, one of which is a Yod or Finger of God, which typically implies a change of direction that leads you to something that in some cases is fated. The planets involved include Venus and Saturn at the base connected by a sextile which in and of itself implies an opportunity. Venus is in Cancer, your 11th House of friends, groups and goals, and Saturn is in your Sign which constitutes your 1st House. If your birthday is within a day or so of September 20 this will have a more noticeable effect. In fact, if that's your birthday you're having a Saturn transit which may be less than enchanting. So here's the deal on that Yod. Venus is a benefic planet which rules love and money and usually brings good things your way. Saturn in your 1st House is about restructuring some part of your life. This sextile thus looks like a potential money making opportunity coming your way from a friend, organizational tie of some sort, or perhaps simply as a result of your own efforts toward a goal. Neptune is at the eye of the Yod in Aquarius, your 6th House of work. Neptune in your 6th House may indicate work in something he rules, such as the oil business, photography, shipping industry where ships are involved, anything that involves your imagination such as movies or writing fiction, and so forth. He can also represent your dreams, though caution is advised since he can introduce illusions and delusions, particularly when he's retrograde as he is now. This all implies that there may indeed be an opportunity come your way but make sure you do your homework to ascertain whether or not it's real or simply a mirage. Knowing that Virgos love details, research and tend to be critical by nature, you will probably do that without being told, but if nothing else these transits can confirm your caution. This is not to say it's no-bueno, only to make sure before doing anything irreversible such as quitting your job to become a Hollywood star. Another major aspect for this lunation that really gets my attention is a partile, or in the same degree, conjunction between Jupiter and Uranus, both of which have quite recently moved into Aries. This is going to change the character of their energy substantially. In other words, rather than singing Kumbaya as they have in peaceful, dreamy Pisces, they will now be chanting "We will, we will rock you" along with Another One Bites the Dust. For me it conjures up the image of Zeus hurling thunderbolts. Uranus is about surprises, unexpected events, breaking free, rebellion, innovation, explosions and so forth while Jupiter expands and exaggerates what he touches so you can imagine the potential. Aries is your 8th House of transformations, death and regeneration, inheritances, debt, shared resources and some astrologers also place sex in this house; anciently sex was in the 5th along with romance and entertainment, so depending on where you rank this human activity you can decide where it is for you. At any rate, this conjunction implies that some big surprises or sudden changes are coming your way in this part of your life that will have a lasting effect. If your birthday is within a day or so of August 23 this conjunction is quincunx your Natal Sun and should definitely be noticeable as a major change in direction. As if the conjunction itself isn't interesting enough, every planet except your Sign Ruler, Mercury is aspecting it in one way or another. For starters, Pluto is squaring this dynamic duo from fellow Earth Sign, Capricorn, your 5th House of creativity, children, romance, entertainment, speculation and maybe sex, depending on your thoughts on that. Pluto is the zodiacal roto-rooter who digs up anything that's been buried before its time and can also signify power or power trips. This implies the potential for a sudden and unexpected crisis or other challenge arising in this part of your life. It may be no more than losing the tickets to that baseball game you'd been planning to attend or it may be more serious. Time will tell. Also aspecting this pair is Saturn who's opposing them. This could bring an attempt to contain or organize the effects. If you're one of those folks having a Saturn transit this will be even more interesting. Bear in mind this could even represent something like a sudden inheritance. Next in line is Mars, also in your 1st House, who for this lunation is conjunct the Natal Sun for those of your born on or within a day of August 26. Mars is also about energy, but he's quincunx the Jupiter/Uranus couple, implying a change of direction or adjustment at a personal level. It could also simply relate to one of the other effects and the need to move forward in a different direction because of it. Last in line is Venus in Cancer, your 11th House as noted earlier. She's making a nice, friendly trine to the pair, which indicates that love or money may come your way as a result of the event, whatever it may be. It could bring new friends into your life or also be favorable toward achieving a goal. Another interesting aspect pattern that as far as I know doesn't have a name comprises a closed-loop connection between your Sign Ruler, Mercury, Mars and Pluto. Mercury is in Gemini, your 10th House of career and status, as noted above. This aspect implies that taking action on those changes as implied by Mars' quincunx to the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction may mean some challenges with regard to your career; conversely, it may be news from your career that necessitates the change. Mars is trining Pluto, however, indicating this action will be favorable for uncovering or regenerating something in your 5th House whether it's your kids, romantic