Lunations and Long-term Aspects The New Moon this month on the 5th is in Sagittarius, your 3rd House of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, siblings and journeys to familiar places which will bring something new to this part of your life. This lunation is mostly friendly with numerous opportunities. If your birthday is within a day or so of October 8 this will be even more influential, especially if you have an idea you want to bring to fruition since there will be some cosmic help out there to provide the discipline you need to make it happen. One challenge to watch out for could involve and idea you want to pursue, yet encounter a conflict from something unexpected at work. The opportunities to watch for include finding the money you need to correct a previous hidden problem you become aware of as well as one to provide additional inspiration for that idea you're trying to hatch. Mercury will be retrograde from December 10 - 30, so this implies you'll be reworking it during that time, anyway. The Full Moon on December 21 is also a Lunar Eclipse, which gives it additional punch that could last as long as six months, until the next eclipse comes along. Or, conversely, it could close out something which got started with the last solar eclipse. There are a few conflicts with this one but also the promise of inspiration to pick your way through it. For background, this eclipse is a member of the 13 North family in the Saros series. According to Bernadette Brady, the general meaning of this eclipse pertains to groups and associations with its energy largely directed at ambitious group projects. However, a separation or break of some bond is required before completion. On an individual level, it can indicate a separation followed by a joint achievement. This eclipse occurs in Gemini, your 9th House of higher learning, legal matters, other cultures, travel to unfamiliar places, and relocation as well as your beliefs and expectations, politics and religion. Clearly there are numerous places within those venues for group activities, so that is the first place to look for how this will play out in your life. Some of the aspects to consider which may lend further clues include a T-square comprising not only the Sun and Moon but three other planets and a Triangle of Potential, which may provide your means for dealing with it. The T-square, which typically indicates a significant challenge, involves your 3rd house of ideas, thoughts, neighbors, siblings and such as noted earlier, your 9th House as defined above and 6th House of work, health, service and pets. Mercury is retrograde at this time, indicating something needs to be addressed again and probably revised, perhaps because it conflicts with your beliefs or some other situation such as a legal matter or relocation. One possibility is that a major change has occurred with regard to your job or health and going some distance is involved which is under consideration. A possible solution lies in some inspired creativity, either of your own doing or perhaps provided by a child or romantic interest, which will give you the leverage you need to make it all work. Saturn is transiting Libra until October 2012 which should be to your advantage. Saturn is in its exaltation in your sign which lends structure and discipline to your sense of fairness. Sometimes Libras are so concerned with being fair and balanced that you start oscillating and become indecisive. Saturn should help in this respect and also enhance your sense of responsibility, particularly when he's transiting your natal Sun. Saturn transits aren't typically what you'd call pleasant, but they do facilitate personal growth and maturity. Those of your born between October 7 - 11 will be the recipients of these lessons this month. Short-term and Daily Aspects December 1: This is an excellent day to relax at home with family and friends. Your sense of hospitality will be at its finest and conversations pleasant. December 2: Taking action on one or more creative endeavors is favored today. You may also find yourself running numerous errands, particularly if you have children, and there could be some mix-ups, such as being at the right place at the wrong time. December 3: Expect some unexpected conflicts and disturbances related to work or service activities. This could be major traffic jams or other things you need to do along the way. December 5: Today you're likely to find out something related to your home that you didn't know before. This could be anything from discovering a problem with your plumbing, a cockroach invasion or significant news with regard to a family member. The New Moon occurs today as well, as described above. December 6: Uranus goes direct after spending several months backpedaling in retrograde. If you've been experiencing numerous surprises and disruptions at work this should help level things out such that a major change can be accomplished rather than fits and starts. December 7: Putting that Saturnian discipline to work to get an idea off the ground is greatly favored today, which should turn out to be very productive. December 8: If you've encountered a home repair or situation you need to address, you should be able to find the money you need to take care of it. Mars goes into Capricorn today, brining his drive and energy to your home environment. However, this placement can also predispose you to accidents, so be extra careful, especially if you're hanging Christmas lights or anything else around the house that requires ladders or power tools. December 10: News or ideas related to home and money will occupy your thoughts today. Whatever they are, expect to make numerous revisions before implementation since Mercury also goes retrograde today until the 30th. December 13: Retrograde Mercury, Mars and Pluto all converge in Capricorn today, your 4th House of home environment. This is not exactly a lucky combination, so be especially careful around the house. Arguments and power plays amongst family members are likely as well as potential problems with your house itself. If you've overdone it with the Christmas lights, this could pop a breaker or worse so be especially careful with regard to power and also such things as candles and your fireplace. December 15: A fortunate turn of events at work could bring you some sort of benefit today, even if it's merely a good feeling with regard to a job well done. December 16: You may encounter some opposition with regard to an idea you have at work or perhaps the boss' son-in-law will get the promotion you were vying for. December 18: This is a very busy day astrologically so you can expect something of significance to happen. It's a good day for creative inspiration or enjoying your children or a bit of romance. A few surprises are likely at work or perhaps with regard to your health and something you'd like to do is likely to be limited by your finances. December 19: Mercury backs into Sagittarius today which will facilitate reworking any existing ideas, which are likely to become apparent now if not previously. This is not favorable for any errands you have to run, during which you'll probably encounter all sorts of traffic snarls, communicating with neighbors or siblings or getting a new idea off the ground. In other words, don't forget to take your blood pressure medication as applicable. December 20: Unexpected news is on the way today. It is also favorable for some creative problem solving. December 21: Full Moon today as described above. Moving forward with something at work is likely to hit a few speedbumps as well. The Sun goes into Capricorn today, which will serve to highlight activities at home. December 22: You may find it hard to get anything done today, especially at home. Misunderstandings are likely so make sure you communicate clearly. December 23: An excellent day to scrutinize your budget, related future plans and anticipated expenditures. December 26: If there are any hidden problems within your household they are likely to surface today. December 27: Revisions will be required in order to keep your plans within budget. December 28: If you're dealing with repairs at home, they're likely to cost more than expected. However, if you're hiring out the work be sure to get more than one bid. December 29: Conflicts at home are highly likely. Moving forward now versus later may arise or using the spit and baling wire approach versus getting it done correctly. Libras excel at compromise, so work this one through in the most sensible way. December 30: Mercury, gratefully, comes out of retrograde.
