Well, folks, in spite of a plethora of ominous predictions which many of you Aries types may have found particularly challenging in a good way or perhaps intriguing as opposed to frightening, we've made it to 2013.  Heaven help those who thought this year would never come and maxed out their credit cards.  Just goes to show you can't trust a doomsday prediction from those who couldn't avoid their own demise.  Not to say disasters won't strike, as they surely will, only that the Universe is rather subtle about forewarning us pitiful humans.  Astrology will always reflect such things but typically only after-the-fact since there is no single indicator of such events.  However, as noted last month, the chart for 12/21/2012 did not look sufficiently ominous to indicate global annihilation.

The New Moon this month is on January 11 in Capricorn, your 10th house of career, reputation, public image and status.  If your birthday is right around April 11 this lunation will square your natal Sun which suggests some challenges in this part of your life.  Capricorn is rather loaded with planets at this time, bringing plenty of energy to this venue with suggestions of news of all sorts including that which was previously covered up as well.  Money issues are likely as well which could take you by surprise.  This is especially likely for those of you born right around March 25 who have Uranus sitting on your natal Sun.  Expect the unexpected just about everywhere though much is likely to be favorable.  Ideas will be a dime a dozen so be sure to write them down for later pursuit.  If you're thinking about changing jobs this may be the time to do so.  Remember it's not all about money and if you think you'd be happier in a less lucrative profession now may be the time to do something about it.  Neighbors and siblings are particularly good sources for ideas and leads and are also likely to be the source of some of those surprises.  Some are likely to contain an opportunity so give them adequate thought before dismissing any of them.

With Saturn transiting Scorpio, your 8th house of sex, death, shared resources, debt and other people's money it may seem as if such matters are moving at the speed of rush hour traffic.  This is a time for organizing this part of your life, instilling more discipline to your spending habits and making sure certain others are jeopardizing your financial well-being.  With Mars, your sign ruler, in Aquarius, your house of friends, goals, networking and groups, it's possible that activities in this area may conflict with these efforts.  Your best bet is to look for hidden resources you may have forgotten about or didn't realize were there.  Use your imagination, positive thinking and visualizing techniques to focus on what you want to bring into your life for best results.

Those of you born right around March 30 should be aware that Pluto is squaring your natal Sun which may be forcing a complete career change or something else in the status department.  This could be something you've known for a while but been resisting, which will be mostly futile if Pluto has other plans.  Remember that Pluto is about eliminating things you no longer need, general purging and ultimately healing and rebirth.  If you need to clean up your act in any way, this can be helpful albeit a bit uncomfortable to do so.

The Full Moon on January 26th is in fellow Fire Sign, Leo, your 5th house of children, romance, entertainment, ego definition and speculation.  If your birthday is right around March 28 this has the potential to bring something favorable your way.  One possibility is a friend introducing you to a special someone or a friend becoming a love interest.  Speculative goals could be attained as well or shift to a new level.  There's a lot of talk out there these days about a financial cliff but this is a favorable connection which may steer you toward benefiting from whatever is going on.  This is likely to be unexpected or even disruptive in some manner but ultimately a good thing.  Brainstorming with friends is favored as well where innovative ideas could surface.  The emphasis is on group activities and goals which can help promote what you want to accomplish as long as you don't get too carried away in which case it could have the opposite effect.  In other words if one of your friends tries to talk you into taking an exotic vacation that you know you can't afford, you'll do well to resist the temptation.  Getting to the bottom of your financial habits is favored as long as you can control any impulsive spending, even if the bargains this month seem too good to let pass.  Innovative ideas are favored as well as creative and artistic endeavors which your friends and connections can help promote.  Give such things serious thought for their income potential.
