Lunations and Long-term Aspects This month the New Moon on the 12th occurs in fellow Air Sign, Gemini, your 9th House of higher learning, long-distance travel, other cultures, relocation, beliefs, and expectations, which will bring something new your way in that part of your life. If your birthday is within a day or so of October 15 this will be even more noticeable. Most noticeable aspect-wise in this lunation is a Yod, or Finger of God, which comprises Venus and Saturn at the base and Neptune at the eye. Your Sign Ruler, Venus is in Cancer, your 10th House of career, reputation and status and Saturn's in Virgo, your 12th House of spirituality, enlightenment, institutions, hidden enemies and self-undoing. Venus could easily be working at bringing you some blessings in the career or status area which could be love or money, since she rules both. While we typically think of the 10th as relating to career, the "status" portion is quite broad. This can include just about anything that could be found in the public record or newspaper, such as getting married or divorced, graduating from school, being promoted or fired, receiving an award or going to jail, winning or losing an election, and so forth. If a title or label is involved, it's very likely to fit under "status." Saturn in the 12th implies there may be something that needs to be resolved before this can happen. Saturn rules guilt among other things and also represents responsibility, our obligations, wisdom and those hard lessons we experience getting there. He just came out of retrograde the end of May so anything he was stirring up in your subconscious will now start to surface so you can take appropriate action to restructure some part of your life. Think particularly about the self-undoing part of the 12th House and whether there's anything you do to sabotage yourself and keep you from progressing or achieving your goals. If you take care of business with Saturn, whatever that may be, it looks as if it will open something up for you. Putting Venus and Saturn together with Neptune, retrograde in Aquarius, your 5th House of creativity, ego definition, children, speculation, entertainment and romance completes the Yod and provides yet another dimension. Neptune is about your dreams, imagination and also how you can be delusional or too idealistic. Being retrograde, this can fog your perceptions even more. Visualizing what you want is a powerful tool for obtaining it, but deep inside you also need to believe that it's possible. You can visualize until the cows come home but if it's no more than an illusion and you know it you're wasting your time if you expect it to materialize. Venus and Saturn are both connected via an aspect known as a quincunx which indicates adjustments or a change of course are required. Neptune in your 5th House of creativity can be well-utilized. What this aspect says to me is that maybe it's time to put things together so you can achieve your heart's desire as far as your career and/or status are concerned. If you've been in the wrong job or simply aren't happy there, you need to figure out what's been holding you back and keeping you from it. If you're letting others drive your decisions, which Libras can be prone to do as you listen to every argument in an objective manner and try to achieve balance at all costs, maybe it's time to have a conversation with yourself and find out what YOU really want. Another interesting aspect accompanying this lunation is the partile conjunction between Jupiter and Uranus, both now at zero degrees Aries. As if this conjunction isn't interesting and potentially exciting enough, every other planet except the Sun, Moon and Mercury is aspecting it. But first, the conjunction. Aries is your 7th House of close relationships which includes not only your significant other but close friends and relatives, business partners, competitors and business professional with whom you interact on a one-on-one basis such as your hair stylist, accountant, broker, insurance agent and so forth. Jupiter expands, exaggerates and inflates while Uranus is simply full of all sorts of surprises, disruptions, and the unexpected. He also influences rebellions, breaking free of restrictions, explosions and so forth. SO. Putting them together looks as if you can look for some unexpected events and behaviors as far as these individuals are concerned. Other than expecting the unexpected, there's not much more you can predict about Uranus since he's entirely unpredictable; no matter how you may think he's going to act it will be different. He is the original entity to say "Ya think?" and do something entirely different. All those aspects may yield a bit of a clue. First, the bad news. Saturn in Virgo, your 12th House of spirituality, enlightenment, institutions, hidden enemies and self-undoing, is opposing this pair. It's an "out of sign" opposition since Saturn isn't in the opposing sign, which would be yours, so this will dampen it just a bit. Saturn is about responsibility, wisdom, hard lessons, authority figures, delays and structure. He just came out of retrograde, implying there is something in your 12th House that needs to be restructured in some way. However, Jupiter and Uranus are not going to be encouraging or cooperating with that effort, which in this case looks as if it involves a relationship. A conflict of some description is very likely, particularly for those of you born right around September 23. Mars is also in Virgo which as noted earlier includes hidden enemies, those people you think are you friend who really aren't. It's also where you sabotage yourself. Mars is quincunx the conjunction pair, an aspect that indicates a change of course or adjustment, so expect to make some changes to how you interact with someone. This may come as a result of your own actions or theirs. Mars in your 12th House could push you toward being more forceful than usual which will be to your detriment or it could come as an unexpected attack from someone you thought you could trust. Be aware that anything you do along these lines may not be in your best interest and at the same time watch your back. Mars is interacting with several other planets at well, but we'll get to that shortly. Venus, on the other hand, is making a favorable trine to the Jupiter/Uranus pair. She is in Cancer, your 10th House of career, reputation, public image and status. As the only benefic planet involved she should bring something of a positive nature you way in this part of your life. It is likely to be entirely separate from that which is going on elsewhere and involve entirely different people. This aspect looks like a very positive and unexpected benefit with regard to your career or status from someone close to you. Venus, as you recall, is also involved in that Yod described above. Now back to Mars. Besides quincunxing that potentially volatile pair in Aries Mars is also squaring Mercury in his dignity in fellow Air Sign, Gemini, which is your 9th House of higher learning, legal matters, other cultures, long journeys, and relocation. Mercury is about news, information and communications in general and a square implies a challenge of some description. For example, Mars in your 12th House could signify moving forward with your dreams, but it also involves relocating which of course is typically not fun. On the other hand, it could also indicate something really obnoxious like finding out you're being sued by someone you thought was