Virgo Horoscope

This is another interesting month astrologically speaking with not only the two usual lunations but another significant planetary configuration that is definitely a Grand Square and another Grand Sextile if you use medieval orbs, which tend to be quite generous. That Grand Water Trine is barely hanging in there for the New Moon on August 6. It comprises your 3rd, 7th and 11th houses which are often dubbed the "social houses" as they all have relationship implications. The 3rd includes not only your thoughts and ideas but also your siblings, neighbors and local travel; the 7th is close relationships such as your significant other, business partners, business professionals, cliental and competitors; and the 11th is friends, group associations, networking as well as goals, hopes and wishes which typically involve matters you cannot accomplish entirely on your own. Thus, there has been an emotional flow within these parts of your life for over a month. You may want to take a moment to think about the past month and what may have occurred in those areas that have emotional overtones. If nothing comes to mind offhand, here are a few more hints.

Saturn is in Scorpio, your 3rd house which includes siblings and neighbors. He was retrograde for several months and went direct in July. This is typically a call for restructuring something with Saturn the natural ruler of discipline, responsibility, boundaries and hard lessons. Neptune is in Pisces, the sign he rules and thus in dignity, in your 7th house of close relationships. This transit is going to last for many years though you may not notice it particularly unless he is aspecting a key point or planet in one of your charts. Neptune is dreamy, imaginative, and compassionate but can also be delusional, unrealistic and idealistic. You may view someone in your life through the proverbial rose-colored glasses during this transit or perhaps expect too much. Jupiter is in Cancer, sign of his exaltation, where he functions at top efficiency. This is your 11th house of friends and groups. He tends to have an expansive effect and is philosophical by nature. Of course when planets aspect each other there is an energy exchange so these influences will flow throughout your social houses. Perhaps you are more tolerant and understanding of the people in your life. Perhaps you are going to change some of your priorities with regard to whom you spend the most time with. Or maybe you've decided to get out a little more, socialize, and meet new people. There is likely to have been a feeling of connection with others and a new level of emotional satisfaction from your various interactions.

Grand Trines as well as trines in general carry an easy, harmonious flow of energy that is easy to miss because it feels so comfortable. You may notice it more when it's gone, which will be around the middle of the month. Meanwhile give it some thought so you familiarize yourself with how it feels. These are all outer planets which will be in their respective signs for a while even though the aspects diminish. Actually, Saturn and Neptune will be in trine for a bit longer so making a few changes to one or more relationship is still favored. By the way, if your birthday is right around August 28 Neptune is opposite your natal Sun and will be more noticeable. Neptune is also known for making things disappear so it's possible someone who has been important in your life may fade away for one reason or another.

The New Moon on August 6th is in nextdoor neighboring sign, Leo, your 12th house of spirituality, dreams, visions, enlightenment, seclusion, confinement, institutions, collective consciousness, subconscious, hidden enemies and self-undoing which implies something new in this part of your life. While the Sun transits this house it's a favorable time to ponder this part of your life, find some time to yourself, or meditate. The lunation trines Uranus in Aries, your 8th house of transformations, sex, death and rebirth, debt, shared resources, things you suppress and intense experiences. Uranus is the planet that rules innovation, brilliant flashes of insight, freedom, uniqueness and technology. If your birthday is right around September 5 - 7, you may encounter a life-changing brainstorm that will take some effort on your part to pursue but is probably well worth it.

There's a T-square out there that includes not only Uranus but also Pluto and Jupiter. Pluto is hanging out in your 5th house of ego definition, creativity, children, romance, entertainment and speculation which will bring about numerous transformational changes in this part of your life. Pluto encourages you to get rid of anything you no longer need which as a Virgo can manifest as a storm of cleaning frenzies. It's also a time to look closely at how you see and express yourself, contemplate your relationship with your children or romantic interests, how you enjoy yourself and so forth. The opposition between Pluto and Jupiter in your 11th house of friends suggests the need for balance in this area. Expansion of your involvement with groups or new goals and aspirations may require some changes to how you enjoy yourself or interact with your children with the result more than superficial but rather in the transformational range, which can come about quickly or seemingly out the blue. There will be a certain level of tension involved but it is tension that motivates you. You already are more likely to have a strong work ethic than numerous others so this can be a nudge you recognize and respond to naturally.

Venus is in your sign and conjunct your natal Sun if your birthday is September 11. Venus in your 1st house is excellent for being seen in a positive light. It can make people more receptive to you and even improve your physical appearance. She is sextile Mars in your house of goals which is excellent for getting others onboard to help. Mercury, your sign ruler, is in Cancer, your house of groups and goals, so ideas are likely to flow in this venue, particularly as they relate to group projects and activities.

The Full Moon on August 20 is in Aquarius, your 6th house of work, service, health and pets. And you're probably thinking that sounds familiar, which is true, since the Full Moon in July was also in Aquarius, which doesn't happen that often. The T-square described above is still in effect but the Grand Water Trine is gone. Venus, however, has moved into your 2nd house of finances, possessions, income, needs and pleasures and is in Libra, sign she rules, so she's in good shape. She is semisextile Saturn and quincunx Neptune, creating another closed loop aspect with these two which are still in trine. This suggests thoughts about money and a possible change of direction. The 2nd house also comprises needs and pleasures, however, so this could have romantic implications as well. Or it could even relate to both, if you meet someone who has a significant impact on your wallet, one way or the other. The Sun and Mercury are in your 12th house so inspiration is favored, particularly as it relates to friends and taking action on goals or group activities.

On August 25 there's another somewhat sloppy Grand Sextile, especially using Virgo standards of precision. As noted last month, having all that energy reverberating through the zodiac is likely to stir up something. The Cardinal Grand Square/Cross is probably most notable along with some partile oppositions. The Grand Square comprises Venus, Pluto, Uranus and Jupiter who are in your 2nd, 5th, 8th and 11th houses, respectively. Squares are all about tension and can also indicate a crisis. Financial or income choices, speculation or perhaps entertainment, debt and shared resources as well as groups and goals are all likely to be tied together in some way. Perhaps your group activities are too costly or something is going to come along you really want to do but money is an issue. Maybe you have the proverbial champagne taste on a beer budget. The Sun and Mercury are both in your sign and on your natal Sun if your birthday is right around August 26. These two are opposing Neptune in your house of relationships which throws a caution flag with regard to perhaps being too idealistic or expecting too much from someone close to you. Uranus and Venus are in opposition as well and suggesting the need for balance either financially or with regard to your wants and needs. For example, perhaps you're considering a major purchase that is a step higher than you can really afford. Pluto and Jupiter are also opposing each other which suggests the need to eliminate something, which could be anything from an ego trip to spending too much on entertainment or hobbies, in order to pursue your goals or group activities. Oppositions typically call for balance, so use that for the keyword in figuring out how this applies to you.

There are two mystic rectangles, an aspect pattern that often indicates an either/or situation where you cannot have your cake and eat it, too. Mutually exclusive choices are common and will be entangles within the context of everything already covered. There are likely to be opportunities but you'll only be able to pursue one. For example, if you're offered two different jobs there will be pros and cons for each but you'll need to select one or if you're trying to decide where to go on vacation you're also usually going to have to choose one over the other. Practicality versus fantasy is likely to be involved.
