Here we are in 2013 in spite of all those apocalyptic predictions that claimed we'd all be wiped off the face of the Earth or subject to some other catastrophe.  This is not to say such events won't happen since they probably will, sooner or later, but obsessing on them certainly doesn't help. Like they say, worry is a negative form of creativity which is best avoided.  Preparing for the worst while hoping for the best is usually your best bet.  Astrology will typically indicate when something ominous is coming though predictions are difficult because there are so many possible outcomes.  However, the chart for 12/21/2012 was definitely not bad enough to indicate global annihilation.  The Universe is rather subtle as far as the future is concerned and of course free will plays a huge role.  Looking at the astrology catastrophes in retrospect, which pf course has the benefit of 20:20 hindsight, always shows the event, whatever it may be, but being able to see it coming is another matter.  Nonetheless, when all of us astrologers head for bunkers in the Rocky Mountains, then you should definitely start to worry.

The New Moon on January 11 is in your polar sign, Capricorn, and 7th house of relationships.  This includes not only your significant other but business partners, close friends and relatives, business professionals and cliental if you're in business for yourself.  If your birthday is right around July 14 you are most likely something come of it, such as someone new coming into your life in one of these categories.  There are numerous planets and thus a lot of energy in this sign at this time so relationship issues are likely to be coming at you in a variety of ways.  This could include such things as more phones calls than usual, unexpected blasts from the past, or, if you're in the market for one, a new love interest.  It's also a favorable time to revitalize an existing relationship or examine your beliefs and expectations of those you love.  Like your namesake, the crab, you are soft on the inside but sometimes present a hard shell to protect yourself.  Your emotions run deep and wax and wane like your sign ruler, the Moon.  Bear in mind that such emotions are often much less intense for those around you, meaning that lack of interest or display of emotions by some individuals may simply be how they're programmed astrologically and not intended to be hurtful.

Uranus is squaring your natal Sun if your birthday is right around June 26 which could bring some disruptions or surprises your way with regard to your career, public image of status.  Sudden change or unexpected events are likely.  Take a philosophical approach to them and consider if perhaps at the subconscious level you attracted them.  With Saturn in fellow Water Sign, Scorpio, your 5th house of ego definition, children, romance, entertainment and speculation, you may find this part of your life filled with responsibilities and the need for additional organization to keep things running smoothly.  Learning from the past or reinventing yourself is implied as well.  A note of caution that Mars is in your 8th house which can predispose you to accidents so don't take any unnecessary chances, be careful around sharp objects and fires, and so forth.  Keep a close eye on your children, if you have any, as well, and no matter how much fun you may be having, don't take any foolish risks.

The Full Moon on January 26 is in nextdoor neighboring sign, Leo, your 2nd house of income, possessions, finances, needs and pleasures.  This could bring a new phase to this part of your life which could emphasize shared resources, debt or perhaps involve an inheritance.  How and where you spend your money and how well this is working out may come to your attention.  There are numerous opportunities out there if you're watching for them.  Your subconscious is busily working at them with the possibility that they will surface as an "Aha!" moment.  If your beliefs or expectations have been too idealistic you may have to confront them and make some changes, but this could open the way for numerous benefits.  Beneficial change at a deep but subtle level is possible as the result of something coming out of the blue.  Transformation of a relationship is favored, perhaps as you see yourself in a different way and make a few changes in the ground rules.  If you tend to be "too nice" and let people walk on you, this is your chance to take the helm and put up the necessary boundaries.  With Pluto in your 7th house of relationships one possibility for the coming years is that various people will exit from your life and your relationship with others will undergo significant changes.  Resolving old matters from the past is also favored, particularly as you see yourself in ways you haven't before which is all part of the maturation process, regardless of age.
