Lunations and Long-term Aspects This month the New Moon on July 11 is also a Solar Eclipse which occurs in fellow Cardinal Sign, Cancer, your 10th House of career, reputation, public image and status. This eclipse is part of the 12 South family of the Saros Series with its theme that something you've been struggling with for a while now will temporarily get worse but then clear. This eclipse is the solar counterpart to the lunar eclipse in June which had the same theme. If this sounds more like déjà-vu than prediction, bear in mind that the affect of eclipses is often noticeable up to three months before and as long as eleven months after they occur; linear time doesn't necessarily exist in space. Lunar eclipses typically operate on an emotional or internal level whereas the solar versions stir up events and situations. If your birthday is right around October 13 you are extremely likely to see something significant result from this eclipse, if it hasn't already. Bear in mind that the week before an eclipse occurs is an unstable time when anything you initiate is not likely to turn out as expected, so plan accordingly. The most noticeable aspect pattern with this eclipse is a T-Square which comprises Pluto at the apex with Saturn and the Uranus/Jupiter conjunction holding down the corners. Pluto is in your 4th House of home environment where he is doing some renovating of one form or another; Jupiter and Uranus are conjunct in Aries, your polar sign and 7th House of close relationships. This already implies some conflict between these two areas. Remember that relationship in an astrological context includes not only your significant other but close friends and relatives, business partners, competitors, and any professionals you interact with on a regular one-on-one basis such as your accountant, broker, hair stylist or mechanic. For example, if you're remodeling your home, you're going to be interacting with various contractors who could easily fit in your 7th house though the workers themselves will be in your 6th. But I digress. Saturn is currently in the final degrees of Virgo, retracing degrees through which he was retrograde the first several months of this year. During that time he was busy stirring things up in your subconscious regarding things that needed to be restructured. Virgo is your 12th House of spirituality, enlightenment, dreams, seclusion, confinement, institutions, hidden enemies and self-undoing. This is the house that contains your angels and demons, your best side and your worst, the land of fondest dreams and nightmares. This is a bit of a woo-woo house populated with unseen, hard to define entities. So what in this part of your life needs to be restructured? Start by looking at your spiritual health. If you don't find time for contemplation, meditation and feeding your soul, this could be part if not all of it. This is also where we may isolate ourselves and delve into our own little world. This is where those people reside who say they're your friend but try to undermine your efforts behind your back. It's also the house of self-undoing where you sabotage yourself in one way or another. Anything going on in this house is going to be in conflict with one or more people in your life and also reflect back to your remodeling, figurative or literal, in one way or another. Look for some inspiration to help you change course as required. However, rest assured that there are some favorable aspects as well which will also be in force. First of all, there's a partile, or in the same degree, sextile between the Sun/Moon eclipse and Mars. Mars is also in Virgo and will help you move forward. With the eclipse in your 10th House of career, status and reputation, this suggests that if you take action on something residing in your 12th House it will benefit your 10th house in some way. Mars in the 12th could also be an attack by a hidden enemy, so do watch your belt, just in case. For example, if you receive an award of kudos of some sort, someone in the workplace may be extremely jealous for some reason and attack you covertly. Libras tend to be as uncontroversial as possible as a rule, but there are people out in the world that are not as logical, kind, and fair as you. As long as we're talking about your 12th House and Virgo, I may as well also mention that your Sign Ruler, Venus is also hanging out in that locale. This is definitely a good thing which can help mitigate anything unfortunate that could be brewing. Venus is trining Pluto, which will provide some inspiration regarding whatever you're dealing with at home. Venus is also quincunx the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in Aries, which will bring about some adjustments or a change of course with a relationship as you gain new insights into its dynamics. Last but not least, Venus is also opposite Neptune, which you need to keep an eye on as well. Neptune in your 5th House can be great for your imagination as applied to creative endeavors, but you need to be wary of being too idealistic or downright delusional. The 5th includes your creativity, hobbies, children, romance, entertainment, speculation and ego. Libras can be pretty self-effacing anyway, so make sure that Neptune isn't exacerbating this effect. If you're trying to put Venus to work in taking better care of yourself spiritually, if Neptune is eroding your ego, you're not going to make much if any progress. Mercury is in your 11th House of friends, groups, organizations and goals where he's facilitating communications. These will assist you in tweaking your home renovations, perhaps simply by balancing you time spent with each in a different way. Mercury is trining the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction as well, which could bring positive news you're not expecting from someone in your circle of friends. Perhaps someone who is only an acquaintance will be moving up in rank to become closer to you and build a closer relationship. The Full Moon on July 25 occurs in fellow