The New Moon on May 9th is also a solar eclipse which occurs in fellow Earth Sign, Taurus, your 5th house of creativity, ego definition, children, romance, entertainment and speculation. It will be visible in a narrow path in the South Pacific and Northern Australia which makes it even more powerful than eclipses already are. One reason for this is that the aspect referred to in astrology as the conjunction only means that the two celestial bodies are at the same degree of celestial longitude. In other words, one could be several degrees above or below the other, so they're not really conjunct in the sense most think of it. The distance above or below the celestial equator, which is simply the Earth's equator extended into space, is referred to as declination and also has meaning in astrology though it is not used as often. Thus, if two celestial bodies are the same distance above the equator they are considered parallel by declination or if they're on opposite sides but the same degree distance from the equator they are anti-parallel. So, when there's an eclipse what you have is the Sun and Moon not only at the same longitude but the same declination as well which greatly increases their power.

Mercury is conjunct the eclipse which, as ruler of your 6th house of work as well as your 9th house of beliefs, expectations, philosophy of life, politics, religion, long-distance travel, other cultures, higher learning and relocation suggests some considerations in these areas as well. Jupiter is tied into the eclipse by a semisextile which usually indicates an opportunity that is going to take some effort to achieve. Jupiter is in Gemini, your 6th house of work, service, health and pets, and rules your 12th house of spirituality, enlightenment, seclusion, confinement, institutions, hidden enemies, and self-undoing which brings them into the picture as well. What this boils down to is doing some serious soul searching relative to your work and how well it fulfills your sense of creativity and self-expression. With the eclipse in the 5th there are also implications for children and romance so depending on your circumstances they could be involved as well.

Mars is separating from a trine to Pluto which suggests taking action on one of those 5th house matters mentioned above which will have favorable effects on you as far as personal transformation is concerned. If your birthday is right around January 2 Pluto is sitting on your natal Sun, which may not be overly comfortable. Personal change, letting go of those things you no longer need, and making major changes can be a challenge. Pluto is being squared by Uranus in fellow cardinal sign, Aries, your 4th house of home environment, memories, cultural roots, endings and new beginnings, which suggests either resistance to breaking free or sudden change that brings a significant challenge in and of itself.

Your sign ruler, Saturn, is still retrograde in Scorpio, your 11th house of friends, groups, organizations, networking and goals which implies some rearranging in that part of your life. He is trining Neptune in Pisces, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and local travel which could bring some inspiration through either your own ponderings or perhaps through a sibling or neighbors which will help with restructuring your goals or social groups.

The Full Moon on May 24 is another lunar eclipse, this one visible in the USA unlike the one in April. It occurs in Sagittarius, your 12th house of angels and demons which has the potential for some serious enlightenment except the Sun and Moon's T-square with Neptune could cause a few problems. The Sun is highlighting your house of work, the Moon is being eclipsed in your subconscious which suggests ignoring your emotions which Cappies are often prone to do while Neptune is offering all sorts of inspiration as far as your thoughts are concerned. This could be subconscious resistance to following a dream related to work, delusions with regard to what to expect, or any number of things that involve those parts of your life and psyche.

The Uranus - Pluto square is partile, i.e. in the same degree, and thus quite powerful at this time. The effect will be the same as described above and probably isn't going to help that T-square situation with the eclipse and Neptune if there is resistance to change and transformation. This is not to say this is a boatload of trouble, but you are likely to be faced with some challenges, to say the least. If your birthday is right around January 15, Mars may be able to help you out as far as getting started in a new direction.

At any rate, there's a bunch of energy in Gemini, your house of work and service, so consider that when making any plans. Venus and Mercury are conjunct which brings a lot of mental energy that will probably involve your personal beliefs as well as your career in some way or another, too. This is a time to believe in yourself and your unique abilities and be willing to change directions. Expect to set some new goals, perhaps inspired ones, even though there will undoubtedly be challenges. It looks as if your work is cut out for you and headed in a new direction so be prepared to act accordingly.
