The New Moon on December 2 occurs in nextdoor neighboring sign, Sagittarius, your 12th house of angels and demons which includes spirituality, enlightenment, inspiration, seclusion, confinement, institutions, your subconscious, the collective consciousness, hidden enemies and self-undoing. Depending on what your holiday traditions happen to be, you can probably see how this lunation each year at this time may influence your reaction to it, whether it's of a highly spiritual nature or replete with self-flagellation. As a fellow Cappy, it explains a lot to me. Consider that that sign nextdoor is an aspect known as a semisextile away and that aspect typically indicates an irritation, friction or annoyance that can be turned into an opportunity with significant effort. If your birthday is right around January 1 this lunation will form such an aspect with your natal Sun so see what it does for you. Especially since that particular degree has been a rather hot one lately with Pluto currently parked on your natal Sun as well. Having been through that transit a few years ago myself I can tell you that it is life-changing. It has been said, I believe by Bil Tierney, in his book, "Alive and Well with Pluto" (which I recommend, by the way) that people seldom die of a Pluto transit but they may want to. It's a long and arduous transit that lasts for usually around three years and by the time you get on the other side of it your entire life will have changed in numerous ways, depending on which house your natal Sun is in.

That infamous Uranus-Pluto square is still in orb but slightly less intense, thank heavens. Nonetheless, Uranus in your 4th house of home environment, memories, cultural roots, endings and new beginnings has probably been noticeable. He is squaring your natal Sun if your birthday is right around December 30 and, I hate to tell you this, but he will station direct in that degree on the same day as the Full Moon, which may given you a bit of a jolt as well. But more on that later. As far as the New Moon is concerned, she's trining Uranus, which suggests a pleasant surprise revelation of some description, perhaps related to your childhood or current home situation, that may help you put a few things in proper perspective.

Venus is in your sign which bodes nicely for a variety of things, including your physical appearance. She is trining Mars in Virgo, your 9th house of beliefs, expectations, legal matters, higher learning, philosophy of life, religion, politics, other cultures, long-distance travel and relocation, which suggests taking action on a new belief or bit of knowledge. This could come by way of a friend or associate and may also bring an opportunity to pursue a goal or if you're really lucky, a hope or wish. Maybe Santa Claus will bring you what you want this year after all. Jupiter is retrograde in Cancer, your 7th house of close relationships which includes your significant other, business partners, close friends and relatives, competitors, and open enemies as well as business professionals whom you consult on a one-on-one basis. While retrograde he often focuses your attention on philosophical issues or those involving ethics in some way. His opposition with Venus suggests love or money may be involved but setting a new goal or calling in a favor may be able to put things together.

The Full Moon on December 17 is in Gemini, your 6th house of work, health, service, pets and daily activities, suggesting an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase of something in that part of your life. Working through that relationship issue is still favored and may involve important insights that will bring a few adjustments to your current attitude. This won't necessarily be without a few bumps but should be worth it. Unexpected conflicts between home and career or some other status item are possible as Mars enters your 10th house and opposes Uranus. Look for inspiration in how to deal with it which will bring a change of course to the career situation and hopefully rectify the situation.

As noted earlier, this same day Uranus stations direct in Aries, your 4th house of home environment and so forth. This could really stir things up on the homefront in some way, perhaps hailing old issues from the past along for the ride and affecting your status as well. Drawing heavily from inspiration is encouraged so you can understand the full meaning and message of the matter. Mercury and the Sun are still in Sagittarius, your 12th house of the subconscious, which probably need to be involved to get to the bottom of this perhaps complicated relationship issue.

Venus goes retrograde on December 21, the same day the Sun goes into Capricorn. Cardinal sign ingresses tend to set the tone for the coming season on a mundane level and this station of Venus is likely to play a significant role. Uranus, Pluto and Mars are in a somewhat sloppy T-square but they're all in Cardinal signs and thus messing with those same areas, i.e. home and career/status as well as transformational issues of a personal nature. Venus rules your 5th house of creativity, children, romance, entertainment and speculation so look for her switch to the goddess of war as opposed to the goddess of love to have a bearing on one of those areas as well as your career/status, also ruled by her. This is when she will go after what she wants, sometimes with a vengeance, as opposed to simply trying to attract it. The last time she was retrograde in your 1st house was December 2005/January 2006 so think back to what was going on in your life at that time for clues related to what this one may be about. Anything that wasn't resolved back then may reappear and demand attention now. Emotional transformations may bring about new goals and relate back to those relationship issues Jupiter is stirring up.
