Lunations and Long-term Aspects This month the New Moon on February 2 is in fellow Fixed Sign, Aquarius, your 4th House of home environment, memories and cultural roots, so keep an eye out for some new development in this part of your life. The New Moon has Mars, your ancient ruler, as an escort with Neptune and the asteroid, Chiron also in Aquarius at this time. If your birthday is right around November 6th this lunation will square your natal Sun which implies a conflict or challenge of some sort is likely. This may simply appear as resistance, perhaps someone or something in your household, that keeps you from doing something you want to do. If your birthday is later in the month, around November 20 - 22 you may see something in this part of your life disappear and cause you disappointment of some sort. The Sun, Moon, Mars trio is trining Saturn, a favorable aspect to a malefic planet, which is a bit harder to delineate than other trine because it may only mean that the energy between Mars and Saturn is strong. However, since it is not a square of opposition, the implication for something favorable is a bit higher, particularly if it's something you want to put to work by harnessing the energy to you will. Saturn is in Libra, your 12th house of angels and demons. This is the woo-woo house of dreams, visions, spirituality, seclusion, institutions, hidden enemies and self-undoing. Saturn just went retrograde, a time when something that needs restructuring in your life is stirring up in your subconscious. You most likely won't even be aware of this, other than perhaps a vague sense of something bothering you. Scorpios are extremely intuitive and you have a real knack for unearthing others secrets but may still have some you keep even from yourself. In particular, if you have any self-defeating behaviors, and most of us do, this transit will be quite effective in rooting it out. Once Saturn goes direct in June the issue should surface in your conscious mind and by the end of September you should have the matter resolved, unless, of course, you choose to ignore it, which isn't particularly wise. The Universe brings lessons our way for a reason and if we ignore them then it will be repeated, probably more forcefully, at some future time. This New Moon connects this long-term project of Saturn to your home environment ins some way, so you would do well to pay attention. As mentioned in previous horoscopes at this site I've mentioned the fact that your sign ruler, Pluto, is currently in Capricorn, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, siblings and neighbors. This is a long-term transit which will last for several years. Having Pluto in this house will be quite beneficial for your sense of discernment and natural forensic abilities. These are already strong in Scorpios and this will put them on astronomical steroids. This month Pluto is squaring Jupiter in Aries, your 6th house of work, health and pets. Jupiter is generally known as a benefic planet though at times he can make you over-confident or blow something out of proportion. Jupiter is also the natural ruler of philosophy, your core beliefs and expectations and expanding your horizons. This aspect with Pluto suggests there may be something related to your work, service activities or health which needs to be addressed, perhaps only with regard to your attitude. If there is anything amiss or not satisfactory in this part of your life, put the power of Pluto to work to dissect and understand it so you can mitigate it properly. Mercury is in Capricorn as well which will further enhance your thought processes. His sextile to Uranus in your 5th house of creativity, entertainment, ego, speculation and children indicates the opportunity for significantly innovative ideas in this part of your life. As far as the Full Moon on the 18th is concerned, this occurs in fellow Fixed Sign, Leo, your 10th House of career, status, reputation and public image. If your birthday is right around November 22 this will square your natal Sun; in fact, it will form a T-square with it, which may bring a few challenges your way. Bear in mind that "status" incorporates a whole lot of things, much as your "status" on Facebook covers a lot of ground. In particular anything you put out in the world, that is in the public record such as licenses, degrees and certifications, and so forth is involved. Aquarius is loaded for this lunation as well with not only the Sun but Neptune, Mars and Mercury also opposed by the Moon. This implies a lot going on in your private and public life. Your sign ruler, Pluto, is still squaring Jupiter, giving you pause with regard to something related to work. An unexpected or sudden change of direction that affects your status is possible, perhaps due to something related to your children or maybe simply to a flash of creativity. Venus and Saturn are squared off with Saturn still in your woo-woo house and Venus in your house of thoughts, ideas, siblings and neighbors. Venus is the natural ruler of relationships and material security.
