Lunations and Long-term Aspects This month there are three lunations to address, the first of which is a New Moon/Solar Eclipse on July 1st. We had a solar and lunar eclipse last month as well but this one will be the last one until the November/December timeframe. Its path is a relatively small loop in the ocean directly south of Africa and north of Antarctica. The January and June solar eclipses traced across Europe and Asia, thus delivering their effects to areas below that geographically, which haven't been too difficult to identify if you pay any attention to the news. Thus, this one may be a bit more benign since it occurs in such an isolated area. However, it may affect you personally, particularly if it hits a sensitive area of your natal, progressed or solar return chart. This eclipse occurs in fellow Cardinal Sign, Cancer, your 10th House of career, reputation, status and public image. "Status" is a rather vague term in this context that includes a wide variety of things. Generally speaking it will comprise anything which can be found in the public record, appear in the newspaper or involve a title or label. Obtaining a license, graduating from school, getting married or divorced, becoming a parent or landowner for the first time and so forth are a few examples. Watch for something new to appear in this part of your life. Eclipses are more powerful that the typical lunation and more likely to bring an event or situation with more impact. Their effects can be delayed in their appearance or in some cases may manifest before the eclipse occurs! This eclipse comes with a Cardinal Grand Square, a rather difficult aspect pattern which will be most noticeable for those of you with birthdays right around October 3. Besides the Sun in your 10th house the possible effects of which are noted above, Saturn is in your sign and parked on your Natal Sun if your birthday is within a day of October 4th. Saturn is exalted in Libra which makes his effects slightly less stressful. Saturn is about responsibility, boundaries, restrictions, obligations and delays but particularly about structure. Such a transit will work on your sense of discipline and putting your life in order which is likely to include your career and such for the purposes of this eclipse. Pluto in Capricorn is holding down another corner of the Grand Square which comprises your 4th House of home environment, cultural roots and memories. Pluto can represent power trips (either yours or someone else's) but also includes dredging out those things which need to be eliminated. At the least, Pluto in this location will inspire a cleaning frenzy to get rid of anything you've been hauling around that needs to be ditched, whether of a material or psychological nature. In other words if you have old issues related to your childhood or upbringing, this transit will definitely be after you to get rid of your baggage. The square from Pluto to Saturn, however, implies this won't be easy. The square is separating so it should continue to be easier, but it's essential that you use your inborn sense of fairness to look at both sides of any issue and reserve judgment as well as be strong enough to admit fault as appropriate. The fourth corner of the Grand Square is occupied by Uranus in your polar sign, Aries, your house of close relationships which includes your significant other, close friends and relatives, business partners and competitors. Uranus is all about disruptions, surprises, unexpected events, explosions, breaking free and general disturbances. Clearly this can be quite difficult when it relates to those close to you, plus it's interacting with the other planets, all located in angular houses which are the cornerstones of your life (you, your home life, relationships and career). Uranus is opposing your natal Sun if your birthday is right around September 28 so it will be most noticeable for you. Thus, you are probably experiencing some difficult times but there are some favorable aspects. Your sign ruler, Venus, is in fellow Air Sign, Gemini, your 9th house of higher learning, legal matters, other cultures, long-distance travel, beliefs, expectations, religion, politics and philosophy of life. She is trining Neptune in Pisces, your 6th house of work, health and pets which can bring favorable things together from these two parts of your life. Neptune is dreamy and illusive but as such can't entirely be trusted because he can distort reality. However, at this time it implies that you may be able to do something with regard to identifying your dream job. For example, maybe your current employer will pay education benefits so you can get the training you need to do what you really want or perhaps you can transfer to a locale you'll like better. Mercury in your house of career is also aspecting Neptune and suggesting a change of course with your job. Pluto's trine to Jupiter in your 8th house of transformations, sex, death and regeneration, shared resources and debt is working with Pluto to help you get past any issues related to your homelife and the 8th, the first of which that comes to mind being debt, a problem that millions have these days. Mars is recommending a change of course with regard to your beliefs about such things and also encouraging you to do that restructuring which Saturn is working on. The Full Moon on July 15 is in fellow Cardinal Sign Capricorn and squares the Natal Sun for those of you born within a day one way or the other of October 16. Again, this is your 4th house of home environment and should bring a culmination or shift in phase with regard to this part of your life. Remember that this house includes memories so it could also signal the end of a certain period of your home life. For example, your kids may be leaving home for college or conversely starting school or perhaps you'll make a major move as implied by Mars in your house of relocation. Transformations with regard to your home life are still in effect as well as an opportunity of some description involving taking action on news or information which relates to one of those 9th house issues such as going back to school, moving, or expanding your mental and philosophical horizons. You current status may also be affected by financial issues as you make some personal changes. The New Moon on July 30 is in Leo, your 11th house of goals, networking, friends, organizations and group associations. This should bring something new your way in this part of your life. This lunation has numerous favorable aspects, a refreshing change from the previous two. Uranus in particular in your 7th house of relationships is trining the New Moon as well as Venus so whatever is developing with regard to your goals, friends or whatever should have a favorable effect on one or more close relationships or vice versa. A change of course is hinted at with regard to those home issues which also include an expansion of your view of something that's been bothering you for some time. You are likely to gather some insights that make a big difference in how you feel about something, so find some time for quiet contemplation so you can access this information. Favorable connections are still in force with regard to work and the 9th so if you haven't yet taken advantage of someone your job has to offer, now is the time to do so. |
