Lunations and Long Term Aspects The New Moon this month fall on August 9th in Leo, your 8th House of transformations, sex, death and regeneration and shared resources. If your birthday is within a day or so of January 8 this will have an even more noticeable effect and is likely to give you a nudge in a slightly different direction than you've been going. Pursuits that relate to your career, public image or reputation may encounter a few speedbumps which are going to be related to something from your past. For those of you born within a few days of Christmas, one way or the other, you're already well into a Pluto transit with the god of the Underworld currently retrograde. This will provide motivation to take care of any unresolved personal issues of any variety. This could be anything from cleaning out the garage or attic to a complete overhaul of your core beliefs, depending on which House the Sun falls within in your Natal Chart. Remember that these horoscopes are based on Sun Sign astrology, so when I refer to a specific house it's based on Capricorn being your first house, though this is not necessarily the case for your individual chart, depending on what time you were born. Nonetheless, the effects tend to show up in both houses with the ones identified here most likely to be external events as opposed to those you initiate yourself. For example, I was born on Christmas and Pluto is currently buffeting my Natal Sun. On my birth chart, however, my Sun is in my 4th House of home environment. While I am going through quite a variety of personal transformation, the Plutonian issues are focused so far in my home environment which has included remodeling, plumbing problems, and cleaning frenzies to get rid of old junk cluttering up the place. This includes several boxes of old papers and so forth which were my mother's, who died in 2003. This New Moon, which will typically bring something new into your life as the name implies, brings a T-Square that has quite a bit of punch, not only because Pluto is at the apex in Capricorn but because all corners are in Cardinal Signs, giving it even more punch; these are the signs which are most likely to initiate change. This aspect pattern is likely to manifest with sudden or unexpected changes or events at home that have some matter of ethics behind them. These in turn will reflect on your career or public image in some manner and your responsibilities toward it; this is not to say this will be unfortunate as it could very likely be to your benefit, but may cause a disruption to your personal life. In other words, if you suddenly got a big promotion or windfall it would be a good thing, yet create some challenges which are going to ultimately transform you in some manner. Keep an eye out for thoughts, news or information that will affect your beliefs and expectations or a pursuit in the legal or academic arena as well. The Full Moon on August 24 falls in Pisces, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, siblings and journeys to familiar places. This should bring an ending, culmination or shift to a different phase with something in one of those areas. The T-Square in effect for the New Moon remains and will until into September, so that is still there. Your beliefs and expectations may experience some adjustments that have an emotional basis which shift your public responsibilities in some way. Personal growth will be involved which will ultimately have a positive influence. If your birthday is right around January 1 watch for something new to come into your life of significant proportions. Short Term Aspects August 2: Something related to your home will create a situation which changes you in some way or necessitates resolution so you can move on. August 3: Moving forward with something that relates to your career, public image, or status will bring a challenge to your home life. Resolution lies in resolving past issues or a personal transformation. August 4: Be on the lookout for deception or illusions with respect to your finances, though inspiration is also possible; just make sure it's the real-deal then act accordingly. August 6: Venus enters Libra, bringing her blessings to your career, status or reputation. August 7: There's a slight chance for a favorable surprise today though it may tend to be a bit disruptive. August 8: Taking your responsibilities seriously will reflect well on you today. August 9: New Moon today as described above. Resolving an ethics issue regarding your home environment looks favorable though it won't be without a few hassles which will affect you at a transformational level. August 10: Something related to shared resources or other people's money that affects you and your home is likely to have some action today. August 13: Uranus backs into Pisces, bringing his unpredictable nature back into your house of thoughts, ideas, neighbors and siblings. August 16: An authority figure may be involved with a home issue in some way or your public responsibilities may conflict with your home life. August 20: Dreams or conversely deception related to your income from others is in the spotlight. Interactions with the opposite sex will be intense. Mercury goes retrograde until September 11 so remember not to buy anything electronic or mechanical until after that time. August 21: Old unresolved issues may vie for attention today. Taking responsibility with regard to a matter that affects your status will have a strong effect on you. August 22: The Sun enters Virgo, bringing emphasis to your 9th House of beliefs, expectations, higher learning, legal matters, other cultures, relocation, and foreign travel. Something sudden or unexpected will require a change of course. August 24: More adjustments at home will be required, perhaps due to seeing something more clearly. Full Moon today as described above.
