Lunations and Long Term Aspects The New Moon on February 2nd is in Aquarius, your 2nd house of finances, possessions, needs, values and pleasures. This sign is quite packed with energy this month between the Sun, Moon, Mars within less than a degree of the lunation, as well as Neptune and the asteroid, Chiron, a.k.a. "the wounded healer." Thus, you can expect something new to come along in this part of your life. The Sun, Moon, Mars trio is throwing a trine to retrograde Saturn, your Sign Ruler, over there in fellow Cardinal Sign, Libra, which happens to be your 10th house of career, public image, and status. As your Sign Ruler, you are probably quite aware of Saturn's behavior and know that retrograde periods typically result in various delays and restrictions; as a fellow Cappy I know that this is not a time of year that I particularly enjoy. Somehow it just seems to have a heavy, weighted-down feeling to it that can definitely contribute to any winter blues, at least for those of you in the northern hemisphere, many of whom are experiencing a rather nasty winter this year. As far as that trine is concerned, it bears some consideration. Typically a trine denotes harmonious energy, but when it's between two malefic planets like Mars and Saturn there's no telling since it can sometimes mean that the malefic energy is blending well which certainly isn't particularly good. However, Libra is the sign of Saturn's exaltation, so hopefully in this chase his restructuring of something related to your status will ultimately turn out in a favorable way. If you're not entirely delighted with the status quo, then this especially can bode well for positive changes which will probably relate to your finances or possessions or income in some manner. Clearly this is a connection between your career and income, so more than likely some restructuring is going on in that part of your life. Mars implies taking action though conversely it can mean you're the recipient or target. This is where you need to use that energy to your advantage so that it doesn't use you. Neptune in this house may tend to make things evaporate or disappear, though Neptune can also bring inspiration. Neptune is sextile Venus, natural ruler of love and money, which is in Sagittarius, your 12th house of dreams, visions, spirituality, institutions, hidden enemies, self-undoing as well as any angels and demons. This combination could easily stir up an inspired opportunity that could generate some income. Mercury in your sign and Uranus in Pisces are also sextile, indicating another opportunity. Pisces is your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, siblings and familiar journeys, so this one has a lot of mental energy attached. Uranus contributes innovation, originality or perhaps even a touch of rebellion which could also manifest as speaking your mind about something. The obstacles or challenges associated with the New Moon to watch for involve a square between Venus and both Uranus and Jupiter as well as a square between Pluto and Jupiter. The square between Venus in your 12th and Uranus in your 3rd implies that some dream or vision of yours will be jeopardized by either your own rebellious thoughts or an unexpected event involving your siblings or neighbors. This could also indicate sabotaging your own dreams or some self-defeating behavior based on your own negative thoughts or attitudes. After all, Cappies aren't known for their "doom and gloom" for nothing. Venus' square with Jupiter, which recently went into Aries, your 4th house of home environment, memories, and family/cultural roots, suggests more obstacles or conflicts related to expanding your home or something or someone in it that may also conflict with your dreams or even be affected by that same self-defeating behavior. The final square between Pluto in your sign, as I'm sure you're totally aware, particularly if you were born the last week of December, and Jupiter, again relates to your home in some way and overcoming something from your past. The Full Moon on February 18 is in Leo, you 8th house of transformations, death and rebirth, sex, debt and shared resources. A Full Moon usually brings and ending, culmination or shift to a new phase. With all those planets in Aquarius opposing the Moon, there appears to be a fair amount of energy pulling against it. These include Mercury, Mars, Neptune and of course the Sun, all in your 2nd house of finance, income and possessions. One possible influence from this could be having to confront a financial situation or having to go into debt for something you want, which isn't something you want to do. The square between Pluto and Jupiter mentioned above is still in effect and there is also a square between retrograde Saturn and Venus. This square sill be most noticeable for those of you born right around January 7th, though the fact that Venus is conjunct your Natal Sun is actually usually quite beneficial. Venus enters Capricorn on February 5th, which should generally bring all Cappies some additional charm and good fortune. A square with Saturn isn't usually much fun, but in this case, this will relate to whatever Saturn is up to in your house of career and status and perhaps present a challenge with regard to any restructuring you're looking at, but Venus will give you a bit of luck and any necessary charm required to take care of business. While this month holds a few challenges, there shouldn't be anything outside your ability to handle it well. Just remember to use the energy so it doesn't use you. |
