Virgo Horoscope

This is a busy month astrologically speaking which is likely to have a similar effect on us all, making it filled with all sorts of activities, particularly on the emotionally plane. This is largely due to the Grand Water Trine in effect which has had a variety of players over the last month or so. Mercury, your sign ruler, Venus and the Sun have all taken their respective turns as the third component of this astrological aspect pattern but each of them moves relatively quickly so the effects only last a few days. However, Jupiter has now moved into Cancer and is taking over that position and will last a bit longer than the others. Furthermore, the outer planets through their longer-lasting effects define the themes of our lives which the inner planets execute through our daily activities. Thus, this Grand Water Trine comprises Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune, all relatively slow movers with a lot of influence. There will also be a relatively rare aspect pattern known as a Grand Sextile this month which I'll get to later. For now let's take a look at the upcoming New Moon on July 8 which occurs in Cancer, your 11th house of friends, groups, organizations, networking, goals, hopes and wishes.

If your birthday is right around September 9 this lunation will sextile your natal Sun and perhaps bring a new opportunity your way to make a new friend, get involved in a new group or perhaps define a new goal. Your sign ruler, Mercury, is retrograde, however, which is likely to slow things down a bit. In this house the implications are to revisit what is going on in this part of your life and reconsider how much time and energy it consumes. It's a bit contradictory that a New Moon, the usual initiator for something new, comes along in the same sign and house as Mercury RX but that can be reconciled as a new look at your situation. Mercury RX is an abysmal time to start a new endeavor but it's excellent for revising, editing, repairing, re-planning, performing maintenance and so forth. This is a time to look at the people you hang out with and consider whether or not their association is good for you. Also examine your goals for the need for revision or a new direction.

Uranus and Pluto are still squared off and form a somewhat loose but viable T-square with the New Moon. Uranus is in your 8th house of transformations, sex, death and rebirth, debt, shared resources, intense experiences and things you repress or hide. As the planet of surprises, sudden events, rebellion and breakthroughs you may encounter a variety of experiences during this time that have a strong and lasting impact. Pluto in fellow Earth sign, Capricorn, is in your 5th house of ego definition, creativity, children, romance, speculation and entertainment. Pluto is transformational by nature which reinforces Uranus' impact and further facilitates significant changes in how you see yourself. This tied in with the New Moon can motivate a fresh assessment of your goals and group interactions as they apply to the new person you're rapidly becoming.

Jupiter has recently entered this sign and is bringing not only his expansive nature to bear in this area but also bringing in the energy from that Grand Water Trine. The other two comprise Saturn in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces. Saturn has recently come out of retrograde and gone direct which has a message in and of itself. When he's retrograde he typically stirs things up in your subconscious which relate to something that needs to be restructured. Once he goes direct whatever that happens to be percolates up to your conscious mind so you can do something about it. Scorpio represents your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings and neighbors as well as local travel, such as your daily commute so it's likely to relate to something in that area. Neptune in your polar sign, Pisces, is in the sign he rules and thus in dignity so he can operate to his full potential. Neptune is inspirational, enlightening, idealistic, compassionate and inclusive with these influences operating in your 7th house of relationships. This includes your significant other, close friends and relatives, business partners and professionals, cliental, competitors and open enemies. The implications are that you will be inclined to display those characteristics to those individuals and likewise attract people with those traits.

While operating in the Grand Water Trine the energy will flow between them in an easy, harmonious way. This is likely to result in group endeavors that involve shared goals, ideals and efforts toward building the end result with a certain degree of passion. When all the planets in the Grand Trine are in the same degree of their respective signs, which occurs on July 17 (July 18 for those of you on the other side of the International Dateline or IDL), you might want to take a few moments to ponder these activities and see where they stand. You should also consider whether you are getting lost in the crowd, whether your personal goals are being sacrificed for the sake of others and if you might want to make a few adjustments. While you don't want to impose your will and control on others, at the same time you don't want them to control you, either. Ponder your individuality, your specific needs and make any necessary change. This will be reinforced by Venus in your 12th house which includes the subconscious, inspiration and enlightenment as well as hidden enemies and self-undoing. Pay attention to any brainstorms that occur around this time, particularly as they relate to your finances and/or belief system generally. You could find yourself suddenly setting off in a different direction.

