Lunations and Long-term Aspects This month the New Moon on November 3 is also an annular eclipse which will be visible in a narrow band that crosses the Atlantic Ocean as well as Central Africa. An annular eclipse occurs when the Moon is too far distant to be of sufficient size to entirely occlude the Sun, leaving a ring of it visible around the edges and precluding totality. This one is a member of the 16 North family of the Saros Series and according to astrologer and eclipse guru, Bernadette Brady, this one has a generally friendly and inspiration energy which is certainly good news. Remember that eclipses carry a much bigger wallop compared to the usual garden variety lunation with its effects possible to manifest before it happens until several months afterward. If your birthday is right around March 31 it's likely that it will influence you in a significant way, even if you don't notice it immediately. The eclipse occurs in Scorpio, your 8th house of sex, death and regeneration, debt, shared resources, transformations, things you suppress and intense, live-changing experiences where it is accompanied by Saturn, the North Node and Mercury, providing additional energy in this part of your life. Saturn, sometimes referred to as the Lord of Karma, can be a serious task master but his primary function is to instill discipline and responsibility through structure and planning. Mercury, who happens to also be retrograde, suggests rethinking or reconsidering something that is likely to relate to your thought process generally or perhaps to your work. The North Node often indicates something new coming into your life which will relate to something in your 8th as well. With all these influences working together the end result could be a transformation of some sort. The Sun/Moon eclipse system is sextile your traditional ruler, Mars, currently in Virgo, your 6th house of work, service, health and pets. This suggests an opportunity of some description related to your work but it could also hint at health issues. If you're not feeling quite up to par, it's probably time for a checkup. This sextile is the base of a yod, a.k.a. "finger of God," with Uranus at the eye and in your sign. If your birthday is right around March 30 then he is on your natal Sun and probably stirring up all kinds of surprises, disruptions, disturbances and change. With him now at the eye of a yod it's likely that a transformational change related to health or work is likely, though not necessarily immediately as noted earlier. Pluto remains for the long haul in your 10th house of career, reputation, status and public image and is being squared by Uranus. This suggests that whatever this change might be it's going to affect your career in some way or perhaps you may need to let go of something in order to pursue it. Pluto is all about power, control, and eliminating things you no longer need and if you don't harness this energy it will come at you, sometimes is rather hostile form. Jupiter stations retrograde on November 7 in Cancer, sign of his exaltation and your 4th house of home environment, memories, cultural roots, endings and new beginnings. Jupiter RX internalizes his energy and often relates to ethics or philosophical issues. If your birthday is right around April 10 this station will square your natal Sun and probably bring something to your attention that relates to your 4th house. Mercury stations direct on November 10 and does so in a partile (same degree) trine with Neptune in your 12th house of dreams, visions, inspiration, enlightenment, confinement, seclusion, institutions, the collective consciousness, your subconscious, hidden enemies and self-undoing. This suggests that transformation thoughts and inspiration will meet in a harmonious manner, probably rumble around in your subconscious for a few days and then on November 13, when Neptune comes out of retrograde, also, these ideas will start to surface. About that same time the Sun will trine Jupiter which further emphasizes some transformational change and a new beginning of some description. This period thus has a lot of emphasis on transformational change which will be facilitated by some serious inspiration. The Full Moon on November 17 is in nextdoor neighboring sign, Taurus, your 2nd house of income, possessions, finances, needs, comforts, pleasures, things you value and your physical body, your most important and fundamental possession. A Full Moon typically indicates an ending, culmination or shift to a new phase, which is likely to logically follow if you've experienced the transformational change implied by the eclipse/New Moon and the various changes of direction seen in planets stationing retrograde or direct. If you haven't quite figured out what that change might be or your part in it by this time it may become more apparently along with what to do with it. Bear in mind that this transformational change is in an early stage and just beginning and may not even be entirely noticeable yet. Much of the important changes you encounter in life does not have a clear beginning or ending and when things evolve slowly that is usually the case. However, with Uranus in your 1st house and at the eye of that eclipse-driven yod, the change could be sudden, unexpected and perhaps even quite disruptive. Typically Rams can react quickly and love a new challenge so this should be less of a problem for you than others. Your sign ruler, Mars, is sextile Jupiter which as you recall is retrograde in your 4th house of home environment and new beginnings, indicating an opportunity there which probably relates to work, though again your health could be involved. Examining your philosophy of life is still in order since it appears to have a bearing on what is going on in this part of you life. Those of you who have Mercury in Taurus don't change your mind as quickly or easily as those who have him in Aries or even Pisces. (Since Mercury is between Earth and the Sun he's never more than one sign away from your natal Sun.) Mercury rules your thoughts as well as your work, health and pets and he will reflect the character of the sign he's in, so those of you with that placement may have a more difficult time adjusting to sudden change. You will probably also be more security conscious and perhaps have more trouble taking risks. By the time of this lunation Venus has moved into your 10th house of career and status which is a favorable time for presenting yourself or your ideas publicly. Venus rules your 2nd house of income and 7th house of money and she will square Uranus a few days before this lunation and thus could put up some resistance to change as well, but it should be of relatively short duration. All in all this looks as if it will be a month of transformational change. Inspiration is available to guide you and help make the necessary decisions. That square between Uranus and Pluto will be in effect on and off until early 2015 so you can expect numerous surprises and disruptions that affect you personally as well as your career or status during that time. Uranus by his nature is nearly impossible to predict other than to say surprises will definitely occur. I'm sure as an Aries you agree that the best defense is a strong offense but bear in mind that resisting the energy coming at your from a planet is often an exercise in futility. It would be more effective to awaken your sense of adventure and await the future with a sense of anticipation and excitement regarding where it may lead. |
