Long-term Aspects and Lunations The Full Moon this month on February 7th is in fellow Fire Sign, Leo, your 9th house of higher learning, legal matters, long-distance travel, other cultures, religion, politics, beliefs and expectations and so forth, in other words all those things for which Sagittarians have a natural propensity since it rules the zodiacal 9th house. Watch for a culmination of some sort or shift to a new phase in that part of your life. If your birthday is right around December 11 the Sun - Moon system will create an aspect pattern known as a Triangle of Potential with your natal Sun. This puts you in an excellent position for managing whatever it is in a manner which will be to your advantage. Given that the Sun is in Aquarius, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, neighbors, siblings and local travel, and Mercury, which rules such things zodiacally is there as well, this is an excellent time for you to take one of your ideas to the next level and express it in your 9th. Of course our beliefs evolve from our thoughts, as one possibility, but if you have been thinking of pursuing anything that resides in the 9th, this is an excellent time to start moving in that direction as well. However, take note of the fact that Mars is currently retrograde, which isn't exactly conducive to moving forward, and Saturn goes retrograde the same day as the Full Moon, another thing which tends to throw delays in your path. There is a purpose for retrograde planets, however, so don't think all is lost. Mars is in Virgo, another Mutable Sign, and your 10th house of career, reputation, public image and status. This, of course, indicates that moving forward in this part of your life isn't likely to happen for at least the first half of the year. On the positive side, it is a favorable time to assess exactly what is going on there. That is, if you care enough to give it some thought. Lots of times Mars RX brings complacency. If you've been pushing too hard in this part of your life you may discover that you have run out of gas and really don't give a flip anymore. In other words, your get up and go, got up and went. Maybe more than anything it's time to consider what is going on in this part of your life and whether a change is in order. Saturn going retrograde doesn't bode well for progress, either, though his placement in your 11th house has different implications. This is where your friends, group associations, networking and goals reside, particularly those goals which require the help of others to achieve. In other words, if one of your goals is to be a best-selling author, you can bet this isn't going to happen anytime soon without the help of numerous others. The good news is that Saturn is exalted in Libra which will allow his energy to express itself in a more positive way. This is an excellent time to assess how much time, money and energy you expend in this part of your life and whether some restructuring is called for. Saturn is opposing Jupiter who's in Taurus, your 6th house of work, health and pets. This can bring some luck your way with regard to your job, but it needs to be balanced with your goals or perhaps your interactions with your coworkers. Take a good, hard look at your job, your feelings towards it, whether it ties in favorably with your long-term career aspirations, and whether you're associating with the right people to get you where you want to be. Fellow Mutable Sign, Pisces, is your 4th house of home environment, cultural roots, memories and endings, and currently bubbling with energy. Venus is there for a few more days, after which she leaves the sign of her exaltation for Aries where she's in debility. In Pisces she can express the very best side of her nature, free of any materialistic inclinations. This bodes nicely for your homelife during this time. Neptune, ruler of Pisces, recently entered there as well. That placement will be in force for a long time, like until March 2025. Neptune and Pisces are great for inspiration, escaping, enlightenment, merging with the collective consciousness, and dreams but requires considerable monitoring so these more positive influences don't drift toward delusion, illusion, deception, or confusion. You've probably heard of these tanks where you can float around in what amounts to total sensory deprivation which is conducive to deep meditation. Used to excess, it can result in hallucinations. That is the other side of Neptune as well as a sense of idealism which prevents full enjoyment of reality, flawed though it may be. It's great to be able to escape the world's pressures at home, but don't let this influence blind you to things which need to be addressed. The New Moon on February 21 is in Pisces, your aforementioned 4th house of home environment and such. Watch for something new to come up in that part of your life or, better yet, use this energy to get something started, even if it's only doing some daydreaming of what you'd do if you won a major home makeover. Jupiter is still in your 6th house of work and conversing with retrograde Saturn with regard to groups, friends or goals. He is also moving into a trine with Pluto, however, who's in your 2nd house of finances, possessions, needs and pleasures. Pluto, the zodiacal roto-rooter, will be doing some major renovations in this part of your life over the next several years. If your finances aren't everything you'd like them to be this is the time to dig deep into why, get rid of old baggage and clean things up. You may also want to take a close look at what you consider your needs to be with regard to material possessions. If you've encumbered yourself with too many things which you really don't need, this is the time to clean house and simplify your life. For example, maybe your dream job doesn't pay that well but you hate the one you have now, except for that nice paycheck. However, to be truly happy, you may do better with a smaller house and a job your love. So if anything like that sounds familiar, now is the time to really give it serious consideration. |