interest, speculations or whatever, which in turn will tie back into your status by effecting a change of course. As you can see there's a whole lot going on with this lunation which should make for an interesting month. The Full Moon on June 26 has even more punch because it happens to be an Lunar Eclipse as well. It's a member of the 12 South family of the Saros Series with the general theme that anything you've been struggling with for a while is going to get worse before it gets better, but it WILL get better and ultimately go away, i.e. be resolved. Thus, take heart regarding any crisis that comes along as this points toward a light at the end of the tunnel, even if at first it seems to be the headlamp of an oncoming train. The aspects with this eclipse/lunation are not very friendly. In fact, I would refer to the main one as a "T-Square from Hell." That is because each corner has two astrological entities including the eclipse Sun and Moon comprising the base. Mercury is conjunct the Sun, the Moon is conjunct Pluto and the apex of the pattern is none other than that Uranus/Jupiter conjunction that was causing all the stir with the New Moon. This definitely implies that whatever comes along with the New Moon isn't going away immediately. The axis of the eclipse is across your 5th and 11th Houses with Jupiter and Uranus in your 8th of transformations as noted earlier. Thus groups, goals and friends as well as your creative efforts, children, lovers or speculations are most likely to be affected. Saturn is opposing Jupiter and Uranus still, which looks like it will help control, contain or rebuild whatever comes out of that action. This one also has one of those closed loops, this time involving Mercury, Saturn and Neptune. The implications this time are that information from a group, organization or friend may indicate problems with your restructuring efforts, but inspiration will bring an idea for a change of course that ultimately works out well all around. Daily and Short Term Aspects June 4: Keep your eyes open for any problems or deceit with regard to your work. If you have anyone out to get you, they may be undermining you in some manner. June 6: Jupiter goes into Aries, your 8th House of transformations, debt and such. This will facilitate a number of interesting experiences for the next year or so. June 7: Mars goes into Virgo, bringing his drive and energy to your 1st House, particularly as he conjuncts your Natal Sun. Put this energy to good use in positive ways; you may notice that you're more impatient than usual during this transit. You may see indications that a change of direction is advisable. June 8: That unexpected disruption or sudden change is due today as Jupiter and Uranus are in exact conjunction. Be alert for news, ideas, or information that pertains to restructuring some part of your life. This will most likely relate to your beliefs and expectations, higher learning, other cultures, religion, politics, legal matters, relocating or anything else that resides in your 9th House. June 9: Events somewhere far away may have an impact on your job today. Be sure to dig out all the information to determine whether or not it's accurate. June 10: Mercury goes into Gemini, facilitating communications as they pertain to your career or status. Watch for opportunities coming your way that relate to that unexpected event or perhaps some other sudden change or disruption. June 11: Moving forward as you'd like may be hampered today by news of some description that affects your status. June 12: New Moon in Gemini today as described above. June 14: Venus goes into Leo, your 12th House of dreams, imagination, enlightenment, institutions, self-undoing, hidden enemies, seclusion and so forth. This should be a positive placement with the possible exception of a female who's out to get you in some way. Nonetheless, an unexpected event of a positive nature, such as a brainstorm or inspiration that could generate money is possible. June 15: This is a positive time to do research with regard to your portfolio. Finding hidden information or reworking past mistakes is favored. It's also a favorable time to rework any old issues with regard to your children or romantic partners. June 17: A change of direction or adjustment due to some deep insights into your situation is likely. June 19: What initially looks like an obstacle for rebuilding some part of your life can ultimately work to your advantage. Take some time to contemplate your situation and be open to inspiration or enlightenment, particularly at work. You never know what one of your coworkers may know or say that turns out to be valuable. June 21: Summer solstice today as the Sun enters Cancer. Another day for something unexpected or disruptive to come your way, perhaps related to a friend, organization or your goals. June 23: Listen and learn today from what's going on around you. You can save yourself a lot of trouble by learning from others' mistakes. June 24: Obstacles related to your restructuring efforts are likely, but again you can stem the tide by tuning into your imagination. June 25: Mercury goes into Cancer, facilitating communications with your friends, organizations and groups as well as obtaining information that pertains to your goals. Sudden or unexpected news is likely with it another good day for resolving old issues or digging out hidden information. June 26: Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn as described above. June 27: Information that surfaces may be contrary to your goals and necessitate a change of direction, but if you use your imagination and solicit inspiration you can find a favorable new path. |
