Lunations and Long-term Aspects The New Moon on November 13th is also a solar eclipse which will be visible in parts of northeastern Australia and the South Pacific, thus most of us will miss out on seeing it. This implies that those of you along the eclipse path may see stronger astrological effects. It occurs in Scorpio and is most likely to affect you is your birthday is right around June 12. Scorpio is your 6th house of work, health, service and pets so keep an eye on that part of your life for something to come about, not only immediately but in the months to come, though in some cases the effects of an eclipse have been known to actually happen before. I've been reading "The Yod Book" by Karen Hamaker-Zondag which I highly recommend if you have a yod or any unaspected planets in your natal chart. This has proven to be good timing for me to do these horoscopes given there are several of both involved in these eclipses. Unaspected planets can act as wildcards because they can do as they please in their resident sign without any influence or interference from other planets, giving them license to operate across their entire archetypal spectrum. This eclipse has three such planets which you might want to keep an eye on. First of all, Jupiter is in debility in your sign where he easily generates TMI, or too much information. If your birthday is right around June 4th he's conjunct your natal Sun. This could be an excellent time for personal expansion, but while he's unaspected you may also be perceived as over-confident or egotistical, so bear that in mind if you want to make a favorable impression on someone. Venus in dignity in fellow Air sign, Libra, your 5th house of ego definition, children, romance, entertainment and speculation is the next one where she is likely to be beneficial. Therefore watch for something good to come your way in this part of your life. Last but far from least is Mars in Sagittarius, your polar sign and 7th house of relationships including your significant other, close friends and relatives, business partners and professionals, and competitors. Mars infers action which could also manifest as action toward you or aggression. If your birthday is right around June 18 it's more likely to have an effect. Mars has been in your 7th house for a while, so you may have seen quite a bit of activity with those close to you, anyway, but it's likely to be somewhat unpredictable at this time. Mercury, your sign ruler, is retrograde (more on that below) and squaring Neptune in fellow Mutable Sign, Pisces, your 10th house of career, reputation, public image and status. This is an aspect that really smells like some form of deception or illusion which is under review. On the other hand, if you've found what you believe to be your dream career and someone close to you has objected to it, this may be when that person reconsiders with it ultimately coming out in your favor. These two planets are tied in with Saturn, which may have been working at structuring your work environment, or perhaps something related to service activities or even your health. You may find that you're working very hard these days, which would be common with this placement. The trine to Neptune is a favorable connection, though, and implies you're working hard toward achieving your dreams. Uranus comes into play, however, and hints at a sudden change in direction for one or more of your goals. This is not necessarily a bad thing, it could be a sudden chance to pursue what you want, but Mercury RX squaring Neptune throws a bit of a caution about chasing rainbows. Mercury goes retrograde on November 6, election day in the USA, which is highly likely to cause a complete fiasco like it did in 2000 when this happened in the race between Daddy Bush and Al Gore. Remember the usual Mercury RX advice to avoid buying anything electronic or mechanical during this time which lasts until November 25 when Mercury goes direct but the shadow period lasts until December 15. This certainly isn't good news for holiday shopping. At the least wait a few days after November 25, save your receipts and if it's a big ticket item consider that extended warranty. The retrograde starts in Sagittarius, implying it somehow involves a relationship, then backs into Scorpio, your 6th house of work and such so will probably have some effect there as well. The Full Moon on November 28 is a lunar eclipse, not surprising because they come in pairs. This one has Mercury and Neptune the unaspected planets, so at least they've gotten away from that square of potential deception. However, now they're renegades doing their own thing. Mercury may bring a deluge of information your way at work or perhaps even drive you to make everyone crazy by talking too much. Neptune in dignity in Pisces, your house of career and so forth, could bring inspiration, delusion, a complete lack of ambition, or something inbetween. This eclipse has two yods, an aspect pattern also known as a finger of God or, as I often refer to it, the flying fickle finger of fate, which, if you're old enough, you may remember from the old 60s show, "Laugh-in." Yods are unstable and largely unpredictable though they will probably relate someone to one of their three points. The first one has its eye, or focus, on Saturn and Venus in Scorpio, again your house of work and health. The most basic interpretation of these two would be responsibility toward love or money with numerous other possibilities as well. The yod's base comprises the Moon, which is close enough to Jupiter to feel some expansion effects, and Uranus in Aries, your 11th house of friends, goals, networking and groups. One possibility is a friend or other connection unexpectedly provides you with an opportunity related to work. The other yod involves many of the same planets which will have the same interpretation as above. The eye of this one, however, is the Moon, giving it an emotional flavor. It shares Saturn and Venus with the other yod but has incorporated a partile (same degree) conjunction between Mars and Pluto in Capricorn as the other half of the base. Capricorn is your 8th house of transformations, debt, sex, death and rebirth, shared resources, and intense experiences. Mars in the 8th always deserves a bit of caution because it can predispose you to accidents. With Pluto these two bespeak directed power and control. One possibility with this one is a big fat promotion to a management position but it could just as easily be the opposite, so don't go out just yet and buy that new Mercedes. Remember as well that the influences of eclipses can last much longer than the typical lunation so these effects could come about a few months from now, long after you've forgotten this horoscope. |
