Lunations and Long-term Aspects

The long-term aspect to be aware of currently is that Uranus - Pluto square. The last time these two planets were in this aspect was in 1932 - 1933 and they formed a conjunction in 1965 - 1966 so if you consider what was going on in the world during those years you can get some idea what may manifest over the next year or so. Pluto in Capricorn is likely to come about as a variety of power grabs accompanied by exposure of corruption at the government and corporate levels, something that is certainly in the news these days. The square from Uranus, planet of rebellion, surprises and the unexpected in impulsive Aries is likely to show up as the people at large no longer being willing to tolerate such behavior on the part of their leaders.  Given that both planets are in Cardinal signs which tend to take action should produce some interesting times.

On the personal side this aspect's influence will depend on how it hits your chart. Capricorn is your 12th house of angels and demons, i.e. dreams, inspiration, enlightenment, spirituality, confinement, seclusion, institutions, hidden enemies and self-undoing. This suggests a long-term transformation of this part of your life. Aries is your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and local travel. Uranus in this venue is likely to stir things up with a variety of things coming your way out of the proverbial blue. These, in turn, may bring about enlightenment or deep understanding that has a transformational effect via the link with Pluto.  There is a favorable feel to this, however, given that Aries is sextile Aquarius, a soft aspect that typically denotes an opportunity. If your birthday is right around January 28 you are most likely to feeling these effects now.

The month begins and ends with a Full Moon, giving us two of them to consider this month though the effects of the second one are likely to show up in September. The first one on August 1 is in your sign and right on your natal Sun if your birthday is right around January 31. The Sun is in your polar sign, Leo, which represents your 7th house of relationships including your significant other, close friends and relatives, business partners and professionals and competitors, bringing emphasis to this part of your life. Of course Aquarians are all about friends and people and you may experience an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase with regard to someone in this category at this time. There is a yod or finger of god associated with this lunation with Pluto at the eye and the Sun and Jupiter comprising the base. Its implications are for an expansion of your self-definition, i.e. your ego, or perhaps involvement with your children, a romantic partner or new creative effort which bring about an opportunity for a focus on relationships which ultimately brings about some sort of enlightenment or examination of your spiritual values. Venus in Gemini, a fellow Air sign, is trining Saturn in Libra, another Air sign, which means if your birthday is right around February 12 - 16 they will combine with your Natal Sun to form a Grand Air Trine which will greatly enhance your life in a variety of ways given that the houses involved are your 1st, which is you and your personality; the 5th which is your ego definition, creativity, children, romance, entertainment and speculation; and 9th which contains your beliefs and expectations, politics, religion, other cultures, legal matters, long-distance travel and relocation. Thus, looks for an interaction between these areas that has a tendency to structure how you see and manifest your creativity and beliefs.

The New Moon on August 17 is in polar sign, Leo, and opposite your natal Sun if your birthday is right around February 15. Again, this is your house of relationships so this implies a new one coming your way. There are several opportunities attached that again tie into your beliefs and expectations and taking action on them in a way that firms them up. Mercury is now direct, a time to implement those changes you may have made in your thinking while he was retrograde. Innovative ideas may come from someone close to you or may create a situation where there is a lot of spontaneous travel of a fairly local nature or possibly a lot of activity involving siblings or neighbors.  There may be some conflicts with your work schedule or it could also affect your income if you have to take off from work, but over all this should be a favorable situation.

The Full Moon on August 31 is in Pisces, your 2nd house of income, possessions, finances, needs and comforts. Watch for an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase of something in this part of your life. There is another yod with this lunation comprising the Sun and Mars at the base and Uranus at the eye. Its implications are for taking action with regard to your career or status will bring about a transformation which in turn brings about innovative ideas or further activity in your neighborhood or perhaps with your siblings. This could be some sort of community work as one example, something for which an Aquarian is naturally suited. Work could get in the way again, a situation that many encounter on a regular basis where you find that your job is interfering with your life unless you're one of those lucky souls who loves your work.  There is an opportunity lurking in this lunation, however, which can help you to discover exactly what it is you do love and come up with some ideas on how you can transformation your dreams into reality.
