This month is likely to see quite a bit of action.  This, of course, is somewhat typical of when the Sun is in Aries which often brings events that are not necessarily pleasant.  With Aries' sign ruler, Mars, retrograde in the sign of his debility, i.e. Libra, there's no telling whether this will tone things down or not.  This is particularly worth watching in view of some of the astrological events coming our way.  For now, let me remind you that Mars opposes the Sun on April 8, which relates to his retrograde cycle as I think I described last month.  This is a time when you may discover you're heading in the wrong direction and come grinding to a screeching halt.  Mars Rx is a time to go back, back up, redo previous actions or ponder a new start.  If you've felt a lot of inertia or been more inclined than usual to procrastinate, this is likely the reason though Saturn retrograde would contribute as well.  Mars RX is in your 5th house which includes your ego definition, creativity, children, romance, entertainment and speculation so if you're having trouble getting motivated in that area, Mars is your culprit.  Meanwhile, if you're on the wrong track with something, this should help you see that's the case and help you determine which way you need to go instead.

On April 14 Pluto stations retrograde which is likely to pack quite a wallop which could have some serious reverberations.  When a planet stations it remains in the same zodiacal degree for an extended amount of time.  This happens to be 13 degrees Capricorn which is your 8th house of transformations, death and rebirth, sex, shared resources, things you suppress, intense experiences and debt.  If your birthday is right around June 4 this degree is quincunx your natal Sun.  Furthermore Pluto has been in that degree since February 26 and will be there until your birthday.  That is a long time so if you're feeling an energy blast this is likely the cause.  Pluto rules the zodiacal 8th house so is quite comfortable there even though it's not his home sign.  In other words, he rules the matters covered by that house which include the things noted above.  Pluto himself is all about power, control, corruption, secrets and eliminating things you no longer need.  A quincunx typically indicates the need for a change of direction, adjustment, to justify your position or sometimes a Catch-22.  They are typically unstable and unpredictable so it's hard to tell where it will go.  This sustained influence is definitely going to get your attention and will probably have some influence on Gemini types born other days as well.

This retrograde station has even more importance because that energy is going to be present for numerous other astrological events.  About eight hours after the station there is a Lunar Eclipse on April 15.  At this time the Cardinal Grand Cross is further emphasized as well as its duration since eclipses have more staying power than the usual garden variety lunation.  They sometimes manifest BEFORE the eclipse actually occurs and other times months after the fact.  The other planets in this configuration are Uranus in Aries, Jupiter in Cancer and Mars in Libra.  I've already covered two of them so let's look at Uranus and Jupiter.  Keep in mind that all these influences will be competing with one another and possibly exacerbating them if for no other reason than having too many things on your plate at once. 

Uranus has been in Aries for a while which has brought all sorts of surprises, explosions and various other events associated with this energy.  For this eclipse Mercury, your sign ruler, is conjunct Uranus in you 11th house of groups, organizations, friends, networking, goals, hopes and wishes.  This conjunction suggests surprising news from one of these venues which is going to increase the activity level even more.  With Uranus opposing Mars, this will bring about even more inertia and difficulty pursuing your creative endeavors, kids, romance or simply taking a break and enjoying yourself.  Jupiter is usually considered a benefic planet who brings good fortune but in my experience he's actually fairly neutral like Mercury and simply amplifies what he touches, good or bad.  And when he's in hard aspect with malefics that means their influence will be increased.  Jupiter is in the sign of his exaltation in Cancer which increases his power but in this case may bring questionable benefit.  He is in your 2nd house of income, possessions, comforts, needs, pleasures and your physical body.  While increases in this part of your life are usually a good thing, these may be inhibited or depend on juggling these surprises.  Now is an excellent time to consider those transformations Pluto is pushing for because they probably have a bearing on things. 

If there is anything Gemini is prone to do it's to have too many things going at any given time.  You excel at multiplexing but sometimes take on too much.  More than likely you've been pursuing a plethora of activities and now they're all coming home to roost at the same time.  Maybe Pluto's message is to eliminate those you don't need and focus on what you do.  The good news is that even though the Grand Cross is a somewhat ominous aspect pattern as far as Gemini is concerned it doesn't hit your chart in an overly harsh manner.  Mars RX is in fellow Air Sign, Libra, which trines Gemini.  Mars trines your natal Sun if your birthday is right around June 7.  Thus this lack of momentum is likely to be to your advantage.  The surprising news from Uranus in your house of goals is likely something you can benefit from.  So if you handle things properly you can come out of all this smelling like the proverbial rose.

The eclipse itself forms a Triangle of Potential with your Sun if your birthday is right around June 17.  This puts you in the driver's seat to direct this energy in the most beneficial manner.  Another aspect to exploit is a trine from Venus in Pisces, sign of her exaltation, to Jupiter.  Venus is in your 10th house of career, reputation, public image and status so expanding those benefits clearly look to be in your favor. 

The Grand Cross lines up with all four members in the same degree of their respective signs on April 22.  This is when its effects will be the strongest but those effects have also been influenced by the Pluto station and eclipse already described so this could even be anticlimactic.  Nonetheless, this is a day to watch the news.  It's interesting to note that the U.S. Sibly Chart has the USA's Sun at 13 degrees Cancer, right in the crosshairs of the Grand Cross.  And Vladimir Putin's Sun is at 13 degrees Libra conjunct Mars RX.  This certainly reflects sanctions placed on his actions by numerous others.  This is all the domain of mundane astrology and I'm not going to go into it any further but it will be very interesting to see what occurs this month.  At this time Venus is trining Saturn which can bring more benefits your way as far as your job is concerned.  Saturn retrograde is a time when ruminations about restructuring or rebuilding something are rumbling around in your subconscious.  Some positive attention careerwise can thus have some positive influences on your work and since Venus is also trining Jupiter, it could bring an income increase your way.

The Solar Eclipse on April 29 further emphasizes the Grand Cross.  The eclipse will be visible in parts of central Australia, down through Melbourne, out into the ocean, across the tip of Antarctica and then back into the ocean.  Venus and Saturn are still in trine so that benefit is still there.  Take that energy and run with it if you haven't already.  The eclipse occurs in Taurus, your 12th house of the subconscious, dreams, inspiration, visions, enlightenment. spirituality, other dimensions, confinement, seclusion, institutions, hidden enemies and self-undoing.  Mercury is there as well, promoting thought activity.  All three, the Sun, Moon and Mercury, are trining Pluto, providing impetus at the subconscious or inspirational level regarding how to handle what's going on around you.  Inspiration is further fueled by a sextile from Neptune, ruler of such things from the sign of his dignity which also rules these matters, so a huge dose of help is favored.  Put it to good use and this month which could be unsettling to many may be one of the most opportune times for you.
