If there's something important you want or need to get done consider yourself warned that you should do so before either Mercury or your sign ruler, Saturn, go retrograde on the 23rd and 18th, respectively.  Mercury will be doing the backstroke in Pisces, sign of his debility and fall, which is bound to be less than enchanting for most of us.  Pisces is your 3rd house of thought, ideas, siblings and neighbors which is already somewhat messed up by Neptune's presence so it's highly likely that the term "brain fog" will acquire a whole new meaning during that time.  Of course the usual admonitions to avoid buying anything electronic or mechanical stand as well.  Saturn is in Scorpio, your 11th house of friends, organizations, networking, goals and group activities.  When Saturn is retrograde expect delays and progress at a snail's pace.  There is an upside to every aspect, however, if you know how to use it correctly.  When Saturn is RX he tends to work on something that needs to be restructured which in this case will be some matter that resides in your 11th house, such as your goals.  Thus, if you are making no progress whatsoever on your goals, which is more than likely, rather than fight against it consider what really needs to be changed.    If your birthday is right around January 2 there will an opportunity associated with this time so watch for it.

The New Moon on February 10 is in Aquarius, your 2nd house of income, possessions, needs, comforts and pleasures.  Venus is in your 2nd house where she is accidentally dignified so that is in your favor as well plus a positive influence from Jupiter in your house of work, health, service and pets, making it possible you could get a raise or some other work-related benefit.  This is an excellent time to start a new endeavor in that part of your life or perhaps simply take a break.  Do so early, however, given that once those retrograde periods noted above kick in it could be an exercise in futility.  However, Mercury RX is a good time for rethinking, reconsidering and re-planning, so it can be okay to pursue those types of activities while you're lounging on a beach somewhere, literally or figuratively.  Nonetheless, Mercury does not operate very well in Pisces at best, so even though there is the potential for genuine inspiration, I wouldn't count on it.  Daydreaming and such is fine, but serious, Cappy-style planning may not go too well. 

Pluto is currently grinding away on your natal Sun if your birthday is right around January 1st.  This can be a difficult and grueling period, particularly if you need to rid yourself of anything in your life that is no longer serving you.  There seems to be a general theme of authenticity floating around out there, so this transit will be assisting with that.  Any burdens will feel heavier and the world could appear rather dark but ultimately the final result is liberating.  By the time it's over, you will probably be a different person in an entirely different place, perhaps literally.  Significant life changes are very likely.  Above all else be honest with yourself and remember that Pluto is also about healing by ridding yourself of unhealthy situations of all varieties.  The more you need to ditch, the more difficult it can be.  Having gone through this transit a few years ago I have found that things are much improved now and that Pluto can be a great motivator, especially when he hooks up with other planets in favorable aspect.  I have gotten more done under Pluto transits than any other, so take heart.

There may be a lot of confusion on the job that could also take the form of simply too much going on at once.  Misunderstandings with neighbors or siblings are more likely than usual but during Mercury retrograde it's possible you may be straighten them out as well as any lingering from the past.  If your birthday is right around January 12 keep your eyes open for a significant opportunity to make a major life change.  Sudden changes at home or perhaps simply a new start, possibly a big one, is possible, but you may miss it if you're really affected by the brain fog mentioned earlier.  Being indecisive could prevent you from taking positive action so be sure to take control of what you want to do and put the necessary steps in place to go after it.

The Full Moon on February 25 is in Virgo, your 9th house of higher learning, other cultures, foreign and long-distance travel, legal matters, beliefs and expectations, politics, religion, and philosophy of life bringing a culmination or perhaps new phase to something in this part of your life.  By this time the Sun has moved into Pisces as well with Venus only a sneeze away so at some point half the planets used in modern astrology will be in that sign along with Chiron, the wounded healer.  As noted earlier, this is all occurring in your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings and neighbors.  The Full Moon system creates a T-square with Jupiter at the apex in your house of work which suggests that more confusion is likely though hopefully some of it will also manifest as inspiration and enlightenment.  It's likely that things will be quite busy which isn't very compatible with times when it's difficult to concentrate.

Saturn, your sign ruler, and Pluto are in mutual reception (transiting the sign the other rules) and also in partile (same degree) sextile which will be a powerful influence.  Saturn is in Scorpio, your 11th house as noted earlier and by this time retrograde, which could dampen that energy somewhat.  Nonetheless, the can be very useful for reworking your goals, matters associated with friends or organizations and any networking activities.  You may find that your general outlook has changed lately and the process of change may feel as if you're stuck.  In reality things are shifting and when you get to the other side you may have an entirely different opinion or attitude about something than you did before and ultimately change directions in a potentially sudden or disruptive way.