your friend. No telling how it will affect you but something will arise. Mars is trining Pluto as well and when two malefics get together there's no telling how that will play out, either. Pluto is in fellow Cardinal Sign, Capricorn, your 4th House of home environment. Pluto in that location is likely to stir up all sorts of issues with regard to your home which includes not only your physical abode but the people in it as well. Pluto unearths secrets and problems that have been buried or ignored. From personal experience that I'm up to the eyeballs in right now I can tell you that one of the things Pluto in the 4th can do is bring out all sorts of issues with your home such as plumbing and electrical problems. Another favorite is insect infestations. With Mars in the 12th of hidden enemies, this could even be something like termites. Be proactive on this one before it gets worse. Inspect your home inside and out and if there are any indicators of a problem don't ignore it. Which reminds me, I need to call an electrician since one of my circuits is acting weird. I have Pluto conjunct my Natal Sun in my 4th House so I know what this aspect can do first hand and it's not fun. It can also be expensive and considering that Pluto rules your 2nd House of finance, be aware you may be hit in the checkbook or plastic with a repair of some sort so watch any discretional spending. Pluto is quincunx Mercury, creating a closed loop such that it's all going to all tie together in some way. Unfortunately Pluto is squaring the Uranus/Jupiter pair as well so it's likely that relationship issues will be involved as well. There's a chance that it may simply be people and not your actual physical home which are the issue, but this isn't necessarily good news since sometimes dealing with people is worse than home repairs. At any rate, you're likely to encounter some challenges this month but the good news is that getting a handle on your dreams and a new direction is in there as well, which can ultimately take you somewhere you've been wanting to go for a long time. As if that's not enough, there's the Full Moon on June 26, which also happens to be an eclipse. You're being bombarded this month, but forewarned is forearmed. This eclipse is a member of the 12 South family in the Saros Series, the general theme of which is that while things may initially get worse with regard to something that's been bothering you for a while, it is nonetheless on the road to being resolved and will eventually be taken care of. In other words, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. The aspects with the eclipse aren't very friendly. In fact, there's what I can only describe as the "T-square from Hell" right in the middle of things with two astrological entities at every corner. The eclipse itself is at the base of the T-Square which lies across your 4th/10th House axis, emphasizing home and your career or status. Mercury is conjunct the Sun and Pluto is conjunct the Moon which suggests information and conversations relative to old issues that could go back as far as your childhood. The Jupiter/Uranus conjunction that we beat to death earlier is at the apex, so this is largely more of the same of what the New Moon kicked off earlier. The only promising aspect is a trine between Mercury and Neptune which may simply signify getting some good news with regard to that new direction in pursuing your dreams. Or it may simply mean to keep your favorite beer or wine handy during this spell. Restructuring your dreams will require adjustments but good news is out there somewhere, even if it's not exactly going to be a primrose path getting there. Nonetheless, a happy ending is out there, so try to remember that while you slog through whatever mire may be in your way. Short-term and Daily Aspects June 4: Something may arise today that interferes with pursuing your goals such that you may think they've simply disappeared. Don't be discouraged, just go back to the drawing board and figure out a way around it. June 6: Jupiter goes into Aries which will provide a tremendous energy boost that will show up in your relationships. Expect the unexpected. June 7: Mars goes into Virgo, bringing drive and action to your 12th House. Now is a positive time to pursue your dreams and enlightenment but you should also watch your back during this transit. Unexpected adjustments or a complete change of course are likely to be required with regard to at least one of your relationships. June 8: If you haven't encountered any surprises yet, you're likely to today. Sudden insights that change you significantly are likely as well. June 9: Give a lot of thought to things that make you who you are today such as your creative works, children, how you enjoy yourself, and any speculations. Inspiration is possible, but don't mistake it as reality. June 10: Mercury goes into Gemini today which will enhance your thinking ability as well as the information flow for such things as educational pursuits, your beliefs and expectations, legal matters, cultural interactions and relocation, as applicable to your individual situation. Unexpected news with regard to someone close to you is likely as well. June 11: Watch your back today not only from others but yourself as well. You don't like arguments or confrontations, but don't let others take advantage of you, either. Be careful not to do anything (or fail to do anything) you'll regret. June 12: New Moon in Gemini as described above. June 14: Your Sign Ruler, Venus, goes into Leo today. This will bring pleasant interactions with your friends your way, enhance your activities with any organizations and also benefit achieving your goals. Any surprises today should be pleasant. June 15: Issues you weren't aware of with regard to your home or those in it are likely to arise today. If you haven't already done so, take a good look around for any problems brewing. Now is not the time to ignore conflict or be passive aggressive. June 17: A change of course or adjustment to your goals may be required due to information that has surfaced recently. June 19: If any of your beliefs and expectations are inaccurate or misplaced, you're likely to discover it today. The need to restructure a few things is trying to get your attention. Use creative problem solving to find a solution. June 21: The Sun goes into Cancer today, your 10th House of career, reputation, public image and status bringing emphasis to this part of your life. This may not set too well with someone close to you. June 23: Your beliefs or expectations with regard to a relationship are likely to be affected in some manner. You may also expand your relationship with someone related to academia, religion, politics, or the legal profession. June 24: News that reflects upon your responsibilities in some way is likely. Don't be too hard on yourself if you've messed anything up. You may not be seeing things as clearly as you should. June 25: Mercury enters Cancer today, facilitating communications and information with regard to your career or status. This is an excellent time to gather information and network. Unexpected news is likely again as something previously hidden comes to light. June 26: Full Moon/Luna Eclipse today as described above. June 27: More news or information pertaining to that issue you didn't know about is forthcoming. Inspiration or enlightenment is out there but be sure to put the proper bounds around it if you plan to act on it in some manner. |