The Full Moon on July 22 is in Aquarius, your 6th house of work, health, service and pets. It also includes people you hire such as service people including your hair dresser or barber, repairmen, yard maintenance, and so forth. Typically a Full Moon brings an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase so watch for one in this area. It won't necessarily be dramatic, it could be simply completing a project at work or wishing your doctor well in his new profession as he leaves the healthcare field for parts unknown. Nonetheless it's going to stir up a few things worth noting. This is a time to ponder whether or not you're in the right job and career where you can really shine. You have a variety of talents and abilities that others lack due to your flair for detail and critical thinking skills. If you are not valued for those traits then you might want to look elsewhere because there are numerous professions that love those traits. Venus has entered your 1st house which will have a very nice effect on your actual appearance as well as how receptive others are to your ideas. Just make sure you keep them realistic.

The Sun is transiting your 12th house, bringing emphasis to your subconscious and spirituality which can also help elevate anything lurking there to your conscious mind for attention. You may discover some conflicts related to your work goals, especially if they require a new approach. Remember that Saturn is now restructuring something related to your 3rd house whether it's your thought process itself or how you interact with your siblings or neighbors or even get to work. Your head and heart are trying to tell you something so listen up and act accordingly even though it will probably be a challenge to do so. Continue to ponder your individuality and how it fits into your group activities and whether you're getting sufficient benefit from the time and effort expended. Jupiter and Mars are conjunct at one tip of that Grand Trine which implies taking action on your goals, especially now that Mercury is no longer retrograde. Your sense of rebellion may be stirring things up a bit, especially if you don't agree with those around you and you may want to take control so it can be done "right." Just make sure you don't cut off your nose to spite your face, if you know what I mean. Breaking away from the crowd has pros and cons just as being lost in it does. Sort through the facts and your goals and act accordingly.

On July 29 (July 30 on the other side of the IDL) the Grand Sextile occurs, even though it will not last too long since one of the components is the fast-moving Moon. To get some idea of what is going on I suggest you take a look at this chart so you can see how the planets are distributed and interacting. It reminds me of the facets of a cut gemstone which is done to reflect light in a way that enhances its natural beauty. Sextiles typically bring an opportunity and in this case there are lots of them. Perhaps too many, actually. The Grand Water Trine is still there and now joined by a Grand Earth Trine. If your birthday is right around September 1st you'll be drawn into this energy as Venus conjoins your natal Sun. The general flavor of an Earth and Water trine will be that of emotional stability and security.

Another aspect pattern you may have to look a little harder for is one called a Mystic Rectangle, of which there are three. One way I see them is that they can represent two mutually exclusive opportunities, both good. This could be compared to going to an elegant buffet which has all your favorite foods but you have a plate the size of a saucer and can only fill it once. I see it as a very "either/or" type of energy. Oppositions, of which there are three, call for balance and negotiations. They are going to relate to reality versus fantasy; group goals versus wanting to take control; and your heartfelt beliefs versus new developing thought patterns. Getting your head and heart on the same page will be even more difficult since this occurs at the time of the last quarter phase of the Moon. Distinguishing between your conscious, learned beliefs and the truth buried within your subconscious will be a challenge but worth the effort. At any rate you might want to ponder what the energy feels like. Because of its rather short duration due to the involvement of the Moon you may want to do so at the time it's in effect which is 18:39 GMT which translates to 1:39 p.m. EDT, 12:39 p.m. CDT, 11:39 a.m. MDT and 10:39 a.m. PDT.
