Lunations and Long-term Aspects This month the New Moon is on August 9 in Leo. Those of you born within a day or so of August 10 can expect to notice it more dramatically as far as bringing something new into your life. The New Moon, i.e. Sun/Moon conjunction, is all by its lonesome self out there, however, in that it's not aspecting any of the other planets. Likewise for Mercury and Neptune. All six of the others, however, are ganged up in a Cardinal T-square which doesn't look particularly friendly. Cardinal signs are action-oriented, so this isn't some quiet little aspect that will pass unnoticed. Of course a lot of it will depend on how it hits your chart, which lucky for Leos isn't too bad. One corner of the T-square comprises Jupiter and Uranus in fellow Fire Sign, Aries, which is a nice, friendly trine away, giving the energy a positive flavor. This is your 9th House of higher learning, legal matters, foreign travel, beliefs and expectations, religion, politics and relocation, to name a few, but you get the idea. Both of these planets are retrograde, which internalizes their energy. Expect the unexpected including all forms of breaking free and rebellion with Uranus, retrograde or otherwise, and Jupiter RX usually brings up ethics issues of some description, so expect to see something that fits that description. Opposing Jupiter and Uranus in Libra, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors and siblings, are Saturn, Venus and Mars. Saturn is all about boundaries, restrictions and structure which is opposing rebellious Uranus, so it's not too difficult to see how a conflict could result from those two energies alone. This could even manifest as an argument within yourself between your thoughts and possibly out-dated beliefs. Conjunct Venus and Mars carry a lot of sexual energy and drive to find a partner. Venus rules relationships, which is likely to be the emphasis here since she's in Libra, which is where that rulership originates. She also rules money, finances and possessions which derive from her rulership of Taurus, so either of these venues could appear with Martian assertion driving them forward. These will be pulling against Jupiter's ethics and Uranus' rebellion and need for freedom, however, so if you're on the prowl for a partner, it doesn't look as if all will go smoothly. The T-square's final member is Pluto who's squaring the other planets from his perch in Capricorn, your 6th House of work, health and pets. While Pluto is in Cappy you can expect to encounter all sorts of interesting situations in the work place such as power struggles, internal corruption, hidden elements and secrets, and major transformations, such as one technology passing away and another one taking its place. This is likely to be the focus of the conflict with the other planets as well. For example, you may be required to let go of old ways of thinking to make way for new methods due to Pluto's activities. As a Fixed Sign, change doesn't come easily for you, so this could be a difficult time. Bear in mind that the T-square is going to be around for a while due to the fact the primary parties are slow-moving outer planets, so this is no short-term influence. The Full Moon on August 24 is in Pisces, your 8th House of transformations which will bring an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase which might have some financial overtones. This could easily complement the New Moon's message and help you keep things moving. The T-square is still there, of course, but there are a few other aspects involved this time as well. First of all, remember that transformations aren't necessarily earth-shattering but can be little changes such as confronting and overcoming a fear or letting go of some old baggage. If you've been too opinionated or rigid in your thoughts about something, it may be time to make a few adjustments. Watch for new insights or information to help you along that path which could also lead to new opportunities. Some course changes will be required, but do your best to take them in stride. Short-term Aspects August 2: Don't be surprised if something that comes up at work that causes a big stir. You'll have your own opinions regardless of what anyone else has to say. August 3: You may find yourself argumentative today as you express yourself regarding the events of the past few days in the workplace. August 4: A favorable day for changing course where your material needs are concerned. Take a close look at your relationships while you're at it to make sure you're not being too idealistic. August 6: Venus enters Libra, bringing her blessings to your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors and siblings. August 7: A female could challenge your beliefs today or spring some other surprise on you. August 8: Financial responsibility is emphasized today. Balance your checkbook and take a good, hard, objective look at your budget. August 9: New Moon today as described above. Watch for more ethics issues to surface at work as well as other information which may challenge your ability to remain optimistic. August 10: You'll be able to see things more clearly than others today, particularly with regard to whatever issues you're currently involved in. Trust your own judgment. August 13: Uranus enters Pisces through retrograde motion, stirring up surprises in your House of sex, death and transformations until next March. August 16: Do your best to be open-minded today if something challenges your current mindset. August 20: If you've been too idealistic or delusional about a relationship you're likely to see it for what it is today. This won't necessarily be a bad thing. Encounters with the opposite sex are likely to be more intense than usual. You may find yourself attracted to someone you'd never thought of that way before. Mercury goes retrograde until September 11, making the coming weeks a favorable time for rethinking, re-planning, reconsidering, editing and anything else that requires re-doing to get it right. Remember not to buy anything mechanical or electronic during this time. August 21: If there's something going on in the workplace, you'll hear more about it today. Keep an open mind with regard to any restructuring you may need to do, such as learning something new. August 22: The Sun enters Virgo bringing emphasis to your 2nd House of income, finances, pleasures and possessions as well as anything you value. You may find something in this area could benefit from a change of course, possibly from something that takes you by surprise. August 24: Full Moon today as described above. More adjustments will be required, perhaps related to your finances. August 25: You may finally see something in it for you with regard to the upheaval at work. Remember that where there's chaos there's opportunity. |
