Lunations and Long-term Aspects A long-term aspect to be aware of is the square between Uranus and your sign ruler, Pluto which will be in effect on and off for quite a while. The last time this occurred was in the 1932 - 1933 timeframe and those two were conjunct in 1965 - 1966. You don't need to be a history major to recognize that those were pretty interesting times. Currently both planets are in Cardinal signs which are likely to take action, making it even more interesting. With Pluto in Capricorn you can expect to see power grabs and exposure of corruption at the government and corporate level. Uranus, planet of rebellion and the unexpected, is in impulsive Aries, making the likelihood of the common people no longer tolerating misbehavior on the part of their leaders likely as well, given the square relationship between the two planets. On the personal level their effect is going to depend a lot on how they hit your chart. Hard aspects in the transits can often interact with your own chart in a favorable way, so even if things around you in the world at large are going to hell in the proverbial hand basket you can still benefit and even thrive. Scorpio is in sextile aspect with Capricorn and quincunx with Aries, neither of which is typically too difficult. Sextiles typically bring an opportunity and a quincunx is all about changing direction or making an adjustment, its difficulty usually related to how much you resist the inevitable. If your birthday is right around November 1 then Pluto is currently sextile your natal Sun from your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and local travel. Pluto in a Scorpio's 3rd house is a Scorpio mind on steroids. You already have an uncanny ability to flush out secrets and smell a cop with a radar gun two miles away and this will enhance that power of discernment even more. You love secrets and this will deliver them to you with little if any effort on your part. Aries is your 6th house of work, health, service and pets so with Uranus in that venue you can expect a variety of surprises in this part of your life. Uranus rules technology so it could simply mean involvement in that respect though it could also mean a variety of sudden changes and disruptions. Here you have the planet of sudden change in a quincunx with typically denotes a change of direction, so that is quite a no-brainer. It could mean that you change jobs a lot or simply a crazy, hectic pace. Factoring in that square to Pluto transit-wise presents the possibility for something like road construction being in your way getting to work and causing you to be late. It could also indicate that your powers of discernment and ability for deep, forensic thinking stirs things up at work and creates a series of figurative explosions on the job. Pluto can also indicate such things as oil exploration while Neptune rules oil itself. If you are in exploration business, then this square suggests some major surprises along the way which will presents a variety of challenges along the way. This month begins and ends with a Full Moon with the first one on August 1st in fellow Fixed sign, Aquarius, your 4th house of home environment, memories, endings and new beginnings. A Full Moon typically brings a culmination, ending or shift to a new phase so this has increased influence in this particular house for starting something new. With the Sun in Leo, your 10th house of career, status and reputation, it's possible that this new beginning will be as a result of something occurring that affects your 10th, whether it's a career change or status issue. Status encompasses numerous situation almost as varied as what you might post on Facebook. Anything that is out in the world, particularly related to public records, what may appear in the newspaper or involves some sort of label or title. For example, if you're promoted or conversely fired, win public office or are ousted, become a landowner, retire, etc. it is 10th house fare. These polar houses typically influence each other, anyway, but a lunation across that axis will bring stronger emphasis. If your birthday happens to be right around November 3rd this lunation will form a T-square with your natal Sun and thus be more noticeable. There is a yod or finger of god with this Full Moon with its eye on Pluto and base comprising Jupiter in Gemini and the Sun in Leo. For those of you born around November 3rd Jupiter is quincunx your natal Sun which brings another yod into the picture so between the two of them some sort of change of direction or adjustment is quite likely. Jupiter is in your 8th house of transformations, reinforcing Pluto's function in this area. As a benefic planet, this should be of a favorable nature. Venus is in that house as well, another positive indicator, and she is trining Saturn in your 12th, indication inspired transformation or enlightenment. Clearly this is an excellent time to meditate or seek spiritual guidance. Mercury is retrograde, suggesting the possibility for rethinking or revising your stance on something. The New Moon on August 17 is in Leo, your 10th house as mentioned earlier, further indicating something new coming your way in your career or status. There are numerous opportunities out there but they are likely not to be on the material plane but on a more esoteric level. Again, inspiration and enlightenment are favored, perhaps an opportunity to redefine your spiritual life or quest for meaning. Given the involvement of the 10th you may have the opportunity to provide inspiration to others or perhaps garner some from a public place or event. Mercury is now out of retrograde, a time when you will accept and perhaps act upon anything under review during the retrograde period and could result in another change related to your job. By the way, if people work for you, then Uranus in the 6th may bring some unconventional people your way or signify various disturbances related to your employees. The Full Moon on August 31 is in fellow Water sign, Pisces, your 5th house of ego definition, creativity, children, romance, entertainment and speculation. Neptune is in this sign which he rules for the long haul, bringing a lot of inspiration and dreaminess to this venue, something that can be extremely beneficial for you creative types out there. Neptune can bring idealism or delusion as well, however, so be sure to use that Scorpio discernment when something seems too good to be true, especially if it involves a love interest of a child to say nothing of a speculation. Neptune is often involved with huge windfalls but it can also cause things to disappear, if you take my meaning. There is another yod in this lunation with the eye on Uranus and base with the Sun and Mars, your ancient sign ruler. Its implications bode nicely for taking action on your goals or perhaps involvement with any groups or organizations which look as if they can bring some surprises with regard to your work. Thus, if you are thinking of changing jobs, it looks as if networking is a good idea as well as taking personal action to make it so. |
