Lunations and Long-term Aspects The New Moon/Solar Eclipse on June 1st is in Gemini, your 8th house of transformations, sex, death, intense experiences, shared resources and debt. It that rings a bell, it's because Scorpio rules the zodiacal 8th house, making these important elements of your psyche. If your birthday is within a day or so of November 4th you can expect this to have an even stronger effect because it will form a quincunx with your natal Sun, implying a change of direction. Eclipses have quite a bit more punch than the typical lunation and in the case of the solar version you can expect events or situations to come your way which may have a significant impact on your life. The planet with the most significant aspect to the eclipse is Saturn, still retrograde at this time but due to go direct before the Lunar Eclipse/Full Moon on June 15th discussed below. Saturn has been retrograde in Libra since late January where he's been messing with something in your 12th house which comprises enlightenment, spirituality, inspiration, transcendence, the collective consciousness, institutions, seclusion, confinement, hidden enemies and self-undoing as well as various other angels and demons. Saturn's RX function is to stir up unconscious ruminations with respect to something in the house he's transiting which needs to be restructured. So, take a look at those things it comprises and see if you can figure out Saturn's message for you. Not to worry if it's elusive, however, because when he goes direct on the 13th you will begin to understand what it's all about if not before. The implication with this tied into the eclipse is that this revelation, whatever it happens to be, is going to have a transformational effect. Another thing to keep an eye on with this eclipse is a T-square between Saturn, your sign ruler, Pluto, and Uranus. Saturn's meaning remains the same as described above and is in conflict with Pluto who's currently transiting Capricorn, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, siblings and journeys to familiar places, including routine errands and your daily commute. Pluto's function is transformation as well, lending more energy to the eclipse generally. As the zodiacal backhoe Pluto's function is to unearth those things which have been buried without being resolved. He's also about power and control, likewise obsession, which you Scorpios should understand as well as anyone. If you have been obsessing on something then you can bet that's Pluto at work, or it could involve something from the past that needs to be resolved with neighbors or your siblings. You may find that various old memories or situations, most likely those that didn't end well, come to mind on a regular basis, too. The square between Pluto and Saturn thus suggests a conflict between that 12th house matter and something unresolved in your life. Considering that the 12th includes self-defeating behaviors, perhaps you're obsessing on something that is ultimately causing your downfall. With Uranus also tied into this aspect pattern, he's going to have an influence as well. Uranus is in Aries where he has been stirring up all sorts of trouble worldwide. Uranus is the planet of disruptions, disturbances, breaking free of constraints, innovation, originality and uniqueness. Aries is your 6th house of work, health, service and pets, so the odds are high that you've been seeing all sorts of crazy things going on in the workplace or perhaps your health. There is a possibility that you are precipitating these disturbances, depending on what they are. If your health has been unstable lately, it may be because of those unresolved issues and such. If it's a work, perhaps you're projecting your unrest on those around you. Or perhaps it's the other way around, work is entirely insane lately and it's stirring up your mind and spirit in a disquieting way. It's also worth noting that Mercury, Venus and your ancient sign ruler, Mars, are all in your polar sign, Taurus, which represents your 7th house of close relationships. Bear in mind that this house includes your significant other, close friends and relatives, business partners as well as business professionals with whom you interact on a one-on-one basis such as your attorney or accountant. Competitors are there as well, so not everyone in this house is your friend but at least you know it if they're not; the ones who pretend to be but really aren't reside in the 12th. Mercury facilitates communications with Mars and Venus suggesting that these issues may involve your significant other, though not necessarily so. Mars could also indicate you're under attack from someone entirely separate from your significant other. Whatever this conflict happens to be, it's probably not helping all that other stuff going on, in fact it could even be partly to blame. Clearly all this doesn't provide any answers per se, but you can at least see, if they ring a bell, that there is some significance to what is going on in your life on the cosmic level. The Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse on June 15 is in nextdoor neighboring sign, Sagittarius which comprises your 2nd house of finances, income, values, possessions, needs and pleasures. Lunar eclipses typically affect you more on the emotional or mental level. The need for a change of direction is implied in this part of your life. Hopefully this will be the natural result of taking care of business appropriately as prompted by the solar eclipse. This is likely to involve a relationship in some way which is going to change course in some way. You may also have to defend your position in an assertive manner. Jupiter is in Taurus, your 7th house, which bodes well for expanding a relationship in some way; just because there are issues doesn't mean something has to end. Indeed, if you resolve past problems maybe you can effect a new start, something that Pluto really wants to achieve because he's really about healing and rebirth though he also covers anything that has to happen in order for that to occur. Jupiter is sextile Neptune which lends a bit of a clue as well. Neptune is in your 5th house of ego definition, creativity, romance, children, entertainment and speculation. This outer planet brings inspiration, enhances your intuition and helps you see beneath the surface, something Scorpios already excel at with their natal x-ray vision. Neptune can also bring delusions, deception and illusions, however, so you can't always trust him. He also dissolves what he touches. The implications I see here is that expanding that relationship will come through eliminating some pride on your part, some ego issue that is keeping you from progressing. The seeming promise of this aspect is that if you're willing to get past what is politely called a recto-cranial inversion, you have an opportunity to enhance a relationship with someone close to you. And that ought to give you enough to think about until next month. |
