The New Moon this month on December 2 is in Sagittarius, your 3rd house of thoughts, ideas, siblings, neighbors and local travel suggesting something new may be coming into this part of your life.  If your birthday is right around October 4 then this lunation sextiles your Natal Sun which implies an opportunity may be on its way which is likely to take you by surprise and hail from someone close to you.  You may hesitate to go for it, however, perhaps because of something from the past, but this can also be an opportunity to rid yourself of that as well.  As the season of giving and gratitude there is no better time to put the past behind you and move forward in a new and happier direction rather than clinging to old issues.

Your sign ruler, Venus, is in Capricorn, your 4th house of home environment, cultural roots, memories, endings and new beginnings and trining Mars who's in Virgo, your 12th house of inspiration, enlightenment, spirituality, your subconscious, the collective consciousness, institutions, self-undoing and hidden enemies.  These two planets likewise throw some positive vibes in that same direction of letting it go.  Granted, some situations and events require some time and you will probably get that later this month when Venus goes retrograde, but more on that later.  Meanwhile, taking action at the spiritual level to reprogram your subconscious is favored, including Mercury's sextile to Mars which can help you define what your needs really are and also carry the possibility for some financial benefits. 

Jupiter in your 10th house is typical an excellent placement for career expansion.  If your birthday is right around October 13 Jupiter is squaring your natal Sun which can give you a push in that direction.  However, Jupiter is opposing Venus placing your Sun in the middle and forming a T-square.  This type of aspect pattern often indicates you'll be caught in a situation that requires you to balance work and home in some way.  However, the 4th and 10th houses include more than that so any other mix and match is also possible.  The 10th includes your reputation, public image, career, and status, which can include anything that might appear in the newspaper, in the public record or even on Facebook.  It includes marriage, divorce, becoming a parent or grandparent, buying a business or property, etc.  Besides being your sign ruler, Venus also rules Taurus, your 8th house of transformations, shared resources, debt. sex, death and rebirth and things you suppress, so those things can come into play as well.  As you can see this stuff is never simple and putting together a "one size fits all" horoscope is this quite a crapshoot.  Nonetheless, the general feel of this is that you need to let go of something or someone.

The Full Moon on December 17 is in fellow Air Sign, Gemini, your 9th house of beliefs, expectations, philosophy of life, higher learning, politics, religion, other cultures, long-distance travel and relocation.  A Full Moon implies an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase so this also holds a hint or two of letting a previous belief or attitude go or evolve.  By this time Mars has moved into your sign and will be on your Natal Sun if your birthday is right around September 27.  A change of course is possible that could involve something related to your work, health, service or pets.  This could be anything from deception, a misunderstanding or even more positive, such as insights or inspiration.  Neptune is involved in this one and he's illusive by nature and hard to read.  Saturn, your exalted ruler, is in your 2nd house of income, possessions, finances, needs, comforts and pleasures which can have a variety of influences.  It's likely more discipline will be required in your budget but the trine to Jupiter in the 10th also implies that an increase in responsibility could be coming, such as in the form of a promotion, which will ultimately bring you a raise.  Jupiter being retrograde gives it a slightly different energy, however, so maybe you'll simply be considering applying for another position and whether or not it would be worth it.

Uranus stations direct about eight hours after the Full Moon.  This occurs in your 7th house of close relationships and opposes your natal Sun if your birthday is right around October 2nd.  Uranus rules breakthroughs, freedom, rebellion, innovation, electricity, explosions, disruptions, disturbances and unexpected events.  Thus, someone close to you could do something surprising that has a major impact.  Of course Uranus has been out there for quite some time, but when a planet stations it stays in the same degree for a longer time and thus packs a stronger punch.  Depending on the house, aspect and planet he's connecting with you can feel anxious, nervous and agitated.  Mars is applying to an opposition with Uranus which adds more energy to it. 

There are two important events that occur on December 21 as well.  The Sun enters Capricorn which marks the winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and summer solstice in the Southern.  The chart for this as well as the other Cardinal Sign ingresses which include Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, define the energy for the coming season which will reflect in the weather and world around you.  A few hours after the ingress Venus stations retrograde, also in Capricorn, which has additional import for Libras because she is your ruling planet.  If your birthday is right around October 22 this station will square your natal Sun and deliver additional energy which is likely to appear in your 4th house which includes your home environment, cultural roots, memories, endings and new beginnings.  Pluto is also in Capricorn and squaring your natal Sun if your birthday is right around October 4.  This bundle of energy suggests a time of significant changes.  You may need to break away from someone in order to pursue your own evolutional path which is often difficult for Libras who thrive on their relationships.  However, if there is anyone in your close relationships who has a toxic effect this will be even more detrimental for you than other signs.  Think back to the December 2005/January 2006 timeframe for possible clues regarding this retrograde period.  That is the last time Venus was retrograde in this part of the zodiac and if anything that occurred back then is still unresolved you will have another opportunity to deal with it.  You can find additional information about Venus retrograde here.

Venus also rules your 8th house of transformations, intense experiences, sex, death and rebirth, debt, shared resources and things you suppress.  Thus this retrograde period has the potential for facilitating major changes which are highly likely to involve one or more relationship.  If your birthday is right around October 12 your career, status, reputation or public image will be important.  This is time to ponder and examine how you feel about your current path.  Are you satisfied with your position and income?  Are you getting what you need out of life?  If so, express your gratitude in a positive way.  If not, consider carefully what is missing and what you need.  Libras tend to be considerate regarding the needs of those around them, often to the detriment of their own.  This can eventually backfire by leaving you depleted and unable to give any more, like a battery that needs to be recharged.  This is a time to treat yourself better and realize that your happiness is as important as those around you.  Be as fair to yourself as you are to others and take any necessary actions for personal renewal that will increase your own contentment and ultimately reflect positively on those around you.