Air Sign, Aquarius, your 5th House of creativity, romance, children, speculation and entertainment. This is the "Fun House" where you enjoy yourself and indulge in creative expression in one way or another. A Full Moon usually brings an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase of something that resides in the house of the lunation. The same T-Square that colored the eclipse is still in force due to the slow-moving nature of the planets involved. One thing is slightly different, however, which is the fact that Saturn is now in your sign. This brings the flavor of the T-Square to a more personal level which is more visible than whatever he was up to in your 12th House. In addition, keep an eye out for news or information from a group, organization or pertaining to your goals that creates a conflict, especially if you've been too idealistic and are expecting too much. Continue to adjust your priorities so that you can also continue to maintain your spiritual health and tend to those 12th House matters. This lunation also contains two Triangles of Potential, an aspect pattern that mediates an opposition. A planet will be positioned between those involved in the opposition such that it trines one and sextiles the other, two soft aspects that help manage the opposition in a favorable way. In both cases the base comprises the Moon and Jupiter, though Uranus is also involved, lending an element of surprise. The Moon, as stated above, is in Aquarius, and sextile Jupiter/Uranus in Aries. The implies that you'll find an opportunity for emotional support from someone close to you regarding something that resides in your 5th House, such as a creative endeavor, romantic interest, child, hobby or speculation. The Moon is trining Saturn which, as noted earlier, has moved into Libra and is sitting on your natal Sun if you were born on September 24, give or take a day. This is the same opposition as the one in the T-Square which implies something unexpected from someone close to you is going to cause some difficulty, though it is totally within your ability to handle it in a fair manner. The Moon will help you find a creative solution to manage things. The other ToP comprises the Moon as well and the Jupiter/Uranus couple at the base with the Sun on the other side. Note that the opposition here is the lunation itself, which implies a conflict between something that means a lot to you and a group situation or perhaps some other goals you may have. The mediating factor with this one is the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction suggesting that unexpected intervention from someone close to you will help balance things out. Brainstorming with your friends is favored this month so don't hesitate to get together with them for ideas. Short-term and Daily Aspects July 1: News related to your career, reputation or status will stir up some motivation to take a different path. Also watch your back for someone trying to undermine you. It's also a favorable time to gather information pertaining to your goals. You're likely to encounter a surprise or two today as well. July 10: Venus enters Virgo, bringing her blessings and protection to your 12th House of spirituality, enlightenment, dreams, confinement, institutions, hidden enemies and self-undoing. Someone close to you may be the source of sudden inspiration today. If you're the center of attention anywhere, watch out for someone trying to undermine you. July 11: New Moon/Solar Eclipse in Cancer as described above. July 13: Inspiration with regard to love or money could change the course of a relationship. It will benefit you greatly to take steps toward taking better care of yourself on all levels so check your priorities. July 20: A change of course to your career path is possible if you harness your creativity in ways you haven't previously. July 21: Saturn goes into your Sign today which will help you restructure your personal life as needed to assure success. July 22: The Sun goes into Leo today bringing light and emphasis to your 11th House of friends, groups, organizations and goals. Find some time to examine your personal goals and identify the means to get there. July 23: Jupiter goes retrograde which typically brings up issues ethical in nature. Expect some surprises with regard to someone you know well, or at least thought you did. There will be a lot of emphasis on getting together with friends and socializing as well as group activity. Keep working on those goals, also. July 24: Expanding an existing relationship may be held back by something unresolved from your past. July 25: Full Moon today in Aquarius as described above.\ July 26: This should be a significant day due to the fact that at least five aspects are exact today at one time or another. For one thing it should be a day when you can access a tremendous amount of inspiration which you can put to use creatively. Look at your goals and associations, too, to determine if there is something holding you back that originated in your past. If you can identify that, you can expand upon an existing relationship in a positive way. Some adjustments are likely today or a change of course. Someone you're responsible for is likely to cause some disruptions which you'll need to handle. July 27: Mercury goes into Virgo which will facilitate bringing inspiration to mind and connecting with your inner self. Watch for a few surprises in this regard that set you on a new path of discovery. July 30: Mars goes into your Sign today which can give you a lot of personal drive. It could also serve to stir up a few conflicts. You may be on the path toward resolving some of those past issues which will result in a few course changes with a close relationship. Expect the unexpected. July 31: If you have something you really need to get done, this is a good day to focus on it and go to town. However, it can also be a day when you feel under attack, especially from authority figures, and you're likely to feel quite helpless in dealing with it.
