Long-term Aspects and Lunations

Those of you with birthdays right around December 8th may be experiences a significant life change at this time as the Lunar North Node transits your Natal Sun.  The Nodes mark the zodiacal locations of the Moon's orbit where it crosses the ecliptic with the North Node a.k.a. Ascending node where the Moon moves into the Northern Hemisphere and the South or Descending Node where it goes below the ecliptic toward the Southern Hemisphere.  The North Node typically brings something into your life whereas the South Node usually makes room for whatever it is by escorting something out.  The two oppose each other and thus work together in this fashion; they move in a retrograde direction due to precession.   A Nodal Return, or when they return to their natal position, takes approximately 18 years with a nodal opposition inbetween.  These will usually mark important turning points in your life which will relate to their house position, whether those used here where your Sun Sign defines your first house or in your natal chart where the house structure is defined by your ascendant.  Thus, for the purposes of this horoscope, look for something to change with regard to your close relationships.

The Full Moon on October 11 is in fellow Fire Sign, Aries, your 5th house of ego definition, creativity, romance, children, entertainment and speculation.  This is typically a pleasant part of your life where you enjoy yourself.  A Full Moon typically denotes an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase so something in this part of your life should fit into that category such as the completion of a creative endeavor.  If your birthday is right around December 11 this lunation will form a Triangle of Potential with your Natal Sun which should bring something fortunate your way if you take advantages of any networking opportunities to promote it or it could also simply mark the completion of a goal.  Also occupying Aries is Uranus, planet of disruptions, surprises, the unexpected, freedom, innovation and at times, rebellion.  He is currently retrograde, which makes him even more erratic, so be prepared for some surprises in this part of your life as well.  If your birthday is right around November 24 these should be of a fairly pleasant nature but disruptive nonetheless. 

Your 11th house of friends, groups, organizations, goals, hopes and wishes is Libra and occupied for this lunation by the Sun, Saturn and Mercury.  The Sun and Saturn are conjunct bringing emphasis to this part of your life with encouragement to bring more structure to it as well, whether by being more involved with others or perhaps simply being more diligent about defining and tracking your goals.  Mercury in that venue will be very helpful for the exchange of ideas, especially given that Neptune is in your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings and neighbors and being trined by Mercury, lending a bit of extra inspiration.  So if you're trying to gather ideas and could use a little extra boost, socializing with the right people is likely to deliver exactly what you're looking for.

Your Sign Ruler, Jupiter, is retrograde in Taurus, your 6th house of work, service, health and pets.  While retrograde his influence turns inward and can reflect ethics issues or simply promote philosophizing with regard to that part of your life.  This will promote ponderings of all sorts about this part of your life and have the potential to have a transformational effect given that he's trining Pluto in Capricorn, your 2nd house of finances, income, possessions, needs and pleasures.  This is an excellent time to think about what your needs really are, financial and otherwise, and whether your current job fills the bill.  Transforming this part of your life could go either was as far as income is concerned but doesn't necessarily mean it would be detrimental.  Sometimes a simpler lifestyle that reduces your income but gives your more time and energy to do the things you love is actually an increase in happiness.  With Pluto in your 2nd house you will find such matters being shoved in your face, one way or the other.  If Uranus brings you some irresistible urge to pursue some creative endeavor or other 5th house subject you may find that money gets in the way.  However, if you're willing to fully explore the situation you will find some interesting answers to your dilemma.  Venus is in your 12th house of spirituality ready to help you make any necessary adjustments to your values.

The New Moon on October 26 is likewise in your 12th house which comprises not only your spirituality but enlightenment, transcendence, confinement, institutions, seclusion, hidden enemies, dreams and self-undoing, essentially the house of angels and demons.  This is also where the collective consciousness resides and how you access it.  This is an excellent time to start a new endeavor in this part of your life, whether it's something like yoga classes or learning to meditate, which Mercury and Venus in that same sign and house will definitely help facilitate.  Don't make the mistake of thinking that this is about religion, because it's not.  Religion is part of your 9th house of beliefs and while it can help provide a path or instruction that will ultimately relate to your spirituality, they are not the same and actually comprise houses which square each other, implying conflict between them. 

Mars is currently in Leo, your 9th house, and probably prodding you toward action toward something in that house.  This is Sagittarians favorite house as it's the one it rules zodiacally and includes higher learning, legal matters, other cultures, religion, politics, long distance travel as well as your beliefs and expectations generally.  Action in this area requires some structure, which Saturn is assisting from your house of groups, but note that whatever is going on there is likely to conflict with something in your 12th.  This is a rather complex situation where you need to do the mix and match routine for the houses because the possibilities are far too endless for me to define.  In other words, Mars is driving you to take action with regard to something in your 9th which is going to conflict with something in your 12th.  As one example, you may find that your true spiritual values actually conflict with your religion or political views or pursuing some new course of study may not be in harmony with your spiritual health or if you're involved in some legal matter, you may say something which results in undermining your case.

There are financial implications associated with this lunation as well which will offer an opportunity for transformation in this part of your life and relate back to your job.  Again, this is a time to take a close look at what your beliefs and values really are.  Flashes of inspiration are possible at a deep, visceral level which you need to pay attention to.  Also, if there are any conflicts between your core beliefs and your current job now is the time to address them as well, whatever it takes.  Capisce?
