Lunations and Long Term Aspects The New Moon this month on July 11 is also a solar eclipse in your polar sign, Cancer. If your birthday is within a day or so of January 10th you will be even more aware of its influence. Solar eclipses tend to stir up events around you where as its lunar component last month on the 26th was more inclined toward internal/emotional affects. The theme of this eclipse, which is a member of the 12 South family of the Saros Series, is that something that has been bothering you for quite some time will at first seem to worsen but will then be resolved. So, if you're a typical Cappy as far as finding it far too easy to slip into a "doom and gloom" mode, bear this in mind during that phase when things get worse. Cancer represents your 7th House of relationships so more than likely whatever this long-term challenge happens to be, it involved someone close to you. The eclipse Sun/Moon is sextile Mars, a soft aspect that typically denotes an opportunity. With Mars in your 9th House of legal matters, academia, teaching/learning, other cultures, religion, politics, beliefs and expectations, travel to unfamiliar places and so forth and so on, watch for a chance to take action in one of these areas in a way that will reflect upon that relationship. Admittedly this may be the very thing that temporarily makes things worse, but think of it as somewhat like surgery in that it's another situation where things seem to get worse but then can heal. This is of course reminiscent of the function of Pluto, to purge and eliminate old corruption. Pluto, of course, is in Capricorn and if your birthday is within a day or so of December 25 he is currently grinding away in reverse on your Natal Sun. As a recipient of this particular transit myself, I must say it's been interesting to say the least. Pluto is very active in this eclipse with the god of the Underworld not only at the apex of a T-Square but aspecting a total of five other planets. The T-Square also involves your Sign Ruler, Saturn and the ongoing conjunction between Jupiter and Uranus. These are all outer planets that move slowly, meaning this T-Square is going to be around for a while. Before July is over Saturn will go into Libra, placing all the planets in Cardinal Signs. These are the ones which are most likely to take action, so there will be a lot of energy associated with it. House-wise it involves your 1st, 4th, and 9th (10th when Saturn enters Libra), with the 1st, 4th and 10th also known as "angular" houses which also have more punch than the others for initiating action. Pluto at the apex implies that deep, transformational changes at a personal level are going to spur you to action which is going to stir up a few things. Jupiter and Uranus are conjunct in your 4th House of home environment, which includes your home and everyone in it. While this aspect can bring sudden luck, it can bring sudden disruptions or other problems as well. With Pluto involved there's a fairly good chance that you're the one stirring things up, or it could also be someone in your life on a power trip. It's thus likely that a power issue or the need to resolve an old issue is going to be the source of an unexpected event or disruption of some sort. Jupiter and Uranus are opposing Saturn, in the 9th house for the eclipse, then the 10th as of the 22nd. The 9th was defined earlier with respect to Mars and includes largely philosophical subjects, implying that a general conflict in one of those areas may be the trigger for personal conflict. When Saturn enters Libra, your 10th House of status, public image, reputation and career, then it will be involved. Remember that "status" includes many things such as getting married or divorced, obtaining a license of any sort, anything that involves a title or label or that might appear in the newspaper. So that ought to give you plenty to think about with regard to that T-Square. But as noted earlier, that's only a fraction of Pluto's involvement in this eclipse. He's also trining Venus in Virgo, also in your 9th House. This certainly has more positive implications that Saturn and Mars, known as malefics, in that venue. Venus rules love and money and typically brings good things your way, especially with a soft aspect such as a trine. This puts a nice spin on things and bodes for a positive experience that could relate to anything from your beliefs and expectations to a relocation that brings something beneficial your way that has a deep and lasting, albeit transformational effect. Pluto is quincunx Mercury in Leo, your 8th House of transformations, shared resources, death and regeneration, and sex. This is the House that Pluto rules zodiacally so this should bring thoughts or information your way that influences you to make a few adjustments at a personal level. Mercury is trining Jupiter and Uranus, so these thoughts are likely to originate from that household issue that possibly takes you by surprise. Venus is quite active as well. Her trine to Pluto was noted above, but she is also opposing Neptune and quincunx the Jupiter/Uranus pair. Neptune is in Aquarius, your 2nd House of finances, possessions, needs and pleasures where he has been for a long, long time. Good things you're a practical Earth Sign because Neptune in this house could otherwise cause quite a few problems. He can be all about inspiration and enlightenment or conversely about delusions, which doesn't usually bode very well for your bank account. Venus who rules love and money is thus having what could be a very interesting dialog with Neptune, who can function much like a fog machine. Something to consider with this aspect would be if you're earning or considering earning some money or likewise spending it for a 9th House activity, make sure you're not being deceived with regard to its true financial impact. Is something going to cost more or bring in less than you expect? Bottom line, make sure you're seeing things clearly and not through Mr. Neptune's complimentary rose-colored glasses. He's quincunx Saturn, also in the 9th, so hopefully your Sign Ruler will put an appropriate amount of structure and discipline in the mix so it all comes out okay. The Full Moon on July 25 occurs in Aquarius, likewise your 2nd House of finances and so forth. A Full Moon typically brings a culmination, ending or shift to a different phase. That T-Square noted above is still in effect with Saturn now in Libra. Neptune is still quincunx Saturn, which should result in an interesting adjustment either toward or away from reality, and also quincunx Mars in Virgo, which relates to a pursuit of some sort in your 9th House of relocation, academia, foreign travel and so forth which will present a Catch-22 or require a change of course, perhaps due to thinking you had more money than you really did or if you're really lucky, vice versa. With the Sun in your 8th House of transformations and shared resources trining Jupiter and Uranus in your home environment, this looks quite favorable. The Sun is mitigating Pluto's work to some degree, helping you to see beneath the surface more clearly. Mercury is opposing Neptune, another two planets that are quite antithetical in their function as it is. If you've been delusional for good or evil with regard to your finances, Mercury ought to be able to bring you the information you need to at least know where you stand. The Moon is at the apex of a Triangle of Potential with Saturn and Jupiter and thus throwing a positive spin on that T-Square which implies you may want to go with your heart as opposed to your head with your current situation. Cappies tend to be solidly based in reality and tend to make decisions based on facts, but sometimes you need to trust your instincts and your heart, especially if you're slightly overwhelmed with conflicting information. In spite of any conflicts instituted by that T-Square, there are numerous positive aspects out there as well to help you put things in their proper perspective and come out on top when all is said and done.
