Lunations and Long Term Aspects Note that Venus goes retrograde this month on May 15 in fellow Mutable Sign, Gemini. If your birthday is within a day or so of September 17 the retrograde station degree squares your natal Sun which will make this retrograde period more relevant to you. This is your 10th house of career, reputation, public image and status so that is the place to look. Venus retrograde typically relates to those things you value as well as your relationships. This could be a time when you do some serious soul-searching with regard to your current career path. If there's anything in that part of your life about which you have any doubts, then deep considerations will be taking place subconsciously during this time. Venus retrograde takes you to the heart of the matter and strips away any superficialities. Remember Venus' dual nature, that when she's retrograde and becomes the morning star that she was then considered the warrior goddess by numerous civilizations. For example, if you're in a profession because it pays well but you actually hate the work now is when your inner core may rise from wherever you've suppressed it to let you know, loud and clear, that you're going in the wrong direction. Venus stations trining Saturn which ties your career and income together in one way or another. Of course this isn't rocket science since these two areas of your life do tend to affect one another. If changing jobs will impact your income in a negative way then restructuring your budget and spending habits are in order. Now is an excellent time to assess this part of your life and consider what will really make you happy. Typically spending so many hours of your life somewhere you hate at worst and find unsatisfying at best is not time well spent. Think about how much money you spend on stress relief to alleviate those frustrations and take it form there. The Full Moon this month is in Scorpio, your 3rd house of thought, ideas, neighbors and siblings, where you should watch for a culmination, ending or shift to a new phase. An opportunity lies with this lunation if your birthday is within a day or so of September 9th due to the fact your natal Sun forms an aspect pattern known as a Triangle of Potential with the lunation system comprising the Sun and Moon. The Sun is in Taurus, your 9th house of higher learning, legal matters, beliefs and expectations, religion, politics, other cultures, long-distance travel and relocation, bringing these matters into the mix as well. For example, if you are currently trying to balance something from each of these houses then you should be able to arrive at an appropriate answer such as whether or not to move a long distance from your current location. This could tie in with Venus retrograde if you're considering a major move related to your job where your heart really isn't in that line of work. Venus does not like it when you lie to yourself and will slap you upside the head accordingly during this time. Mercury, your sign ruler, is in Aries, your 8th house of transformations, death and regeneration, intense experiences, debt, and other people's money. This could bring news your way with regard to something that fits in this house which will result in a change of direction of some sort. Mercury is opposing Saturn in your 2nd house of finances, income, possessions, needs, comforts and pleasures so the implications are that this is going to affect your checkbook or credit card balance. This could indicate the breakdown of a major appliance or automobile which will have a major impact on your budget. Bear that in mind if you plan any discretionary spending this month. In other words, don't obligate a chunk of money somewhere else until the end of the month or so when you're certain no unhappy surprises are coming your way, which is quite likely given that Uranus, planet who rules such things, is also in Aries. In fact, Uranus is quincunx Mars in Virgo at this time, even more indicative of a change of direction. The New Moon on May 20 is also a Solar Eclipse, giving it substantially more punch. If your birthday is within a day or so of August 24 this eclipse squares your Sun and further reinforces the Venus retrograde implications noted above. An eclipse in your 10th is almost assured to affect your career or status in some way. First of all, don't believe everything you hear at this time, particularly as it pertains to your career or status. Remember that status is fairly all-encompassing, similar to what "status" means on Facebook. Anything that could appear in the public record, newspaper, involves a title or label, or affects your reputation could be affected. If you've been idling away your time with frivolous activities such as computer games or any other form of entertainment which is keeping you from making progress, whether it relates to an idea or simply spending time with extended family, this is an excellent time to rearrange your priorities and schedule accordingly. You are not typically foolish with such things and your stress level tends to be high because of all your self-imposed demands, but there may be a better and more productive way to achieve the same ends, so think about it. This is also a favorable time to rethink your investments and speculative activities. Pay attention to what your siblings and any close neighbors have to say in this regard as well as any ideas of your own which you may have been ignoring. |
