The New Moon this month on January 4th starts out the year with a Solar Eclipse in your zodiacal nextdoor neighbor, Capricorn. This eclipse is a member of the 13 North family in the Saros Series. Its generic meaning relates to groups and associations with its energy related to major group projects which will require a separation or breaking of a bond that already exists. For the individual this may be expressed initially as a separation then ultimately a joint achievement. This specific eclipse occurs in your 12th House of inspiration, dreams, enlightenment, institutions, hidden enemies, seclusion and self-undoing. With the Sun, Moon, Mars, Pluto and the North Node all in Capricorn you are highly likely to experience something in that part of your life.

Solar eclipses often bring events or situations your way which you'll have to deal with and have the potential to affect you on the spiritual level. Those of you born between February 15-18 have probably been having an interesting year with Neptune and Chiron conjunct your Natal Sun. During this time you may find it hard to concentrate or focus clearly but your imagination and deep insights into what may appear to be very trivial situations are enhanced. A variety of disruptions and surprises have probably been stirring this up even further. This eclipse will further emphasize these types of events, but there is also potential for favorable things to happen as a result with regard to your career, public image or status. Acting upon them will present a challenge, but when all is said and done it will be beneficial. Your sense of responsibility or willing to take on additional obligations or a new attitude toward existing ones will present a few challenges as well, but again you should be pleased with the ultimate result. Stay in touch with your many friends and keep your eyes and ears open for news that will lead you in the right direction.

The Full Moon on January 19th is in Cancer, your 6th House of work, health, service and pets. As always, a Full Moon frequently brings an ending or culmination, yet every ending also represents a new beginning. You should experience a great deal of internal motivation from this lunation which will show up with regard to your job, service project or possibly your health, perhaps in the form of the realization that you need to make some changes and take better care of yourself. Be on the lookout for something unexpected and potentially disruptive that nonetheless has a favorable outcome in this part of your life. There are still numerous planets in Capricorn, your 12th House, so January will be a time of gaining spiritual insights and considerations. You may even find you have more desire to spend time alone than usual. Typically socializing and interacting with others in energizing, but during this period you are more likely to be less inclined to hang out than before. This will certainly pass in due time, to put it to good use pondering your goals and objectives for the new year.
