The New Moon on July 8 is only one of the important astrological events this month but it's a good place to start, especially since it occurs in your sign, which the Moon rules. If your birthday right around that time, say within a day or so, then this New Moon is likely to also be a part of your solar return and be with you for the entire year. Solar returns are important events which determine what the coming year will be like based on the configuration of the planets when the Sun returns to its natal position. My most popular report is the Solar Return and also my personal favorite for what to expect. In essence a solar return is like a natal chart which remains in effect for a year. So let's see what's going on with that New Moon, remembering that it is likely to bring something new into your life.

Unexpected changes in your status have the potential to bring something good your way in the form of money, possessions or perhaps simply some much needed rest. Your life has probably been hectic lately and is going to remain such for a while as long as Uranus is in your 10th house of career, public image, reputation and status. His square to Pluto will wax and wane over the coming year but won't be gone until after 2015 so you may as well accept that though fortunately the next exact square won't be until November. Pluto is opposing your Sun if your birthday is right around July 2. This is likely to have a transformational effect on your closest relationships and may not be easy. Nonetheless it has an important function and can help you establish the type of relationships you want and need and get rid of any that you don't. You are generally soft-hearted and caring but you have your limits and can't take care of the entire world, as much as you'd like to try. Upsets in career or status are likely to help you figure out who is expendable and who isn't.

There's a Grand Water Trine out there, either again or still, depending on your point of view. The ones in June weren't of long duration because the third component was either Venus, Mercury or the Sun, all of which are fast-moving and thus don't hang in there very long. This one is new and different because it involves Jupiter, another outer planet teamed up with Saturn and Neptune. These big boys drive the themes of your life while the inner planets are more influential in daily events and situations. This gives it an entire different vibration. Furthermore, Jupiter is in your Sign where he is exalted, allowing his expansive influence to operate in a mostly boundless manner.

Jupiter also tends to bring luck, optimism and confidence. Another component in this aspect pattern is Saturn in Scorpio, your 5th house of ego definition, children, romance, creativity, self-expression, speculation and entertainment. Saturn has just come out of retrograde and is ready to get down to business restructuring something in this part of your life. With Jupiter in your 1st house of personality and this going on in your house of ego, it looks as if you're on the right track. The final planet in this triad is Neptune in Pisces, your 9th house of beliefs, expectations, philosophy of life, higher learning, legal matters, other cultures, religion, politics, long-distance travel and relocation. Neptune rules Pisces and is thus in dignity, also allowing him to function at full capacity. The only downside to this placement is the possibility of too much idealism and compassion but the spiritual insights and inspiration will constitute major factors in who you are evolving to become. You may at this time not know which way to turn or what to do in this regard but taking action is not what is intended just yet.

This configuration will be at its strongest capacity on July 17 (July 18 on the other side of the International Dateline or IDL) when all three planets are in the same degree of their respective signs. Those of you born right around June 26 are most likely to feel it the strongest. Regardless of when you were born, spend some time that day pondering who you are and where you're going. Mercury is retrograde at that time which is a time to rewrite, revise, reconsider and review your current goals. Mercury rules your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and local travel which may be somewhat honked up during this time. Just focus on rethinking and redoing and don't try to pursue something new at this time. There could be some power struggles with people close to you or you may need to let go of them, which will become apparent during this transit.

The Full Moon on July 22 is just barely into Aquarius, your 8th house of transformations, sex, death and rebirth, debt, shared resources, things your suppress and intense experiences. A Full Moon usually brings an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase. As the Sun enters Leo about this same time you will find an emphasis on your 2nd house which includes income, possessions, finances, needs and pleasures which could present a bit of a challenge at this time and interfere with some of your plans. The Grand Trine is still in effect with Mars teamed up with Jupiter and pushing for action. By now Mercury is direct so this could work but there is going to probably be a lot of challenges to deal with first. Disruptions continue along with those power struggles or need to transform one or more relationship. Balancing your thoughts and ideas between practicality and their idealistic counterpart is necessary but probably not easy. The main thing to remember is that you live in the real world where the ideal seldom expresses itself for long.

July 29 (July 30 for those on the other side of the IDL) brings a rare and interesting planetary configuration known as a Grand Sextile. Even if you're not an astrologer I recommend you look at the chart, which is going to give you some idea of the energy exchange operating at that time. As you can see it resembles the facets of a cut gemstone, the planets figuratively holding hands in the cosmic rendition of Kumbaya. The Grand Water Trine is still there and now joined by a Grand Earth Trine. This isn't going to last very long before the Moon is one component and moves quickly. The Moon is nearly in her exact last quarter phase, however, which can bring about a conflict between your head and heart. And this isn't particularly surprising given what this conglomeration really comprises. Sextile typically bring an opportunity but this could be too much of a good thing. It does favor those who have primarily Earth and Water signs dominating their natal chart, which is good for you Crabs.

There's another aspect pattern embedded in there as well known as a Mystic Rectangle, in fact three of them. This could possibly help determine exactly what could come from this alignment of sorts. A Mystic Rectangle often denotes having to choose between two mutually exclusive opportunities. With this many of them it could be like going to an elegant buffet with all your favorite foods but being limited to a plate the size of a saucer you are only allowed to load up once. Oppositions, of which there are three, also, may help identify what to watch for which is likely to be a delicate balancing act. First of all, expect to have negotiations with people you know well along with the potential for some power struggles. Another possibility is the need to find middle ground as far as your group interactions and ego are concerned. Be sure you know where one ends and the other begins if you are heavily involved with friends or groups. Finally, recognize reality and fantasy for what they are, finding a healthy balance between them. If nothing else, take some time to contemplate what you're feeling that day and see how the energy manifests for you and what message it may convey.
