Lunations and Long Term Aspects
The New Moon this month on the 13th is in Sagittarius, your 4th house of home
environment, cultural roots, memories, endings and new beginnings, making it an
excellent time to start something new or, conversely, finish something up.
The main feature in the chart for this lunation is one of the yods that got
started last month, i.e. the one involving Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto,
though there were a couple other planets involved back then as well which were
in conjunction with the latter two. Those planets have since moved on,
leaving these three to move toward the same degree which occurs on that infamous
day, 21 December 2012, a.k.a. the winter solstice. Astrologically, this
event is defined by the moment the Sun goes into Capricorn, or the Capricorn
Ingress. When the Sun goes into a cardinal sign it marks one of the
turning points of the seasons and relates to the fact that cardinal signs are
action-oriented. Those who pursue mundane astrology, including the study
of how it relates to the weather, typically use these ingress charts to
speculate on what will occur during that particular season. For those of
you who may be wondering, the chart for this event is not particularly
impressive, other than the yod. I have certainly seen those which looked
much more ominous, such as the one for Hurricane Sandy. Over all, it looks
like some sort of consciousness change but certainly not the apocalypse.
For those of you who want to see it yourself, here it is. Jupiter, the eye of the yod, is in fellow mutable sign, Gemini, your 10th house of career, reputation, public image, and status. Bear in mind that "status" here is just about as diverse as it is on Facebook, particularly for things that might turn up in the newspaper or public record. This is the public "you" that the world sees and ultimately relates to what you'll be known for. If your birthday is right around September 2 Jupiter will square your natal Sun, making this more likely to have a noticeable impact. Jupiter is typically a benefic planet but he's in debility in Gemini where he tends to generate too much information, though it is a favorable aspect if you're trying to gather some up and go through it. Being retrograde, Jupiter may also relate to something going on which could involve ethics or some philosophical issue. The base of the yod involves a sextile between Pluto and Saturn. A sextile typically denotes an opportunity, but the yod indicates taking action on it will entail some course changes and adjustments which may be easier said than done. Pluto is in fellow Earth Sign, Capricorn, your 5th house of ego definition, creativity, children, romance, entertainment and speculation. Pluto helps you get to the bottom of things, take control, eliminate things you no longer needs and confront unresolved issues from the past. Saturn is in Scorpio, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and local travel. Saturn relates to structure, responsibility, obligations, authority figures, karma and hard work. One possibility here could be going into business with a sibling or neighbor in pursuit of one of your creative ideas. Or perhaps your boss will take you up on that new idea you came up with a while back which is going to necessitate a whole bunch more work than you planned on. All of this could take you by surprise and it's also possible that you'll misunderstand the situation or not get accurate information. The Full Moon on December 28 has this same yod still in force, so this energy is in force for quite a long time, at least a month. The Sun have moved in next to Pluto so if you haven't figured it out yet, this might help literally bright it to light. With the lunation itself occurring in Cancer, your 11th house of goals, friends, organizations, networking, hopes and wishes, watch for something to culminate or shift to a new phase there, though this may be necessary to clear the way for whatever new situation or activity is coming your way. It's likely that a few surprises will be involved as well as disruptions, so don't expect everything to go smoothly. A note for those of you born right around August 23 is in order. Neptune is currently opposing your natal Sun in your 7th house of relationships including your significant other, business partners, business professionals, close friends and relatives and competitors. Neptune is pretty-much the opposite energy from what your prefer in the way of predictable, concrete, precise, black and white facts. This could cause some confusion with your relationships or even delusion or deception. Unrealistic expectations are also possible along with general confusion or the impression that these people are generally out in Lalaland somewhere. Just thought I'd throw that in there in case you're seeing anything like that and wondering what's going on. This could go on for as long as a few months, so if you're seeing anything like this, bear in mind that with Neptune involved it could also be your imagination. Just sayin'. |
